mah boi
A bit late, but seeing that the ghost train will be delayed, I guess this song is fitting for the occasion. Coaster, OlivusPrime, ArtfulRaceHorse and 1 other
swooddow
theme park inc. have posted some footage of the new audio being tested. It was posted to the tower times forum , so thought I would put it on here haha mah boi
ThemeParkManiaUK
Before I went into I'm a celeb I was talking to a host and she basically confirmed costume for DBGT
alexander
I'd take that with a pinch of salt. Just because they are a staff member doesn't mean they have inside knowledge of DBGT. Audio sounds good though!
Owen
I agree with Alexander, although I'm intrigued to know what she said, could you tell us what was said perhaps?
MarkC
Unless they're using the IAC actors for the ghost train?
alexander
That's also a possibility - I wouldn't rule anything out. At the end of the day this is all speculation and this is what the topic is for. I just wouldn't take anything as fact unless there is solid evidence
holtjammy16
Wouldn't be surprising if a host already knew they'd be in costume as they probably already have it and it's hardly anything worth making up, Swarm's staff were in costume too weren't they?
Mitchada04
Swarm's attempt at themed uniforms was high vis jackets! Wouldn't be surprised if the IAC actors are used forDB too, they'll all be part of the same team end off the day. Like IAC actors being used at FN. JamminGamer
Did we lose some posts in this topic or something? I'm not seeing any past Thursday morning and I'm certain there was conversation since then.... EDIT : Nevermind, posting seems to have fixed it for me. I could only see up to page 89 before but am now seeing the ones after. Not sure if it's something worth looking into though! JoshC.
Maybe I've misread the post, but surely if there's actors in DBGT then they're bound to have costumes? Doesn't seem too far of a stretch of the imagination to say ride hosts would have a different uniform too; after all, some IAC hosts have the beige uniform! pognoi
Owen
The resort have released a short statement revealing the reason for the delay is nothing to do with the rides hardware, and that it was a creative decision. "Firsty, we don't open any rides until they've been thou roughly tested. In this case however, the reason for the delay is purely creative, there are still elements of the show yet to be completed. It is an entirely new invention, a worlds first, and as it's taken so long to plan and create - over three years now - we are taking time to finesse the final show experience and illusion so it's perfect for our guests. This is an entirely different type of thrill ride" This to me suggests that the delay is down to the VR elements not being completely up to scratch just yet - but of course this is my personal speculation. Project LC
It implies that one or multiple visual effects are not working as expected and is rather underwhelming.

Benin
Sounds more like trying to fit in too much new technology which hasn't really been fully tested on such a scale... Paying the price through this as a result...
Glitch
On 30/04/2016 at 9:17 AM, Martin.C said: For the 12 different experiences offered, this might seem obvious to many already, but it's only just occurred to me. The ride carriage has 60 seats, right? On each side there are 30 seats facing inwards just like the underground. Now, if you look at the logo for the ride, it is essentially 5 people holding shoulders together. So with this in mind, there must be 6 rows of 5 seats on both sides of the carriage, all of which together make up the 60 seats. So, for every 5 seats down the carriage on either side, those 5 people will experience the same VR content, but the other 11 remaining groups of 5 experience something different, hence the 12 different experiences offered. If this is true, I would imagine they organise you into groups of 5 beforehand and when you board the train, you sit into the designated seats they told you to sit in earlier. That is what significance the logo must have on the ride experience I reckon. I disagree. The numbers logic makes sense but wouldn't Thorpe want group members getting different experiences so that friends can go "Well I got this" and so on increasing the want for ride re-rideability. Hopefully they will be random. David B
Ryan
Annual pass holders can get the cog notebook from the ghost train shop for £5 (normal price £8) https://www.thorpepark.com/resort-information/shops/offers?utm_source=MAYbenefitEMAIL&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=MAYbenefitEMAIL
JoshC.
From Owen over on TTSP... Lenticular photos cost £15 (£10 if you have a Digipass I believe?) Head in a jar photo. Notice also the 'Scan here' sections. So it would appear photos are taken before the ride and you're given a ticket. If you want to consider buying the photo, you'd then scan the ticket and go from there. StevenVig and David B
Benin
So ORPs as green screen? Maybe even have you do something like Defi de Cesar in Asterix? Sounds a bit pointless if the photo is a head in a jar...

Sounds a bit pointless if the photo is a head in a jar... I believe there's two photo points. One is simply in front of a green screen and forms the lenticular / 3D photo frame for £15. The other is for the head in a jar. I assumed it would be a 3D printed model of your face in a jar, but the above photo would suggest otherwise? Mitchada04
I'm guessing the head in a jar will be like the Galactica space selfies or whatever they're marketed as.
Tom
I'm assuming head in a jar is an Image warped to look like a head in a jar, as 3D printing would be a little overboard
