mah boi
Did you see much difference where the girders in the ground are?
Fred
But where will the adverts go!? Well, in all recent installations, adverts don't appear on queueline tvs.. they're something they're pretty much stuck with from the Tussauds era - and at least they don't have sound on them anymore. Apart from thorpe, but that's because thorpe is bloody useless at anything nearing immersive experiences. Sidders and Cornflakes

Liam T
Fantastic update as always stretchy, the site looks unrecognizable! Great to see metal work finally being placed!
pluk
From the toilets This one gives me a sense of how husge this thing is. Look how far away Oblivion is, and SW7 goes from here all the way passed it. Exciting!
EC!
when you go on Alton Towers website (http://www.altontowers.com/) a full screen SW7 Smiley face pops up for about 4 seconds. The marketing is getting more intense now which is great can't get it to reappear though which is abit stupid
EC!
Here it is I screen printed it from my safari web browser because it wouldn't show up again on Chrome and IE9 and I hadn't been on safari so I screen printed it on there
Liam T
I also noticed this to my shock when Max showed me! I'm guessing its only one a day for each person which is good because seeing that pop up every time someone went onto the Alton Towers website in a day would most likely get annoying, great marketing though! AstroDan
I actually think that face popping up will be quite scary for some people!! Anyway - to the point! I was at AT today, and it was probably the quietest day on park since May, with our longest wait just 20 minutes for Air (although some queues were slightly longer than this during the day). Spent a bit of time looking over the SW7 site, and it's looking ever so "ready" for something. It looks cleaner and more organised, so I think we're going to get some action soon. It really is an enormous area - it's amazing how small you 'think' it is- but in actual fact, it's a hefty size! Very excited, now. Those eerie smiley faces are everywhere on park. Coaster
The face on the website happened to me as well! But it won't come up again.
Liam T
SW7 marketing has now increased with this new banner now arrived on park! Worlds First Beating(?) Rollercoaster Credits to TST for the images Also the website has been updated: http://www.altontowers.com/2013/ 166 day's to go!
Benin
New World Beating Coaster... It's like Inferno's marketing all over again
Marc
And what a let down that was It certainly dont live up to "the worlds most intense rollercoaster experience" Although back to SW7 I guess this wont be a worlds first then, more breaking an existing record?
Benin
Wasn't it the "Greatest" experience for Inferno? Cool hashtag there, #getcorrected, parks need to use social media and would not be surprised to see it constantly being plastered across the park... JoshC.
SW7 could still be a world's first. After all, Th13teen was marketed as 'The Ultimate Roller Coaster'; I can't remember the world's first thing being pushed that much even. So I guess there's still a chance.. I wonder if this'll spark more rumours of 'most inversions on a coaster', with the 'world beating' motto...
EC!
IMO it might be inversions but would Merlin do that knowing that is Colossus' party trick. I'm not sure but I have been wrong before
alexander
The inversion record seems like the obvious bet to me.
Mitchada04
The problem with the inversion record is they'd need at least 13 to make it possibly the most for a while as I believe someone has purchased one of the Intamin 12 loopers but I may be wrong. Everyone knew Colossus's record would be beaten but being able to say the worlds first 10 looper is quite something where as 11,12 or 13 doesn't have the same ring to it. Its like making the steepest drop, it will eventually be beaten. I think it will be some form of trick track like the track flipping upside down or even being linked up to a motion simulator system. I suppose we'll know it all by 16th March.
Coaster
While it would be good to see a world's first, I don't think that it needs to have one to be a good coaster.
AstroDan
The fact of the matter is, forget world firsts. This ride is clearly going to be the most substantial looping coaster ever installed in the UK. I use the substantial with regards to the depth of theming and the length of the ride. It's what Alton Towers has been waiting for, for 19 years.
Liam T
This trick track idea isn't too bad! It will have that surprise element Thirteen's drop does & can work well as a pre-show area for car 2 (if they use Saw's method of dispatching) Gosh! If they don't use this idea of the trick track I'm going to be shocked! I'd rather they go for world's first then beating a record, it kind of wears off if you have most inversions then next year someone else beats it, what does that make your rollercoaster then? World's second most inversions? Much better to be like Air, Oblivion, Thirteen even Nemesis and Rita to an extent and be the ground holders for that world's first!
AstroDan
But it doesn't matter if someone else beats it. What matters is that AT have a decent, legacy building coaster that appeals to the market and will satisfy people for decades to come - much like Nemesis. I'd rather that than a Th13teen situation.
