planenut
Great pics. I would love to climb Stealth's top hat. wouldn't it be interesting to see a train totally stripped down, as we only really see the dressed item.

rOsSwA28
Do Thorpe Park offer any kind of backstage tour of the park during closed season?
coaster_monkey
Great photos but I'm sure we see most of the park like that during season??!! ;p Inferno and pluk
Kerfuffle
I think it's about time Thorpe set some 'Next Season Resolutions'...For example: 1. Sort out SAW's audio 2. Grow some trees behind Samurai. (yes they were cut down for health and safety issues, but really I'm getting sick of seeing a tangled mess of metal that's SAW - The Ride ) 3. Give Storm Surge a new paint job 4. Sort out the queueing nightmare, triggered by THE SWARM's Brave it Backwards, while possibly sorting out the back two air gates (as they pretty much lead to the BACK of the seat!) 5. Bring back Detonator's previous audio! (2007 - 2011) 6. Theme up the Ranger County area a little (remember the straw roofs for the games stalls and The Asylum queue?) Inferno
Agreed. Points 1 and 4 are absolutely essential tbh!
FrightNights04
They should also plant some plants at the bottom of storm surge, and paint the supports to the colours of the ride, that would make it look finished at least! Cal
I prefer the audio on detonator they have now to be honest haha, everyone seems to prefer that one though Marc
Marc
I prefer the audio on detonator they have now to be honest haha, everyone seems to prefer that one though I'm with you, the one they use now / pre 2007 is much better and fits in way more than the one they had on it for a couple of years in 2007 IMO Tom, Cal and Kerfuffle
EC!
I love the original music! Fits its themeing very well I think!

JoshC.
The last time I remember hearing the music was towards the beginning of this season. You don't usually hear it anyway because of the sound of the lift hill, which is a shame as it's actually alright music... Matt 236
I definitely remember the storm surge music through the queue plus the announcements to the hold tight during the right. TBh was one of the few things about the ride that were actually good. Coaster
EC!
All I can remember hearing is the stupidly annoying squeak from the lift hill. Coaster
Worthy9992
As a matter of fact...what happened to Storm Surge's hillbilly announcements? The storm surge announcements are pre recorded like buttons that are attach to the PA box so it's up to the operator of that day if he/she what's to use them or not and so is the theme music there is a key at the bottom of the same box that you turn to turn on the music however someone managed to turn it off another way and no one could turn it on so maintenance will sort that out during winter Kerfuffle
Sawyer
I remember the announcements, although they were terribly cliche sounding. I've always thought Storm Surge was an eye-sore to be honest. It's such an RCT plonk-down job in the middle of the park. More themeing could change that but would it be worth the investment? Just painting the supports and planting some plants would make it better! And that would cost £200 MAX!
Coaster
Just painting the supports and planting some plants would make it better! And that would cost £200 MAX! It would probably cost more than that, but still not too much for a park of Thorpe's size to invest. FrightNights04
Marc
I do agree Storm Surge's appearance could be improved with just some small low cost works. Id like to see the leaks fixed / the spin pads back on. More planting under the ride and supports painted would also improve it. I also think would look good if the concrete trough was painted blue like Tidals. FrightNights04
pluk
I also think would look good if the concrete trough was painted blue like Tidals. The trough itself is my biggest problem with the way the ride looks. We know it doesn't fit and was poorly thrown in but there is no reason for it to look quite so much like that is the case. Painting the trough and some sort of blending and softening of the ride against it's surroundings could make it look much less turd like for no great cost. Kerfuffle
Basically the whole thing needs to somehow blend in with not only Amity Cove...but also X as well!
