Just a quick one Does anyone else think the name of this category should be UK Attractions, rather than parks? As places like Sealife, Dungeons, Shreks Adventure etc aren't parks.

The Howl is a fairly new event- debuting in 2015 in Leighton Buzzard, it has slowly became more and more known amongst the community. It is the sister park to Shocktoberfest, so it shares a lot of DNA with its brother. I first visited in 2015 on opening night- I found it to be very fun and had an AMAZING street team, though with its mazes it very much was very similar to Shocktoberfest, which meant that if you had been to Shocktober, you generally knew what to expect. 7 years on, and the event has grown and evolved into its own thing. This year it felt like a total different place to how it was in 2015, it was amazing to see the growth and its unique quirks th…

Hi guys. While it’s probably one of the lesser known defunct UK theme parks these days, I’m led to believe we have quite a few people on here who grew up in the UK in the 1990s, or were more generally around in the UK in the 1990s for that matter, and know about Mr Blobby and Crinkley Bottom in Cricket St Thomas, Somerset. So I was intrigued to know; did anyone ever visit this park in the brief period it operated? And if so, what did you think? I must say it’s a park that looks intriguing, and quite a strange one to imagine as someone who wasn’t alive in the 1990s. As someone who mainly knows Noel Edmunds as the host of Channel 4’s Deal or No Deal, I can never…

Saw this scare event near Bluewater in Kent. Never heard of it before, has anyone been or know anything about it? Seems to have several mazes and won some awards a few years back. I guess it’s a smaller version of tulleys. Cheers! https://www.spookycastle.co.uk/

  7. Hi guys. As many of you may know, rapids rides have grown to be a rather contentious topic within the UK industry in recent years. Following the incident on Splash Canyon at Drayton Manor in 2017, the safety of these attractions was brought into question by the HSE and the parks operating them. As such, most water effects were removed, the prevalence of staff around the rides increased, and safeguards such as doors and higher backs were added onto the boats. This was not where the matter ended, however. The HSE released the results of their inquest into the Drayton Manor incident in 2021, and this inquest contained a number of safety measures for parks to impl…

I couldn’t find a thread for Coney Beach, so I’ve started one. Not sure how many people have even been to Coney Beach here, but it’s somewhere I’ve been quite a few times since I was little and they have my favourite KMG Afterburner I’ve ever been on: Beach Party! I started this thread because I noticed that Beach Party looks to be up for sale online *cries* (so if anyone wants to buy it for me, I’ll give you free rides on it in my garden ) Jokes aside - if Beach Party really does leave Coney Beach, I will be so sad!

Broadditch Farm plays host to an array of seasonal events. It is best known, however, for its amazing Halloween Event, Broadwitch Hauntfest. Nominated on numerous occasions for Screamie Awards, this humble farm near Bluewater, Kent is seriously making a name for itself in the Scare Industry.2010's Spooky Castle was arguably the best Scare Attraction in the UK, with amazing attention to detail in set, props, actors and their make-up. Michael Bolton- respected figure within the scare industry and also the man behind Scare Tour, stated that Spooky Castle was his personal favourite Scare Attraction of 2010, calling it, "perfect". As well as four, unique, intense "haunts" …

The annual Knutsford may day fair is now open until the 6th May. It has over 100 attractions. Probably the best new ride I've seen is this Megaspin. It's like a cross between a Sky Swat and a Disk'o.

Today the Some friends and I went to the Merlin Annual Pass Preview Day at The Trafford Centre, Manchester. I have done an annotated picture review of it. The photos arent as good as my usual photos. My camera is rubbish inside. The Sea Life itself is in a section of the Trafford Park. It is pretty well hidden. It was only when I moved closer I noticed it. Inside you are greeted and pay your entrance, get your photo. Then you go into 'The Turtle Experience'. Inside you are greeted by the above lady who explains to you all about turtles, starting with that they have been around since before Dino's existed. They use projection mapping on the floor to s…

So QUEXTREME is returning for its 3rd year this year at Quex Park in Birchington. Having done it every time I can safely say it is probably the scariest of all the horror events I have done. Theres only 3 mazes however each one lasts about 15-20 minutes and you’re sent in small groups. They’re all outside with one being in a cornfield, one a forest and one big one which incorporates different areas and a big, theatrical storyline. Last year one of their mazes was nominated for a scare tour award for most innovative ending; this involved everyone being bundled into a London Black Cab with a stunt driver who flung you around in a field w…

So I'm sure a few of you might have heard whisperings about a new attraction coming to Greenwich in London at the end of this month. At Scarecon Deathcell was heavily featured and teased after a hugely successfull kickstarter campaign. Looking at the website and announcements the following information is avalaible... Approx. 30 minute live-action Escape Room experience. Combining immersive theatre where the guest truly decides their own fate, mixed with a classic intense ‘horror maze’ experience. Those curious enough to undertake Deathcell will be pushed to their limits, forced to make unprecedented choices that will affect everyone in the expe…

Yes - finally, York has something worth going for (apart from its culture, it's beautiful city, it's railway and museum, it's Jorvic viking centre, it's Minster and it's Park & Ride systems).. It is.. the CHOCOLATE MUSEUM. Unfortunately, I am **** and do not provide photos. But seriously, in all seriousness, it's ace. It's like cadbury world, but about a billion times better (it helps that it wasn't opened in 1992). Learning about the history of chocolate, the history of chocolate in york, involving Rowntrees, Nestle and the Terrys brand. There are a couple of mentions of Cadbury and Kraft, but York hates them as Kraft are evil gits. So, what happens here? Wel…

  20. Hi guys. Since Tussauds' purchase of Thorpe Park in 1998, Chessington & Thorpe Park, two of the UK's largest theme parks, have operated under the same corporate umbrella (Tussauds from 1998 through to 2007, Merlin since 2007) within very little distance of each other; both parks serve the London area, and they are only a very short drive away from each other. Tussauds' initial reasoning for purchasing Thorpe Park was in order to eliminate Chessington's closest competition within the South (Thorpe was a family park to the same, if not a greater, extent than Chessington at the time, and as John Wardley put it, Tussauds' mentality was one of "if you can't bea…

  22. Hi guys. The UK has a surprising amount of parks for a relatively small country in terms of landmass, and this naturally means that the UK has quite a number of coaster lineups. These vary in quantity and variety, but there are a surprising amount of coasters in the UK nonetheless. After a furious debate in the Blackpool Pleasure Beach topic yesterday regarding its coaster lineup vs Alton Towers' (amongst other things), it got me thinking about my favourite UK coaster lineups. As such, my question to you today is; which coaster lineup in the UK is your favourite? Personally, I would vote for the coaster lineup of Alton Towers as a gut instinct answer. Their to…
