April 24, 201510 yr comment_208044 A good thing with the reliability of these coasters is that the main fix seems to be a waiter with a large stick.
April 27, 201510 yr comment_208207 I have been to the one in Europa park a couple of times and have enjoyed it as an experience. The food is ok, nothing special for the price they were charging and with the ordering system and just wanting to see more items come down the rails you loose track of how much you have ordered, always struggle to stop myself ordering more!!! I'm sure it will be a hit and it's nice to see one in the UK!
December 8, 20159 yr comment_224426 Hi all. I was at the hotels on Saturday, playing crazy golf with the nerds and saw the following. I assume they are for the air shop rebuild. Sorry for them being not very good pics, they were at max zoom and it was horrible weather. Also, Air was running the whole time we were golfing. There seemed to be something in the front row seats but non of my pictures of that were even recognisable as air (blurred mess - light levels too low for high iso).
January 7, 20169 yr comment_225718 The restaurant is taking bookings on the Alton Towers website right through the evening up until 9.30pm. It'll be interesting to see how this works - whether diners can access the restaurant via Woodland Walk or whether they will make a new entrance?
January 8, 20169 yr comment_225800 Some concept "art" Each big table has smaller tables coming off it, so I don't think lack of tables will be too much of a problem, it looks really big in this rendering.
January 8, 20169 yr comment_225802 If it's the same as Europa there are 10ish people per chute, and it's fairly quick as you order on a touch screen as and when you wish
January 8, 20169 yr comment_225816 Just saw an Alton Towers advert and it included a bit about the new restaraunt. The design looked modern, simple and not tacky at all.
May 15, 20169 yr comment_234706 Well the Rollercoaster Restaurant is now open so I think it was time for me to pop over yesterday to sample.. http://thorpeparkmania.co.uk/articles/15-05-2016/Rollercoaster+Restaurant
May 17, 20169 yr comment_234837 It's not bad... Not astronomical, but not McDonalds! On our table we had three people, It came to £90, so £30 each (Not including AP Discount) but that included: Main: (Prices Estimated + Rounded) 1x Chicken Curry (£13) 1x Rollercoaster Burger (£15) 1x Lemon Chicken (£15) 1x Side of Fries (£3) Dessert: 3x Ultimate Ice Cream (£9 each) Drinks: 3x Alcoholic Drinks (£5 each) 2x Soft Drinks (£3 each) Here are also some photos of the tablet system:
May 17, 20169 yr comment_234838 Thank goodness for annual pass discount, £5 for a drink and £9 ice cream makes me want to cry.

With the annual pass discount it is definitely worth it. With AP discount mine came to just over £20 (by like 50p)
May 18, 20169 yr comment_234890 At the end of the day you really are paying for the experience and not the food Have not been to this, but Europa Park's FoodLoop was great fun and definitely worth the money. If you don't like the price, don't eat there
May 18, 20169 yr comment_234902 If the prices are astronomical, then I guess the space theme is even more coherent. Have heard the quality is sort of Spoons on steroids which isn't bad really.

May 18, 20169 yr comment_234932 Yeah, like people have said, it's as much about the experience as it is the food with places like this. However, one thing that has caught my attention with this is people saying that the service was essentially too quick; like a couple of minutes from ordering quick. Not sure how standard that is of other Food Loops and the like, but I can see why people would be a bit worried (if that's the right word) about the food quality if it comes so quickly.
May 18, 20169 yr comment_234933 Food Loop at Europa is standard restaurant waiting times. But, Woodcutters the food always used to come out in like a minute, not so much anymore as it seems this has stolen that style
May 18, 20169 yr comment_234934 To be fair with the exception of burger kitchen Merlin food is generally of a decent standard - paying a small premium for a good experience would be well worth it imo.
May 18, 20169 yr comment_234941 Yeah, majority of Merlin food ain't bad, for theme parks it's what you'd expect really... I can count on one hand the amount of parks that have amazing food on a constant basis (Dollywood), rather than just one standout restaurant (Efteling, and even then that's the Pancakes)... Also Wetherspoons
May 18, 20169 yr comment_234942 With some exceptions, I actually prefer Merlin's food to DLP's. Shocker I know! Most of merlin stuff is pub/spoons quality TBH. Smokehouse though
May 19, 20169 yr comment_235018 £9 for ice cream! And I thought Nitrogenie was over priced... It is more about the experience though (as said above) and if you aren't into that sort of thing dont eat there, simple as. I may have to give the restaurant a try when I go in October, just to say that I've been and to see whether it's any good!
