Mattgwise
A little while ago on Twitter. It has since been removed! With Thorpe's antics of late I don't believe it for a second! (although would be nice to be wrong)
Coaster
What is going on with theme park Twitter pages today ? Mattgwise
Stuntman707
If Merlin wants Thorpe to be a resort, it needs a permanent hotel.
Project LC
Merlin definitely want the park to be more like a resort hence a new entrance planning to be constructed.

They are the official “breaks” provider for Thorpe - think they are external but still have an official relationship with the park.
Stuntman707
Another winter update which is nice to see. STOP THE PRESS - NEW GRASS FOR 2019 CONFIRMED. But on a serious note, it is great to see some attention being put back into the presentation park. The new turf looks much better. Mattgwise
Did the video seriously quote "so we ALWAYS have two trains in operation we have three trains so we sort of work on a rolling basis" JoelAllen
daboywunda
Don't hold your breath for anything new in 2019... I think this might be a regroup and reconsider year - Events and licks of paint. Expect focus to be on presentation and operations rather than new and shiny. They'll be focusing on getting it right for the visitors they currently have before trying to attract new ones. ImLucifer
Benin
Be lucky to get any paint given the old "EVERYTHING MUST HAVE A RETURN ON INVESTMENT" nonsense... Ringo
daboywunda
Hardly nonsense.. It's business sense.. Every business will consider an ROI on every decision they make. It's just whether that business deems "customer experience" an investment worth investing in if something else will generate bigger returns.. Of course, every business gets to a point of having to take stock and re-focus before moving into the next investment..
Benin
Merlin had the chance to do exactly that after Smiler crashed... Their decisions since show nothing but contempt for "customer experience"... Ringo, Marhelorpe and SteveJ

That should have been this year instead of converting a family coaster into a horror theme.
Reece_Crockford
Did anybody else notice when Thorpe's website got updated for the 2019 season that "The walking dead: living nightmare" was on the rides and attractions section. It swiftly got taken down and replaced with "saw alive". I did not screenshot it but a screenshot of saw alive on the website is attached
08newmanb
My suggestion, have Knightmare from Camelot, completely refurbished by Zierer during next year, and then, I’ll soon have it behind the swarm and stealth, for 2020. How’s that for real?

Ringo
Means absolutely nothing, an enthusiast member of staff trolling you. If you take what you see in that screenshot as gospel then the island is being submerged by the lake and they are planting trees and laying grass down

If you take what you see in that screenshot as gospel then the island is being submerged by the lake and they are planting trees and laying grass down To be fair, they have been relaying grass down.. The map will be done in layers. Restaurant names and logos will be one of the last things added. However, to support the theory, the Burger King in that location is no longer mentioned on the Thorpe Park app, which also doesn't include I'm a Celebrity, nor Sticky Sisters (which appears to not be returning as it's been removed from their website also). I must stress that I don't think it means anything immediate. However, one cannot deny that the removal of multiple things in one area gives some hope.. JoshC.
A subtle nod that this year is the park's 40th birthday on their most recent Facebook post... One hopes that they're deciding to capitalise on this, with some sort of event or something. Even a pin badge would be a step in the right direction.. Matt 236
Being 25 is so last year, because I’m 26 in a few months. Seems trendy these days for parks to tear stuff down before their big birthdays.
