pluk Posted May 5, 2012 Report Posted May 5, 2012 Skyrush... Wow, what an amazing looking coaster! Agree that the coaster itself looks pretty damn good, much better than expected. But I still think the seating on those trains is a mess, what is it trying to be? Who are you supposed to be sitting with? It's a kind of staggered four person wide floorless car, and then try to market it as winged? Nonsense. Decide what you want and build it, don't just mix up a load of other stuff.
Benin Posted May 5, 2012 Report Posted May 5, 2012 POV of X Flight online, looking pretty damn snazzy... http://www.chicagotribune.com/videogallery/69761990/News/Soar-with-the-X-Flight-wing-coaster
Mark9 Posted May 5, 2012 Report Posted May 5, 2012 It looks excellent. What it looks in physical elements it makes up for in a very well designed layout. I liked the guys frankness, people are too quick to call things slow on the internet based on a POV. XFlight looks brill.
Liam T Posted May 5, 2012 Report Posted May 5, 2012 EDIT: Here is another video "Something went flying off of it! *clangs of things smashing about*" Always a positive thing to hear when an ride is testing But yeah Skyrush looks cool, pointless but cool!
Luke_A Posted May 5, 2012 Report Posted May 5, 2012 And now only a few days after the first test runs, Skyrush is now starting to test the catch car speed without cars on the lift. My god that motor is massive from ABB, no wonder it makes the catch car go at such as speed, in the video on Facebook linked below, you can see just how fast the trains will be going up that lift! http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?v=3532748750927&set=o.197071770330160&type=3&theater UnderItAll 1
Mark9 Posted May 7, 2012 Report Posted May 7, 2012 Thanks to theme Park Review. That is one fit looking rollercoaster
Ricky Posted May 7, 2012 Report Posted May 7, 2012 It's nice to see X- Flight had it's tin shed ditched for a tin wall. Looks alright, and water effects are in sync
Liam T Posted May 7, 2012 Report Posted May 7, 2012 Great video of Verbolten! IMO the best looking coaster opening this May
JackR Posted May 7, 2012 Report Posted May 7, 2012 What an ugly looking tunnel... Credit to Theme Park Review.
Ricky Posted May 7, 2012 Report Posted May 7, 2012 That's a NoLimits tunnel... Seems unjustifiably pointless. Tom and Rich 2
Benin Posted May 7, 2012 Report Posted May 7, 2012 And people say Sub Terra and Merlin's theming attempts are rubbish... Coaster 1
Liam T Posted May 7, 2012 Report Posted May 7, 2012 Wow, Leviathan lair is really creepy and themed so well Where is the mist, rockwork and erm DARK TUNNEL?
Bubbles1 Posted May 8, 2012 Report Posted May 8, 2012 wait, is this the additional theming they said they would add???!!!!
Deleted Users Posted May 8, 2012 Report Posted May 8, 2012 Not really sure why there is surprise about these tunnels. The park doesn't have any heavily themed rides (Italian Job was stripped I believe) and the park is owned by Cedar Fair. The 'scream tubes' are par for the course. Sure they could add themeing but the park has ridiculous attendance already and now the world's only B&M giga. I doubt they feel much need.
Mark9 Posted May 10, 2012 Report Posted May 10, 2012 Happy 20th Birthday to the worlds first B&M inverted rollercoaster. JoshC. and Cornflakes 2
Liam T Posted May 10, 2012 Report Posted May 10, 2012 Better POV of X-flight, looks good! But I feel like The Swarms Inversion looks more tighter while X-flights looks more dragged out
Benin Posted May 10, 2012 Report Posted May 10, 2012 Verbolten will have 3 different sequences (I.e. lighting, theming) during the indoor section, either a lightening strike, Thirteen Ripoff Spirit of the Forest or Wolf attack (apparently to homage BBW)... Nice, very good thinking there... http://themeparks.about.com/od/rollercoasternews/a/Verbolten-Busch-Gardens-Williamsburg.htm
JoshC. Posted May 10, 2012 Report Posted May 10, 2012 Wow, that X-Flight POV makes it look really fast - much faster than the other wingrider POVs I'd say. And good news about Verbolten - even if it is a bit of a Th13teen rip off with the theming idea and some of the sequencing, it is the new ride of 2012 I'd most want to ride outside of the European..
Mitchada04 Posted May 11, 2012 Report Posted May 11, 2012 Macks new mega coaster 'The Storm' with a twist for Etnaland in 2013 is looking good and almost fully built. And this is the reason behind Macks sucess, the mighty blue track. Credit to MACK Rides FB page.
Liam T Posted May 11, 2012 Report Posted May 11, 2012 Already!? Also I wonder if Mack track painters only work on one colour...
Cornflakes Posted May 11, 2012 Report Posted May 11, 2012 The first Shambhala POV has emerged online!
Joegibbon Posted May 11, 2012 Report Posted May 11, 2012 The first Shambhala POV has emerged online! They have done a much better job than Thorpe at timing the water effects But seriously, it looks like an amazing coaster and in a park that I need to get back to ( not even done furious backache, wasn't built when I went )
