sully1311
Was at Thorpe Park today, didn't see any work done of Slammer any time I passed.
Mightymetra
Was at Thorpe Park yesterday. Asked two members of staff about slammer and they both said that it was condemned. Even the entrance sign has been taken down!
Mattgwise
It's already been established in previous comments by Thorpe Park themselves that the ride will reopen once fixed.
Mightymetra
Strange, must just be uneducated rumors!
BigBobJones
Today they had a cherry picker next to it and one side of the ride was covered up and they have put temporary fencing around the ride, looks like the part has arrived and being fixed
c1hrisin
Same yellow fence as last time? I think this ride has its own fencing as it seems to be constantly breaking down lol
EC!
I hope its not going to be much longer now the ride seems to have been down for ages.

BigBobJones
I didn't say which year Tinie! You have not added the S&S factor, it may only work for 1 day before requiring a few months rest while another part is on order :-) Ricky
Mccy
This isn't much of an update but work is due to start in the next 2 weeks and should last for around 6 weeks. So hopefully, Slammer will be back in operation within the next 8 weeks.
StevenVig
This isn't much of an update but work is due to start in the next 2 weeks and should last for around 6 weeks. BigBobJones
So by around the 15th September we should be Slammin' then? It is such a shame as all those going over the busy August period will not get to ride it.
Dan9
I wouldn't start putting a date on it. Rich
EC!
Hi guys, I have checked Thorpe's website and the "Slammer will be unavailable today-sorry for any inconvenience caused" banner has been taken down and the ride has been taken off the extreme thrills slider at the bottom of the page. Sounds very bad so I look at top and I click on the rides button and Slammer is still under extreme thrills I click on page and it says " We are sorry but The Slammer is currently closed for essential maintenance. It will reopen later in the season." I hope so or do you think they are hiding something bigger I'm not sure what do think personally I think that they are trying to take attention away from the ride. Again what do you think? Benin
They're taking attention away from the ride... Links in with the removal of ride signage really...
Fred
They still mention it at the entrance - which to be fair, is the only place they should really display it. Not like it's a massive ride, anyone looking for it on website will see that information as well.
Mitchada04
I think this is the best way. Having it on the scroller all the time meant that anyone just glancing at Thorpe's website will notice it and either go what's Slammer or start spamming Facebook as to why it's closed. Only having it on Slammer's page means only people looking for the ride will find out about it. Having Slammer tucked away is really handy for Thorpe as they can literally just try and hide it. Quite like the text thay've added to the Slammer image on it's page as I think it will be heavily used.

Stokesyboy
Saw a couple of mechanics walking around it and doing stuff to it on sunday but I've heard it's nearly back in action!
