Bubbles1
That would be a nice scenic choice.
Doc
I still stick by what I said about the Marmaliser being overcrowded in places but got to admit, that yellow really makes a nice change in that endless sea of black and grey. Looking forward to seeing the erection of the lifthills and more importantly; the ride's completion.
Benin
Is it their intention to fill that pit with water, like Colossus? Eh? No... Because I don't think making people swim to the ride's entrance would make the ride a successful business venture...
RideAddict
Ah, so the pit is where you get on it? Or is there a pit you don't access at all?. It's no wonder I'm confused. Every time I look at update pictures, pinpointing what is where isn't easy. I'm sure it'll add up when I see it for myself.
MikeC
The game shows the ride entrance to be under one of the Marmaliser legs. I guess it's safe to assume that this is where people will enter the ride area,
noob230
Is it their intention to fill that pit with water, like Colossus? You're asking if they are going to flood the ride area? Yes. Yes they are. Mad Coaster Man

Benin
This is going to look unbelievable when it's finished! - Michael -
Maybe they'll fill it right up and it'll be an underwater coaster

Popular Post stretchy
Evening Peops. Ssome construction pics for you. More theming added to the Smiler. Hmm maybe that construction guy needs to be corrected: Like this guy who is far happier in his Job, but whats that they are using to stick te ride together with? Zooming in its.. Bathroom sealant? Ever wondered what the world looks like through the Smiler Operators glasses? Something like this: The bases of the legs now all have their names on them: Want a close up of those logos on the bins and barrels? Well you got one: Whilst were on closeups. Have any of you noticed that the base of the Marmalisor has a sign on it. Ever wondered what that sign says? There has been some debate on whether the Car Wash (Tickler) will actually spin. I think I can lay this one to rest: But lets start a new debate: What are these cables for on the satellite dishes? So on to the theming of the station. This is how the pipes are added. Lots of measurements and funky clasps. And a few minutes later, those clasps are filled with this lovely bit of pipe: So the full pipe work added before it started raining today looks something like this: The HB Leisure unit is coming along swimmingly: Whilst looking at the HB Unit we noticed this flying piece of machinery. Very clever: My usual overview: Ooo I can look into the shop from here: Meanwhile, back at the top They are.. WHAT CUTTING INTO THE SUPPORTS? By the end of the day rain was poring down and the top end looks something like this: Or this (look how much it was raining): pluk, Mitchada04, Whiteknuckle and 11 others
RideAddict
This is going to look unbelievable when it's finished! It already does?! The reflection of the track in the water going in the pit will make it look even more confusing... It may be inevitable, considering how much rain we've had this week! MikeC
Absolutely incredible! Those poor construction workers must get sick of people poking cameras at them all day as well Great update, thanks for sharing.
Valentez
Zooming in its.. Bathroom sealant? Funnily enough I used to sell this stuff in my previous line of work, that would be Sikaflex Sealant (700 series?). Expensive stuff but certainly one of the best quality you can buy

Benin
That looks so different (and as such, weird) to the other Gerst lifts... Massive aesthetic change...
Ryan
The more of this ride I see the better it looks, roll on May (hopefully....)
Luke_A
I may be wrong - but are they magnetic brake fins on the lift? Could The Smiler use a similar lift system to what I beleieve happens on Millenium Coaster at Fantasy Island Ingoldmells as well as some other Vekoma's, where in the event of the lift chain stopping, the train will steadily roll to the base of the lift... Could explain that 'odd-looking' track section on the approach to the vertical lift. Just wondering... As this would be much quieter than having the 'clank clank' of standard anti-rollbacks... Would also remove the necessity of ever having to evacuate the vertical lift, no need for the lifting cage up the side of the structure. Fred
And presumably speed up the throughput of the ride as there'll be no waiting at the bottom.. I like this.
zalittleguy
There's some rumors going round some other website forums that the vertical lift could stop and freefall backwards before climbing it again, similar to the freefall chain lift in expedition everest and big grizzly mountain railroad. Do you think this could possibly happen and be the long awaited secret element?
TPGG
Those metal fins do look like ones that launch Maverick up it's lifthill so is definitely a possibility. However this could make it difficult to sync the two trains leaving the lifthills (assuming this is the idea)
- Michael -
Plus it wouldn't be a worlds first, which is what it is advertised as
