Just was reading on Towers Times and Alton's MTDP for the next 10 years has been revealed.I'm just going to quote a post on that site as I wouldn't be able to put it in my own words effectively. Personally this all sounds great to me It's a shame to hear Spinball Whizzer possibly leaving, Yes it has terrible throughput and sticks out like a sore thumb but it is a great little ride. Your thoughts ?

Did you realise that artist Banksey was opening up his own theme park and take on Disneyland this weekend in Weston Super Mare. http://www.thedailybeast.com/articles/2015/08/17/inside-dismaland-banksy-s-sinister-disney-trolling-theme-park-reportedly-opening-this-weekend.html

  6. Hi guys. I have exciting news; it appears that Alton Towers is holding a consultation about building an “indoor attraction” on the former site of the Alton Mouse, within Coaster Corner (the area behind World of David Walliams): Those “in the know” apparently think that this is to be the next Secret Weapon. I’ve got to say, I think this is brilliant news! A new indoor attraction will definitely add some variety to Alton Towers’ lineup, which should hopefully allay recent concerns about the park lacking filler rides! With this being in/near TWODW, I doubt that it’ll be anything too thrilling, but I think the park needs more middle-ground things with a …

A Halloween special for everyone, vote here on what you think of Chessington's classic Transylvanian rollercoaster.Open for it's 20th season, the Vampire has been thrilling riders since 1990 in either bat themed cars or leg danging carriages. It's seen an extensive refurb and was Tussauds real start into stunning rollercoaster designs. Through Vampire John Wardley learnt many lessons that he would incorporate into Nemesis, Oblivion, Megafobia, Air, Dragons Fury and Th13teen.Vampire's legacy is well known in enthusiast circles.. but just how good is the ride?

  9. So our resident trolley dolley linked this rather awesome, drool-worthy video in chat and it had to be shared! Look at how red the blood is on Nemesis! And how colourful Corky looks! Enjoy

http://www.grimsbytelegraph.co.uk/pleasure-island-theme-park-to-close/story-29738706-detail/story.html Sad news, it's always a shame to see a park close and yet another bad sign for the UK industry. Gutted that I never got to visit, and unless a miracle happens I won't get to.

What do people think on Alton Towers' Powered rollercoaster in Katanga Canyon, Runaway Mine Train! I've noticed that this ride has been getting increasingly popular recently, on my last 2 visits the queue has been out the entrance! It's definitely a winner against other Powered UK coasters, Runaway Train, Flying Fish and Buffalo Coaster are all pretty pathetic in comparison, and this ride is great for young children and thrillseekers alike! Also, I adore the theming! 8.5/10

  13. Hello Members of Thorpe Park Mania, I know this isn't really Thorpe park related but it is theme park related. I consider myself to be probably the worlds biggest fan of Trauma Towers, however there is a significant lack of information and photos (particularly of the inside the attraction) online. This is pretty disappointing for me as you might imagine so I decided to create this forum because I would like to see the photos you guys have got of the attraction along with any information you may have of it. I am also particularly interested in the attraction previously located in it's spot 'The Haunted Hotel', there's basically no information about it online aside fro…

With Chessington officially opening tomorrow, I thought it'd be interesting to start a topic based on Chessington's media coverage- after seeing some interesting pictures yesterday/today aimed at promoting Madagascar Live ^^Very nice way of getting the word about and creating attention, and the idea of the animals in the city even fits in with the story of Madagascar itself! :DAround 5.20pm today I also heard the end of a Chessington television advert downstairs but didn't see any of the advert itself! :(It is very nice to see that despite their low investment in Chessington, Merlin are still serious about getting people through the gates and that they're giving CWoAR som…

Was planning on putting this in the 'Parks / rides / news' topic but then realised it's locked So here's a new topic... The 226ft Mellors Starflyer has returned to the South Bank as of today and will be residing there until 29th September as part of the Wonderground. So if you're around the area pop on for a ride! The spinning mouse coaster has not returned for this year. Starflyer was priced at £7 last year though I am unsure of prices this year. Never have I seen it less than £6 at other locations.

Tuk Tuk Turmoil was previously Rodger the Dodger's Dodgems when Wild Asia was Beanoland. The only thing I prefer about the previous dodgems was the audio music used. However, I find that the cars seem to be moving faster along the 'path' which is nice. Also, I think the use of pre-recorded announcements on this type of ride works as it sounds quite enthusiastic. They certainly are doing everything they can to advertise Kobra as at the end of the ride; you get reminded to take a spin on the Kobra. :mellow:Discuss your thoughts and opinions of Tuk Tuk Turmoil here...

Unless I'm being blind there doesn't seem to be a thread for Warick Castle. Does anyone actually go there? Would presume so, what with it being on the MAP. Anyway, they've managed a decent bit of self publicity with this news story. I take it they use some pyro in their shows then?

So with the news that a B&M is to open at Thorpe for 2012, lets discuss a ride that will be celebrating it's tenth birthday next year. Air, B&M's first flying rollercoaster opened in 2002 and is quite unlike any other ride in Europe. Swooping up and over Nemesis and with an emphasis on the thrill of flight does Air inspire you or do you hate it and have been put off flying ever since. For reference, French ride enthusiasts love it. But do you?!

In comparison to last year not as impressive but could still be promising none the less! It's the Zoo's 85th anniversary so for half term the zoo will be open (as expected) with some guest animals, exclusive shows, animal feedings and a host of other activities available. Ride line up: - Hocus Pocus Hall All guests have to pre book tickets including Annual pass holders but this is free of charge. Thoughts!?

Angry Birds Land has officially arrived in the UK - Sundown Adventureland opened it yesterday! Yesterday sees the first Angry Birds activity park hit the UK. The £250.000 investment for the park, who exclusively look of attractions for under 10′s, reviled the world will include several large play units, a mixture of themed swings and roundabouts and a giant dummy catapult to replicate the Angry Birds world. Seeing as though the Thorpe Park thread went down nicely, thought it might be fun to do one about Alton Towers too. Again, I’ll go first: The original Haunted House wasn’t that great, and people only hold it in such a positive way purely because of nostalgia and if it were to be recreated 1:1 today would be a flop.

Does anyone know how much bounce back tickets were for next day park entry last year at Alton Towers? Or indeed how much they are likely to be this year?
