July 18, 20169 yr comment_238642 Thorpe are saying it's so busy due to the good weather and school trips, at least the latter will be gone in a week or so!

July 21, 20169 yr comment_238716 So Stormzy has hired out the park next Tuesday after 7pm, and seems that all the rides will be open. Basically seems like another Summer Night. Details on how to enter here, however you must be over 18 - https://www.thorpepark.com/stormzy

July 23, 20169 yr comment_238827 For the low, low price of £1000 per ride per hour! [emoji3] How is up for getting dgbt for an hour ??

July 23, 20169 yr comment_238835 I seem to remember reading the figure £20k to hire Thorpe exclusively for corporate events, but don't know how long that related to (morning/afternoon/evening or all day).

John Lewis used to/still do hire out the park for about 4-5 hours in the evening once a year

This just a great Thorpe park PR/ Marketing stunt as it's a win-win for the park.
July 25, 20169 yr Author comment_238949 'Street food corner' has opened up over the past couple of days, just in front where Crust was... The cart serves some (fancy-ish) beer and cider, and some pub snacks. The huts serve Aussie steak burgers, noodles (with a variety of sauces and flavours), and some chips, again with a variety of sauces to choose from. There's also a picnic area behind the huts. It should be said that these are premium in price - £6 for steak burger, ~£4 for noodles and £3 for a portion of chips I believe - but this is a reflection of the quality of food. A nice thing for the park to be trialing in my opinion!
July 26, 20169 yr comment_238975 Yep I was incredibly surprised to have Meantime Yakima Red and Meantime London Lager on draught when we were there on Saturday! Makes a change from Stella Cidre Both were £5 a pint which really isn't too bad considering Stella is only a little bit less!
July 27, 20169 yr comment_239031 I would imagine just the summer peak and then perhaps reopen for Fright Nights? The bar wasn't busy when I used it on Saturday afternoon.

Those cabins could do with a bit of touch up though..
July 27, 20169 yr Author comment_239043 ^That photo was taken before the food cabins opened up. They've had some signage and stuff added to them; it's not much, but they do look a bit better now.

August 9, 20169 yr comment_239690 Did look very nice when I looked there the other day and definitely a hit. I would've eaten there too (if I'd had the budget). Out of interest, has Crust shut down this year as I don't think it's been open at all this year. I know the noodle place and Ice cream shop in Canada creek/Old Townhave shut down.
August 9, 20169 yr comment_239694 Haven't seen Crust open all year so I assume so. Was always a weird one - I assume a franchise at Thorpe isn't cheap and it never seemed to get busy but it was there for years!
August 9, 20169 yr comment_239696 I've only just realised that was there now it's been mentioned on here! Being out of the way of the main path can't have helped its case
