Mark9
Those pictures actually put me right off. It looks nice but way to small and compact. For a minute there, I wasn't even sure there was a door to the bathroom.
pluk
Hey you three friends, you stay in here sleeping on top of each other, I'm going about 2ft away on the other side of that thin slightly opaque screen for a dump. Enjoy. It's still a no from me. Inferno
Dodge2002
I really don't think Thorpe's Ops team wanted these crappy snoozeboxes. Merlin were obviously reluctant to invest, and this is the only way they would be able to secure an investment, by providing solid occupancy rates. Think of it from Thorpe's perspective. They just spent £20m on a coaster which had minimal success, they then have to ask Merlin for another £20m or whatever for a hotel, which they have no statistics to back up its potential success. Merlin settle on a trial with a Snooze box agreement and give them £3-4m to spend on installation and running costs . Do you really think Thorpe would then ask for ANOTHER £5m to install a topspin or whatever and expect an investment? Unfortunately it is clear now, no Merlin park will ever be given a "Refurb" investment unless its a whole zone including a new ride. Merlin just aren't interested in that type of investment. Dodge2002
Can we just get a time machine and skip to the day when the real hotel opens please? Mark9
Fred
I don't think it is to be fair - they'll give money if it's argued for. Let's look at towers, this year alone they have: New ride (£20m) Repainting and refurb of entire X Sector (hundreds of thousands) Burger Kitchen units x3 (Just over £1m spent on that) 14 refurbished rooms over at ATH (tens of thousands) Beginning of building the log cabins (few million) If towers can get it, thorpe could easily get a few items in one year. Marc
I'm sure the Crash Pad is more down to the demand for hotel rooms right now rather than money, merlin know a hotel at Thorpe could easily sell out with its location, so I'm sure we will see it built soon regardless and that the idea of the crash pad is more to make sure there able to offer accommodation this season rather than in a few years. Just because weve not been told dont mean moneys not being spent!
MarkC
By then a topspin might be open
MattyMoo
Never mind that, does the girl in the onesie doing her hair have a Facebook fan page? Haha. I wonder how sound proof those doors are by the bathroom, no good if your friend is chucking up after two days THRILLSEEKING! Doc
SteveJ
You can tell they have had to use a very wide angle lens to fit the room in the frame, since all their faces are stretched. The room will look even smaller in person. I think this supersedes Storm Surge as the weirdest development at Thorpe Park in recent years. Sphinxy
Anyone else expecting a few smashed up rooms and drunken antics around the place? Or is that the kind of thing they are aiming for?
Coaster
Looks quite nice in my opinion, apart from being a little cramped.

Ryan
Yeah they look a lot worse than I first thought, at least they're mostly hidden out of the way. I still think they'll be good for the Ministry of Sound nights though, if the price is reduced.
Bubbles1
sorry, but how is the thorpe park app new for 2013? anyway, yeah that looks quite bad.
JoshC.
sorry, but how is the thorpe park app new for 2013? anyway, yeah that looks quite bad. They might be updating it and I don't think it's been avaliable for Android before? As for the Crash Pad, I'm starting to get a feeling that I may have egg on my face... TPJames
It looked great on the concept art- it looks absolutely disgusting in person, why would anyone want to sleep in that?
Benin
It looked crap since day 1... An embarrassing investment for ANY park...
NikhilSharma
I'd be embarrassed to stay in shipping containers, it looks disgustingly horrid.. Huge mistake and a waste of money..
AstroDan
I showed my parents some photo's of The Crash Pad earlier, with them having no pre-knowledge of it. They literally thought it was a prison block, and the red looking lights/dots by some of the doors were alarms. They also thought they hi-viz people were prison officers. I kid you not. pluk and RideAddict
Marc
Maybe we should wait till its finished till we start calling it the worse hotel ever etc, or is judging the finished product to much of a crazy idea nowadays?
