James6
When did I say they were completely different things? It's easy to change the meaning of what people say to make you seem superior, quite funny really. They're both roller coasters, but on completely different scales... Surely that's fairly easy to see? Or are you too busy trying to put everyone else down for your own benefit? TPGG
BlackFlames
Sorry to cause confusion. I consider Vampire to be my first proper coaster experience, but Runaway train is my first thrill ride experience lol.

Or are you too busy trying to put everyone else down for your own benefit?I don't think anyone's doing that, Mark9 especially just reinforced the point that the GP don't always see things so clearly, no idea where he's put someone else down with that at all. I was as confused as Ryan the first time round. I understand you probably have good intentions but you're overreacting now. It's pretty easy to understand why someone would become confused by their first two posts, there's never really been any debate on here as to whether powered coasters are rollercoasters because they just are. All it was really needed was clarification as to what they meant and now BlackFlames has given that to us and we can move on. Ryan
dragon2000
Sitting there doing nothing all day. Lots and lots of people saying they were going to ride it today, only to discover it closed - clearly it's a much loved attraction by visitors. Shame the park seem to have abandoned it for now! Matt 236
. It was a shame to see it recently in such a sorry state closed behind with no apparent work going on.
BigBobJones
I never knew till this year that Runaway Train has the same track layout as the Flying Fish It's amazing how different a ride can be with a Theme.
Fred
. It was a shame to see it recently in such a sorry state closed behind with no apparent work going on. Still got rockwork but closed? I'd rather that than bare and open..
OldFarmerDean
it's not being reopened until it's all removed, and new facade is added... unlike dragon falls, which they have reopened with minimum themeing, until the closed season where it will be redone. EC!
lots of work to do but I'm sure it will look really good when finished is if it was brand new. OldFarmerDean
OldFarmerDean
I'm going on 13th june, can't see it happening, but wouldn't mind them finishing it for then
Benin
Depends if they open it sans theming or rebuild it first... Although I think if they remove enough of the rockwork it'll all fall down anyways...
Merry-go-girl
Personally I wouldn't fancy going on a ride that looks like it's being held up with garden canes, call me a wuss.

dragon2000
Just a tiny tiny fraction of mountain left when we looked today. Workers literally hand-sawing sections off. The ride now looks exactly like the Flying Fish with it's lack of themeing... now let's get on with building a new mine! Matt 236
I was wondering what had happened to the ride recently I. Terms of its theming deconstruction. Must admit it surely can't look great at the moment and hopefully the mountain structure will return soon. On the slightly off topic of the fish, the ride is currently looking rather nice now as some shrubbery has now stared growing around the ride. Matt 236
Double post (how wrong of me) but here's a photograph fromThemepark guide showing the current appearance of poor mine train. https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=502390356482935&set=a.166428706745770.47984.163052343750073&type=1&theater
Mark9
Sweet Jesus. Thanks Chessington for raping more of my theme park childhood memories. Much love, Mark9
JoshC.
That is probably the most depressing sight I've seen at a theme park...
EC!
How to make a classic ride look like absolute dog poo by Chessington.......
