pluk
This must have been released early as well as some of the tweets about derren Browns new ride were on Twitter 10 hours ago!! I think that was from the video Thorpe posted at midnight. This has made it into the mainstream press too! http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/celebritynews/11954509/Derren-Brown-launches-Thorpe-Park-psychological-ride.html

Phill Pritchard
I am so excited for this. I have been a fan of Derren's since Mind Control first aired on Channel 4 and his live shows are some of the best I have ever seen! How his style will work in an attraction is going to be very interesting to see. Especially when they say "...where the guests will be unable to make the distinction between what is real or imagined!". And with all this talk of next generation technology, I really don't know what they have planned but it's definitely exciting! pognoi, MattyMoo and GladiatorFanKyle
MattyMoo
on the Instagram post they say "we've had to result to extreme measures to stop Derren sharing too many secrets" I do wonder if that is a subtle hint to something though regarding not being able to scream/shout - might be wrong. Thanks for sharing the coffee/actors pic too Ryan.
Glitch
Its a shame that he doesn't go to the stage door after performances now. It would be nice interrogate him.

Indeed - I do really really like Derren Brown - glad it's this IP and not the "others" that were mooted I do think, as others have said, he's not about to put his name to any old rubbish - which does lead me to hope this is going to be a cracking dark ride and addition to Thorpe Park. In some ways I hope the mystery as to what goes on inside that big old shed is maintained until opening day. OldFarmerDean
Well unless the 13 minutes includes a preshow... Then it's definitely not a coaster aha!
MattyMoo
You have to allow 3 minutes for the obligatory photo pass picture Kerfuffle, Matt 236, slendercat and 4 others

TraX
Gotta agree.. Merlin buzz words galore. Where's that 'killer image'?
Glitch
Well as long ad its not spoiled with a cheap vr headset I'm happy. For air vr will be fine. This however I would much prefer high quality theming for example picked animals in chronicle glasses
FrightNightFan
Sounds so cool, just hope its a ride you can do more than once as that could be a big problem. Think of the coaster they could have made with that money! With everything related to '5', and its a psychological experience, it means only one thing... How many senses are there to mess with? JoshuaA
TBH I'm glad a big budget is being spent on a Dark Ride. Thorpe has a lack of them compared to other Merlin Parks. Its very intresting, Merlin have never done a psychological theme before.. Cough* The Smiler *Cough.
xxbennxx
I imagine it will employ a lot of "old style" effects. If Derren himself appears at all, I believe it will be in the pre-show and a peppers ghost illusion, instead of a video screen, will be used. I just don't want it to be ABOUT him and a really self obsessed vanity project. Look at Universal Creatives relationship with Spielberg.. He does not litter himself throughout the attractions. I hope Derren is a humble man who has created and directed this thing. I know I said if it is Derren I am out, However, I am very sure it could be the UKs best ride. If it is not a vanity project. The man knows illusions, he knows showmanship, and he is not afraid to tell you how he does it.

Fin The Human
I found Mike Vallis not 'Make', and he is the Divisional Director of Merlin (formally Chessington) http://www.zoominfo.com/p/Mike-Vallis/1135392255

The Punchline
Still wondering what those five people could represent. Found out it isn't just something to connect Derren Brown's twitter and the scarefest photo, it's a symbol for the ride since it was on the Email Thorpe sent me last night. RyanB19
I do think it will be set around a train station or something similar, the 5 lines looks like track, derail people's minds, and all the other links in a way fit. Plus on the original plans it said Thorpe Depot- Train Depot?
