Jammy3112
I'm guessing people have seen this creation of the Smiler that someone has done on NoLimits. Obviously there isn't an indoor section as this was done before building work had begun (Not sure how they knew the layout). But as far as I'm concerned, it looks insane http://youtu.be/liu91c_r9dU
AstroDan
What excites me most is that the ride on that video looks awesome. And the Smiler will be better than even that.

They knew about the layout through the plans released.
TPJames
I know this has been mentioned before but on the website of alton towers the whole 'may' part of opening in 2013 has gone... I have a feeling it will be opening even later than that....
Ricky
Didnt realise how vague Alton Towers where with their opening times 'opening time - open'... 'closing time - open'. I would rather see check back soon for the opening times we return on this date blah blah.

I would rather see check back soon for the opening times we return on this date blah blah. They are letting you buy tickets at a discount without knowing what the times are! Say you are buying a ticket for scarefest- you may accidentally buy the wrong date because they are so vague. My guess is the smiler will some how affect opening times, also X sector is likely to be closed off for the first month or two until testing(is my guess) so there will be less attractions for everyone to ride! My guess is, they will not post opening times until late notice, also I think the smiler being delayed will have a big impact on everything because alton towers are giving you free tickets to return if you have booked tickets for a date(which doesn't actually have an opening time) and it is closed! My guess is alton are trying to do the smiler as quick as possible but it is snowing again so I think it will delay construction again... Jammy3112
I'm going to Alton Towers in April, so I've already resigned myself to not riding the Smiler. But would they keep X-Sector shut off whilst they finish Smiler? Or just section that part off so people can still access Oblivion etc? Coaster
They're probably just trying to make it stand out as little as possible while still mentioning it considering that it won't be opening until May at least.
Ricky
Because nobody calls 'The SWARM', 'Swarm'. Pedantic.
Fred
Ricky - it does say they'll release them soon. I imagine after feb half term. They need to hurry up and decide, though they change their minds too often anyway.

JoshC.
More supports have been going up today! Photo taken by Towers Nerd from their live stream from earlier today - http://live.towersnerd.com/ Liam T
Luke_A
I really do wonder why they wanted to keep them toilets... They're a bit outdated as it is so why keep them, hopefully they will have modernised them anyway. Surely if they ever need any roof work doing on the building it's going to be a nightmare having the supports for the coaster so close to the roof!? That support assembly looks like it's gonna be one funky piece of engineering though when complete... Liam T
Tom
I think people are underestimating the ease of moving toilets etc, think of all the plumbing hassle! Jammy3112
Jammy3112
To be fair, you just do a bit of interior decorating in the toilets and most people will think they're brand new. Maybe even some how theme the toilets like the ones at Swarm?

JoelPagett
Thanks for the photos strechy. Those who are on Towerstimes.co.uk forums looks like they are about to release an update on the large spider looking themeing object from Merlin Studios! RideAddict
Get a move on, get it built, test and commission it! This is so slow! However, interesting goings-on. When they build rides, does the park rent out these cranes? And who operates them, the crane company or the construction workers? I've noticed there's a few companies about.
