January 21, 201312 yr comment_148708 Stupid name. That's all I have to say on the matter. Why do you think it's stupid? Would you rather it was a sinister/evil sounding name?
January 21, 201312 yr comment_148713 The mini-site is amazing, seriously worth all that teasing and build it! And a THE SMILER GAME? I WANT NOW!! Alton Towers, Merlin, you've out-done yourself with this and got the marketing spot on, I await the silly PR but for now, I'm speechless with it, well done!
January 21, 201312 yr comment_148727 Guess I need to officially make a post to say I eat my hat.The Smiler it is. You'll officially no longer hear from me again because I've lost all hope in Merlin Entertainments as of now following the dual events of today.
January 21, 201312 yr comment_148731 Won't the game give away the 'world first' before the ride's even opened?
January 21, 201312 yr comment_148733 they will Possibly release a statement over Facebook showing the Secret element before the game
January 21, 201312 yr comment_148735 they will Possibly release a statement over Facebook showing the Secret element before the game Oh yeah probably, there's me forgetting it will probably be revealed soon-ish
January 21, 201312 yr comment_148741 I truly think The Smiler as a name will work if the current trend of marketing continues to assert the ride's back story.
January 21, 201312 yr comment_148749 As long as people get the story element of the coaster, I think the name fits fine. I believe the main problem with the name really sits with non enthusiasts who know nothing about the coaster or its backstory. To them the name "The Smiler" could appear rather cheesy and/or lame.
January 21, 201312 yr comment_148756 I am very sure that Alton Towers will be working tirelessly to get the Mr Twirly image, and various backstory information out into the public arena so that they understand what this ride is all about. It's only just been released, it needs time!
January 21, 201312 yr comment_148776 I'll still be preparing the humble pie for March though... Even if it's for me, because I feel optimistic that just cos it's not at a particular stage in comparison to another ride doesn't automatically mean it won't open on time as scheduled... How would you like your pie Benin
January 22, 201312 yr comment_148779 With a flavour of actual optimism, which is a lot more than what most people gave it... Considering the delay was due to unexpected issues, how else should one react? I'll be cynical to parks that do idiotic and needless things but will be optimistic for things for which they do good, especially when my thoughts are based on my engineering knowledge... Besides, it's not march yet... But I would have rathered hoped towers opened it rather than just deride the park without knowing the full facts as to the delay...
January 22, 201312 yr comment_148781 Oh Benin, just accept the pie. I know you were being optimistic la de dah.
January 22, 201312 yr comment_148784 they will Possibly release a statement over Facebook showing the Secret element before the game I doubt that they would give it away as easy as that. It'll be ashame if they give away the element before anyone's got to ride it and it just being unveiled on some mobile game!
January 22, 201312 yr comment_148808 Nooooooooo!!!!!!! Cant believe they've postponed the opening!!! I'm goin to AT in mid-April! Heard all the rumours, but was hoping they were gonna pull it out of the bag at the last moment Gutted
January 22, 201312 yr comment_148812 It's so handy having a car, even if it is a 4 hour drive to the park. I'm in no rush to get on it. Will wait till any flaws get ironed out, though that could last the entire season like most new rides seem to these days
January 22, 201312 yr comment_148814 Nooooooooo!!!!!!! Cant believe they've postponed the opening!!! I'm goin to AT in mid-April! I'm not sure how it works though!

January 23, 201312 yr comment_148856 Wish we could see some more of Oblivion's repaint on that ariel shot!
January 23, 201312 yr comment_148857 Track looks so thin and weedy next to the beefy thick Oblivion track. :')
