  1. Started by Valleyfair,

Valleyfair is my home park, and I'm very proud to state that. Despite the its flaws, the park is in my opinion, one of the parks that has every ingredient needed to be a perfect park. How to make a good park:-Rides-Landscape/Scenery-Food-ShopsRides: At Valleyfair, there are rides for every size. For kiddies, there's 3 different sections dedicated to kids alone! Half Pint Park, Corkscrew Tot Spot, and Kidworks. Each section has various kiddie rides that are fit for kids alone. Rockin Tug, the Foam Ball Factory, and the Hot Air Balloons are some of the highlights of these areas. For families, there are various family rides, from coasters, (Mad Mouse) water rides, (Hydroblast…

2 new huge coasters have been built in the States, Intimidator at Carowinds and Intimidator 305 at Kings Dominion. Both open today. The main one I wanted to talk about is I305, its the 2nd/3rd (If include one in Japan) Giga coaster built and it looks incredible. The amount of airtime and the quick transitions look fantastic! Shame we'll never see anything like it in this country. Only POV I could find was this one from TPR, so thanks TPR. What do you guys think ?

Yet another park in the Six Flags chain, it used to house the other S&S Sky Swat (Catapult) which was recently removed and currently has the world's tallest Sky Screamer, several wooden coasters and Bizarro. It's just been announced that just like Colossus at SFMM, Cyclone will be closing on the 20th July after 31 years of operation (opened in 1983). Does anyone think this will be given the RMC Treatment or is it just the end for Cyclone considering the park has a few other woodies?

  6. Pretty surprised to see there's no thread for this! Surely a ride so epic in every way deserves its own discussion? Spiderman is currently my all-time favourite ride. I remember it being one of the focuses of a theme park documentary I was watching a good 10 years back, showing behind the scenes footage and also footage of the ride itself...and when the famous finale to the ride was displayed, my mind was blown. Consequently, in the summer of 2008, I finally had the chance to give this a ride once and for all! SPOILERS:

  7. A surprise recently when I got the chance to ride the Boulder Dash at Lake Compounce. Always had wanted this and suddenly, there I was. This is a brilliant wooden roller coaster that ascends a climb hill through trees across boulder strewn terrain, to then descend around the wooded hill then hug it's contours. Racing between the trees, and bobbing around corners reaching speeds of 60mph. Great airtime and with speed at low level it creates a fantastic ride. Hope I'm allowed to post this link?

Legoland Deutschland has announced that they are building a new €15.5m coaster in 2023, that will be the first of its type in a Legoland park: https://www.themepark-central.de/legoland-deutschland-neuheit-2023/ The ride will be located in a new themed area between the holiday village and Land of the Pharaohs that will also contain another attraction. Nothing else has been said other than the budget, the fact that it’s part of a themed area, and that it’s the first of its type in a Legoland park. There are no real rumours, but interestingly, I’ve heard both an SBF Hamster Wheel (suggested within the above article) and an S&S Axis (a European park wa…

I imagine this won't attract much attention on this forum, however I think this is a particularly exciting development to Europe arriving in June this year! Adventure World Warsaw will contain several major features including a massive entertainment village, a theme park, a water park and two hotels. The theme park will be the first ever theme park to set foot in Poland and the water park will be the largest water park in the whole of Poland. The total cost of this project before opening is to be set around €620million and the resort plans to expand in the future. The theme park itself will contain 6 themed lands with over 50 guest experiences including 24 themed rides.…

Right guys, today I thought I would tell you about one of the best funfairs(in my opinion) which exists today. It is called villacher kirchtag and is from the 28th July to 4th August 2013. It is a traditional fair with folk dancing and music but also features a fairly large funpark. The funpark is quite expensive however due to the long ride times you get on the rides(some being around 10 mins) you feel satisfied for your money. The funpark is a great way to get your thrill senses going and is very fun and exciting. The funpark has a great atmosphere. There is also a wide range of food and drinks avalible as well as traditional gingerbread. I am advising you to go and vis…

NOafter blasting up the launch lift hill to approximately 40mph through a 105ft zero g roll the coaster accelerates down the hill into a cobra roll then directly into a 360 degree loop. the coaster then circled the launch section before going through a corkscrew which enters into hidden track behind the station and storm force acceleration where theres another corkscrew, turnaround and through the on ride photo section and then into the brake run before returning to the station. Flying Turns is probably one of the more infamous bobsled coasters to come from America. A custom made ride by Knoebels in Pennsylvania, the coaster has been plagued by problem after problem after problem, and has been under construction since 2006. However, yesterday, pigs flew after the ride had finally opened! A couple of pictures from Coasterforce member ECG - http://www.coasterforce.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=878648&sid=90193fa8b270753674326da256230a72#p878648 Also, here's a night time POV: http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=oPULFIcUhuk Actually looks like a fun ride as well, which is great to see. Thought I would create a Topic for Slagharen, a particularly interesting park with a particularly funny name. Pretty under the radar for us brits but have announced a new Gerst coaster that will be replacing there old "Thunder Loop" coaster (https://rcdb.com/907.htm) It's a pretty interesting ride that looks rather fun, here's a CGI POV: The park also has some interesting other rides and a Water Park with some interesting sounding slides. Now as I am visiting Europe on a theme park road trip next year, I'm going to squeeze this in as it is kind of on route.
