General Thorpe Park discussion. Rides, attractions and events.

  1. Started by Coaster,

What was your first ever ride at Thorpe Park? Mine was Stealth.

  2. HELP PLEASE! If anyone has been to Thorpe Park before please can you answer my questionnaire all about your customer experience at Thorpe Park. This is for my dissertation, it will take about 10 - 15 minutes to complete and if you add your email at the end of the questionnaire you will be entered into a draw to win a £20 Amazon gift card!! Your experience matters to me! If you can like and share it would help as I need to obtain as many responses as possible! Thank you! At the risk of someone on here taking umbrage at having to glimpse real life and getting this topic locked - this woman, obviously well suited to the tabloid press, alleges she was humiliated and forced to parade in front of hundreds of park guests, because she could not be safely fitted into a harness on Colossus, having walked past the test seat to join the queue.............. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-3863156/They-know-not-B-cup-Mother-one-banned-Thorpe-Park-ride-Colossus-36L-BREASTS.html#newcomment

As some of you may be aware, the purchase price of a Thorpe Park Annual Pass at the moment is only £51.50, which I think is a ridiculously low price if one can make use of it more than two times in a year. As my current pass doesn't expire until June next year, and suspecting the price may go higher again, I contacted the TP office to establish that If one pays online and picks it up at the park, it starts on the day of collection, if one has it delivered it starts on the day of purchase. I will be buying mine this weekend and it will start after mid-June next year. https://www.thorpepark.com/tickets-passes/annual-passes/#

Apparently, last Sunday was the worst day ever for trouble being caused by the traveller community who were at the park in large numbers. Several occurrences of queue hopping, pushing and it seems fisticuffs, due to this type behaving in their unsociable way. Glad I didn't go over until Monday.

What a frightening thought, but one of the ride operators asked me yesterday "what if your favourite ride didn't exist, what would you ride?" Now, I had nightmares last night. I think this is the first time I've ever been asked and if a person has one particular favourite ride, and it did not exist, then logically the next would become that persons favourite. However, if your favourite does exist, and then it did not, it is an odd thought. Well for me anyway.

  11. Yesterday I visited Thorpe park with some friends. All week I was worried about size restrictions. I have a 47-48 inch chest, am 6ft1, and weigh around 20 stone. The first ride of the day was nemesis inferno. I needed a sharp push on the harness but everything was fine, didn't even feel tight. I rode this again later on in the dark and all was fine then as well. The next ride we went on was Samurai. Everything was completely fine again didn't even feel tight. the next ride we went on was Saw. Perfect amount of room, I doubt anyone couldn't ride that ride. We rode this three times throughout the day. With my confidence up we …

Without planning too much I had intended attending TP today to catch some reasonable weather and before my shifts start again - to find last evening that it is not open. I may be the only one, but Fright Nights are of no interest to me except for perhaps getting some late rides, be it with an extra payment. Annoyed I'll now have to think about doing some things around the home. Frustrated that I haven't ridden a coaster since Sunday, and not much time left.

I am lucky, I only live about five miles from TP. I often meet people who have travelled hundreds of miles, but yesterday, I met a young girl who lives in Ealing, West London. She doesn't have a lot of money, therefore does not bring a car needing to pay the car park fee. She rides her bicycle, starting off about 8.30 a.m. to cover the eleven miles through the streets of west London. Me switching the car engine on is hard enough for me.

I thought the park might be quiet, and it got really quiet into the afternoon. Nice to bump into some members on the park, hope to see you again soon. Strange as it may seem, I did leave Stealth for a while in the afternoon. I could see that the queue for Nemesis Inferno was nil, and I could see the same for SWARM. I walked on to the former, then the same for Slammer, Colossus, Saw (though someone evacuated their stomach on the carriage in front of our returning one, so they then shut the ride), walk on for Vortex, Rush and then SWARM, then felt I had to have the remainder of the day on Stealth. With no queue for the last hour, everybody could re-r…

Hi guys! First thread for me is fittingly about my first ever visit to Thorpe. I visit towers quite often and decided to attempt to get 12p tickets, which I somehow luckily achieved, thus I'm taking my mum and younger sister to Thorpe. (Both are above. 1.4m) We're visiting this Saturday the 1st July and wondered of any tips or a day plan if possible? We may purchase a one shot fast track if its mega busy (which is affordable considering our ticket price). I and my sister will be riding all the coasters and flats, whereas my mum will stick to anything that doesn't invert (she's past her thrill seeking days). So yeah, if you guys could shoot us some ideas of a plan and s…

Closed Season is upon us, and sooner or later, the forums will descend into chaos (read: the forums will become dead quiet as we have nothing to speak about). To stop that happening, here's the 2016 Thread, where we can discuss all non-WC16 2016 Thorpe things. Share ideas for what you'd like to see Thorpe do for next season, post the few-and-far-between updates on any other updates for 2016, and views on those new things. And to repeat, any WC16 stuff should remain in its own thread. What I'd like to see... -Rumba Rapids work. Almost as infamous as a Colossus repaint, but this is surely a cheaper project, and is just as needed. -Introduce themed areas a…

Thorpe Park have released some more details about their new summer event, 'Island Beats': https://www.thorpepark.com/events-experiences/events/island-beats/ Not entirely sure whether this is a rebranding of Summer Nights, or whether the park will be open from 10am-10pm, with say a ticket available for if you enter after a certain time. The 'Lost City stage' is currently being constructed by The Crust, so will be quite small and, as they say, intimate, which would make me think this will have limited tickets and thus be some sort of 'special Summer Nights' event. Sounds quite good, and The Vamps and Rizzle Kicks are two names that I've heard and are quite…

They used the exit ramp as a Fastrack queue this afternoon which was quite annoying as 2 trains of fastrack users went ahead of me when I was stood at the front of the row I was queuing for. It also meant they had a swarm of people clogging up the exit path from right near the steps going down. Hope this doesn't become a regular thing!

A couple of snaps of the FlowRider which started to go up yesterday. If the weather stays good can see it being a pretty fun addition to the side of the beach which is rarely used now.

New for 2014 - King Pigs Wild Hog Dodgems! They were pretty fun yesterday - they run at a good speed and the length was pretty good, hopefully they are able to run it like this during the busy months too.

New for 2014 the Angry Birds 4d experience! The show is actually very good - the seats and the use of multiple special effects has been done very well, seems to be getting a good reaction on park which is good to!
