February 14, 201213 yr comment_131903 Celebrities shouldn't be given exit passes. It's an absolute farce that they should get priority while us normal people sit idly by and watch them go round before anyone else. I don't care if they're the nation's treasures; they should exercise a little modesty and queue like everyone else. This isn't the US, where they treat their celebrities like demigods. And TPGG, that's no excuse. Why should they expect a "nice day out"? If they're the kind of celebrity who can't go to their local corner shop without a swarm of paparazzi commenting on the quality of their dress sense then why should they assume that if they were to go to a theme park, where thousands of people congregate each day, that they could have a nice peaceful day out? If Princess Diana can visit the park and insist that she and her family queue, unassisted by guards, for every ride as a normal quest would have to, then I don't see why a second-rate comedian/TV presenter should get the privilege of exit passes.
February 14, 201213 yr Author comment_131906 But its like everything in life, they get priority at almost everything, because the publicity they bring to said attraction is a good thing, is they choose to accept the perks is another matter but at the end of the day, its the way life is
February 14, 201213 yr comment_131919 By going by the map, The Swarm shop will be called Emergency Supplies
February 14, 201213 yr comment_131931 I guess the swarm DOES take peoples limbs off. *looks at dead people on ground*EDIT: Personally, it does look cool, but pretty useless for travelling around the park, it's so messy. Although, from the characters on the swarm site, we can expect panicking actors and ER Doctors.
February 14, 201213 yr comment_131933 Dissapointed that the over turned lorry will be a games stall but it looks great. Is that a new restaraunt/food stand at the entrance to the island?
February 14, 201213 yr comment_131934 Now that is shocking. I was expecting the lorry to be the food and drink store. Oh well, dreams die.
February 14, 201213 yr comment_131938 Not seeing what the fuss is about not having a food stall in the Swarm area...You know, not like there's a new B&M there or something which will matter a lot more than being able to get some burgers or whatever...
February 14, 201213 yr comment_131952 Dissapointed that the over turned lorry will be a games stall but it looks great. Is that a new restaraunt/food stand at the entrance to the island? Why would you be disappointed? At least (if it is true) they're going to the effort of making everything fit in with the theme and not stick out. Better that than to just be a concrete slab (or another container) with some horrible flashing lights on it.
February 14, 201213 yr comment_131954 By going by the map, The Swarm shop will be called Emergency SuppliesAlso, judging by the map, It's a shipping container
February 14, 201213 yr comment_131960 The plans show a shipping container as the shop and I'm not dissapointed about the lorry, I was just expecting it to be a useful food and beverage unit (as shown in the above image) instead of a game stall that will have staff shouting do you want a turn, potentially ruining the areas atmosphere.
February 14, 201213 yr comment_131962 By going by the map, The Swarm shop will be called Emergency SuppliesWell-spotted, Liam. :)At least we can be happy they haven't called it something ridiculous that doesn't fit in. It's like a vigilante resource depot where the last few survivors can stock up ammunition against the apocalypse. I wonder what kind of emergency supplies there will be...?
February 14, 201213 yr comment_131963 I wonder what kind of emergency supplies there will be...? Pick and mix.
February 14, 201213 yr comment_131964 Concept Art has appeared on the Thorpe Park website showing possible smoke effects under the wing http://coasterupdates.com/2012/02/the-swarm-new-concept-art/(Couldn't find the URL address for the image so hope this will do)
February 14, 201213 yr comment_131968 Merlin have done a great job out of this ride, can't wait to be there to see it in person. Though it was a surprise to see the overturned lorry become a games stall. Pick and mix.Important stuff for survival.
February 14, 201213 yr comment_132004 Well-spotted, Liam. :)At least we can be happy they haven't called it something ridiculous that doesn't fit in. It's like a vigilante resource depot where the last few survivors can stock up ammunition against the apocalypse. I wonder what kind of emergency supplies there will be...? You've got a point there Sid. Where there's an alien wreaking havoc there will be survivors armed to the teeth with the intent to kill it. So anyway, good question. What will the Emergency Supplies store hold? I imagine for one thing, shirts saying "I survived the Swarm", plus army camo, rust and concept art printed shirts as well. Maybe not toy guns, or fake ammunition, but maybe a sort of military belt to carry your personals? But certainly they must have a Lez Cougan corner, with shirts saying "I'm Lez Cougan", or "I'm with Lez Cougan (a.k.a. crazy)" Anyone else want to inject opinion?
February 14, 201213 yr comment_132008 army camo, rust and concept art Lol. Medals. Cups. Pens.Condoms.[/thread]
February 14, 201213 yr comment_132009 I would also include theming, plus I ain't joking. Come on lads, test your imagination!
February 15, 201213 yr comment_132021 Will you be able to enter the Swarm area from both sides of Depth Charge then?
February 15, 201213 yr comment_132022 Well yes, you can go down either in front of GS or past Fish. The real question is the fate of the path straight down from the dome, which I have a nasty feeling will be blocked off by this new snack place next to the Swarm bridge.
February 15, 201213 yr comment_132024 They could very easily block off that gate by fish if they want to funnel people at opening down one entrance. It's going to be such a crush SWARM...
February 15, 201213 yr comment_132025 The pathways are still going to be an awful cluster of people... Would not look forward to the busy days like with Saw when that first opened...
February 15, 201213 yr comment_132027 If the general public have fallen for that publicity stunt, which I have heard alot have, then I pressume for the first few weeks it won't be so crammed. But when the summer holidays come, dear oh dear.
February 15, 201213 yr comment_132033 Just been reading the last 10 pages to actually look at my first updates of the Swarm - been avoiding it tbh so I didn't get too excited but curiosuty got the better of me and damn it looks good! It's good to see they're thinking of getting the fire effects of tidal wave working again in 2013 however I don't see the water tower working straight away as I hear there's bats inside which causes a lot of problems in doing things like that.Fire, Water, Smoke the angles, the train going over the station just looks Epic in it's own right - Bring on March 20th (will hopefully be quiet skips opening day and weekend then lots of ridage time) cannot wait for it
