April 11, 201213 yr comment_136153 Just for anyone going tomorrow the ride might be down as it went down about half way through today, second MCBR making constant noises as if it was slowing down a train. From about 3pm onwards, two mechanics were present but It did not reopen by end of day.

April 11, 201213 yr comment_136163 Sorry if I wasn't clear (after re-reading it, it is poorly written) What I meant was it was doing it with the track empty and it was making the noise every 10 seconds or so, obviously a problem with it.
June 18, 201312 yr comment_161200 I nearly pooped myself last time I went on this. The ride is very attractive to look at and had gorgeous curves. The lift hill is really freaky cuz of how fast it is.
June 19, 201312 yr comment_161374 Fury was closed for an hour or two today during the afternoon. A woman at the entrance talking to a member of staff made me giggle, "Well if it's broken go get someone to f***ing fix it don't just stand there"... Aren't people lovely. On ride photos weren't happening either, I went to view mine and it was just picture after picture of track. The man behind the counter said something about the ride running fast, I don't know how true that is.
June 20, 201312 yr comment_161410 Possibly true. Fury runs a lot faster in hot weather and yesterday was scorching.
July 19, 201312 yr comment_163611 All depends about the weight of the car. I can't remember spinball spinning at all on my last ride because the car was evenly waited, but the 3 adults rule on Fury allows you to put the two heaviest in the back and the car will spin very well from the first drop.
July 19, 201312 yr comment_163636 We always get a mega spin on Fury, we always put heavy people in once side and kids in the other
September 3, 201312 yr comment_167613 Did Dragon Fury ever look like this? : I would presume so, considering that's a photo of it...
September 3, 201312 yr comment_167615 Nah, it never looked like that. Ever. Now, forget that image. And all other images of it when new.
September 3, 201312 yr comment_167630 Tbh like most coasters (at the Merlin parks), the coaster doesn't look as fresh, new or awesome as it used to be, plus the ride's red supports are fading as well as the track getting more brown marks and could perhaps do with a paint job in the next years (not that it probably will).
September 3, 201312 yr comment_167631 I agree that Fury could do with a paint job, especially given the fact that it is a very visible ride from throughout the park. However, given the park's current state there are much higher priority things that need sorting first.
September 3, 201312 yr comment_167645 To be honest rattlesnake requires more attention than fury. But hopefully with the re-theme of the minetrain and Mexicana area, maybe this may happen
September 17, 201311 yr comment_168687 Has anyone noticed that Dragons Fury shakes like mad? We asked the ride team and they said it was designed to do that, but every time a car goes down the first drop, the lift hill shakes like mad! Was wondering if anyone knew why?
September 17, 201311 yr comment_168689 I think you answered your own question there! Te lift shakes because of the weight of the cars on it, and the track is built to be flexible so that it doesn't simply break when under forces. Even more forceful rollercoasters flex slightly when the train goes past, it's just not as noticeable as on spinning coasters. And some wooden coasters shake a lot!
September 17, 201311 yr comment_168690 It's literally nothing to worry about. Many coasters are designed so that the track can 'shake' to relieve some tension and strain on the track itself or something (I'm sure Benin or someone else with more ride engineering than me can explain a bit better than me!). Another coaster you can see it on is Saw; watch the dive loop after a car passes through it! I think I read a rumour on here somewhere that if Fury was built a few years later, they'd have built the lift hill with more supports so it didn't shake so much, but I'm not sure how reputable the person who said it was. September 17, 201311 yr comment_168693 Yeah, Stealth's top hat also shakes so technically, the ride is safer shaking a little than not doing so at all while in motion,

Nah, you're right, easiest comparisons are buildings that are built in earthquake zones and designed to shake because otherwise they'll just collapse... If the track has no ability to move at all, then it's more likely to have faults within it... You can see it on Nemesis after the Zero-G that it happens quite severely, but for the most part the track motion is un-noticeable... I always found it quite entertaining how it would make people so worried about riding it...
September 18, 201311 yr comment_168751 If they worry about a coaster structure shaking tell them to watch the wings on the next aircraft they fly in - they are designed to, 'cos otherwise they'd snap, and likewise with tolerances built into rides.
September 18, 201311 yr comment_168758 Surely there is a point where metal fatigue becomes a problem though? Sturdy but flexible has got to be better than out ant out wobbly, hasn't it? In terms of life of the ride and track repair requirements that is, I'm not suggesting it is in any way unsafe.
September 18, 201311 yr comment_168763 It's a weird one really and would be dependant on the situation... As these single supports have to work harder to hold the ride up due to the minimalistic approach... Think it's just the way they went about it... If it was more solid, it would probably have more fatigue in the Fury case... A rather weird case is Fury...
