RideAddict
A crane or a rope/zipwire, it's a split opinion and we all know what's the cheaper option. But like I said yesterday it looks awful there all year round. The platfom at the back is hardly ever used for access!
JoshC.
I wouldn't exactly say the rop looks awful. Whilst it may look a little bit better without it, it doesn't effect the impact of top hat section. When you look at Stealth, you see the height and are meant to be blown away. That's exactly what happens. Until now, I've heard no moans about the rope being there, and very very few people wonder why it's there. The only time when I find it is particularly noticeable is when it's dark, which is to colour contrast. It's not so much of a large, widespread grumble that the rope is unsightly, because to most, it isn't.
Ricky
Just like to point out, the rope has been there from day one. Originally it was stored in a bag at the top of the rides platform and the bag would be released when they need it and rope would cascade down to the ground. Which can be seen in a red bag in this image: Courtesy of Total Thorpe Park/Google for the image. After a situation where the bag rusted and split causing the rope to tangle in the track it was decided to have it permantly affixed to the support and the base of the ride. Jammy3112
I've personally never had a problem with the rope being, and can't see how it affects people's enjoyment of the ride in the slightest. Sidders

Just because its not used when the parks open dont mean its not used, I expect engineers are up there a few times a season atleast.
RideAddict
That's the first time I've seen anyone up there in years, although I've probably missed a few photos of when they were last up.
StevenVig
Does it even matter? As Jammy3112 pointed out, the rope shouldn't affect your enjoyment of the ride. This is a very petty subject imo. pluk and Jammy3112

As Jammy3112 pointed out, the rope shouldn't affect your enjoyment of the ride. *scrolls back up through topic* Nope, never said it does. I'm talking about how it looks from a distance - e.g presentation.
Benin
I can't say that this rope actually makes a difference to the presentation of the ride... Indeed, I doubt anyone actually notices it...
Lewis.
I've just noticed Stealth is so in style right now, Dip-Dye: The Ride P.S I can't believe someone is actually complaining about a rope. Seriously?
Ryan
I think the general Thorpe guests are more thinking "dat ride is mazzive" not, "why have they put a rope hanging down from it? that has ruined my day". Tom
Coaster
The rope is there for a reason, to be honest it isn't that noticeable and I'm sure you would be glad of it if you were stuck at the top. It doesn't really detract from the overall appearance of the ride in my opinion.

Benin
As mentioned, between the options of MASSIVE COASTER against tiny couple of mm thick rope... Which is more noticeable... It does NOTHING to the ride's presentation...
Ricky
This is such an amusing dispute. Jammy3112

Fred
Good. I hate closed season, or nit-picking. Or just "enthusiasts" in general. Craaig, Benin and SteveJ

There's this, a topic about a speed bump and a topic about going to the toilet at a theme park on several forums, it's an awful time for actual discussion... JoshC.
According to the Live Feed, Stealth's airtime hill has had "a bit of a repaint". This would be the second time Stealth has had a 'bit of a repaint' I think... Question is, why? I can think of a couple of Intamin rides at Thorpe which need a repaint, and Stealth isn't one of them. RideAddict
I can't see the bunny hop repaint from the picture, I'm sure I'll spot it next time I visit.
Ricky
It's a very small section, only distinguished by the the white strips being visible on the ascent and not the decent of the bunny hop.
RideAddict
OK, I'll look when I visit, but by the sound of things it sounds like it was hardly worth it for such a small section of track.
