Coaster Posted March 14, 2016 Report Posted March 14, 2016 What about Blackpool? [/coasterjamie] Blackpool could easily be the best park in the UK if they wanted to be, but these days they are happy to be led by other parks, which is a shame. I get the joke though and in fairness BPB is still my favourite park. Quote

Matt 236 Posted March 9, 2017 Report Posted March 9, 2017 So much detail! Towers have done a frightfully fantastic job on updating and repaintint the Nemesis. It's good to see the park receive so many updates and would be great if the TLC scheme became a regular thing. Quote
SteveJ Posted March 9, 2017 Report Posted March 9, 2017 It would be great if Merlin paid to maintained their parks you mean? Yes, yes it would! Wouldnt that be a turn up for the books But fantastic scenic work here, amazing job. Quote
Mitchada04 Posted March 9, 2017 Report Posted March 9, 2017 Looks great! The whole façade of this TLC is worth it just for this! The comparison is depressing though at how bad they let it get. Quote
OlivusPrime Posted March 9, 2017 Report Posted March 9, 2017 Genuinely phenomenal, though I vaguely remember the other eye looking somewhat different to that one? Quote
Mark9 Posted October 8, 2017 Report Posted October 8, 2017 First post since March, wtf has happened to Alton Towers interest of late?! I know that hundreds of articles and blogs have been written about Nemesis over the years, I'm still going to gush because Nemesis was in a league of its own over my five rides yesterday. It was running on a level that I hadn't experienced before and I had the biggest smile on my face from beginning to end. I've been on quite a few inverters this years and not one can hold a candle to it. It looks in the best condition it has for years and the operations were simply, perfect. Utter joy. Mer 1 Quote
huzzellio Posted October 8, 2017 Report Posted October 8, 2017 Yeah, went on this last weekend on my yearly Towers visit and also thought how great it was running. Got into the station where there was a queue for every row apart from the front, so me and my boy walked straight onto the front row. Not sure why nobody else spotted that! The way you interact with the pit is still mind blowing even after all this time.Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk Quote

As coaster enthusiasts we go all over the place to get on different rollercoasters to try new things. No ride this year has been as pleasurable or as intense as Nemesis last night. I'm genuinely surprised because I always knew it was a good ride (one of the best) but it surpassed itself. RobF and huzzellio 2 Quote
Mega-Lite Posted October 12, 2017 Report Posted October 12, 2017 You're a lucky man then Mark, she left me feeling quite dry on Sunday just gone. Been far too long since I've had the "JESUS CHRIST!" end brake reaction on Nemesis, I envy you immensely. I assume the reason for lack of interest in Alton Towers is due to the face there's f all to be interested in these days. Quote

pluk Posted October 13, 2017 Report Posted October 13, 2017 I assume it's because, very sadly, SW8 doesn't look particularly interesting. The overhead pic from Tattem (?) airfield yesterday showed just how inconsequential the whole thing is. Quote
JoshC. Posted January 20, 2018 Report Posted January 20, 2018 The third, and final, part of Nemesis TLC has been taking place... https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=402095776883777&id=215306002229423 Regardless of anyone's opinion of how the TLC is being presented, this IS good and great to see they did follow through with it. Stuntman707 Posted January 20, 2018 Report Posted January 20, 2018 They should do Duel next. Complete restoration like Hex! Love new Hex and Nemesis. Quote

Duel has been earmarked for refurbishment this winter since last closed season, and was hinted at on the TLC page a week or so ago, so a case of watch this space I guess! Quote
Benin Posted January 20, 2018 Report Posted January 20, 2018 "restoration" of Hex huh? Duel would be best being fitted and a fresh start unfortunately... Especially as I guess Tomb Blaster would be the level of expectation? Quote
Mattgwise Posted January 20, 2018 Report Posted January 20, 2018 I hope they don't overhaul the gun and target system to that of Tomb Blaster, it's dreadful. Quote
Coaster Posted January 20, 2018 Report Posted January 20, 2018 The only real issue I have with Duel is how the scenes are presented currently - it still has the potential to be a brilliant dark ride if the right improvements were made. (And of course the laser guns - get rid!) Quote
JoshC. Posted January 31, 2018 Report Posted January 31, 2018 Nemesis TLC is complete! Coaster 1 Quote
Whatever Posted January 31, 2018 Report Posted January 31, 2018 It looks beautiful. Unfortunately for me, these images didn't exist for me to reference for one of my GCSE art pieces, which was completed in november. My whole project was based on steel coasters, and in particular, Nemesis. Would have been nice to have had the above photos in existence for inspiration ? The artists here have done a fantastic job working on the station, as it looked very dreary and grey before. Quote
Coaster Posted January 31, 2018 Report Posted January 31, 2018 Absolutely stunning. Great work from Alton/TLC! Quote
Mega-Lite Posted January 31, 2018 Report Posted January 31, 2018 I'm going to be that guy, I preferred how the track and station looked before this TLC. So to answer their question, was their 25,000 hours worth it? Nope! On the up side, the bad paint job seemed to make it run slightly faster for a while. Quote
Mark9 Posted February 1, 2018 Report Posted February 1, 2018 I think it looks sublime. Nemesis is absolutely pivotal at Towers and for it to get the love it deserved makes me very grateful that its finally been completed. I could nit-pick but I'm not going to as there's too much misery in this world as it is. Can't wait to see it in person. Quote
Benin Posted February 1, 2018 Report Posted February 1, 2018 I'll probably only be riding Wickerman and Nemmie when visiting, so at least I'll be riding stuff that looks nice... Quote
MattyMoo Posted February 1, 2018 Report Posted February 1, 2018 It would have 100% made sense to spend all those hours giving it some TLC, only for it to open 2 hours after park opening, wouldn't it? Marhelorpe 1 Quote
