Benin
It's an undercoat, pretty much every coaster in the world has this, you don't just paint directly onto metal... Strange this is being done mid-season mind...
Ian-S
Paint doesn't like being applied in the cold of winter.
holtjammy16
Would it just be something to do with seeing cracks like they did with Slammer? Why would they only paint an undercoat on that small section and then a crossbeam on the cobra roll D:
JoshC.
A few more sections being painted... From UK Theme Parks FB Certainly an odd thing to being doing in May. One really has to wonder what the reason for it is at this stage? But hey, could be a positive sign?!
Coaster
Repainting the entire ride would be a lengthy process, so if this is the start of that then I can see why they are starting it now. It could just be to do with maintenance or track repairs though so I'm not holding out any hopes for a complete repaint yet.
James Allgood
I can see the ride having lots of work done to it before wc16 opens EC!
Tom
Maybe the aim is to do the whole undercoat before the closed season and then whack on some fresh (hopefully more durable) paint in the closed season? pognoi
Marc
Can only be a good thing - despite what people think Tp do care about the presentation of the park and they won't just have random bits of grey track. MachoMachine and Cal
Matt 236
If Colossus receives it's (forever long speculated) repaint, I will let the park off everything negative thing they've done this season apart from Slammer Kerfuffle and Jack F
Ian-S
I'm sorry but they'll have to do more than paint Colossus to make up for I'm a celeb. /sarcasm
alexander
Colossus REPAINT? Do you know what this means?!? We will have less to complain about during closed season meaning we can only moan about Loggers tunnel, the rumoured Top Spin for 2016, and the removal of Storm Surge, ugh </3 Kerfuffle and JoshC.

SteveJ
Aren't you the one who leaves patronising, sarcastic comments on all my posts? No that's me, although I thought it was you leaving sarcastic comments on my posts? Who-nose.Colossus repaint. Thank Doc, they've really been wanting to do it for years as much as enthusiasts and guests. Even if it's just small parts at least paperwork and money isn't getting in the way anymore
alexander
On a serious note I'm ecstatic about this
TraX
Are we back to a 2 train op yet, or are they still struggling after so many of their maintenance team walked out?
Coaster
Are we back to a 2 train op yet, or are they still struggling after so many of their maintenance team walked out? Did this actually happen? If so, why?

TraX
No, they're 'waiting for parts' not struggling with staffing. ;-)
Ian-S
Are we back to a 2 train op yet, or are they still struggling after so many of their maintenance team walked out? Are you talking back to 2 trains in 2015, or back to 2 trains this week? It was running two trains the last bank holiday weekend.
Celia Mae
I think they're back to the saying of "We'll add the second train when there's enough demand".
Matt 236
Colossus has been cursed with one train operations since the beginning of time, The day thorpe put it on two all the day will be amazing!
Cal
Last year I thought they were pretty good with one train op compared to previous years. Most mornings when I got there at 9:30 it was ready on 2 trains. I believe if it is back on 2 now, may not be in the week due to it being off peak, but it's not just Colossus one 1 train. Speaking of trains, is X back on 3?
Coaster
I think they're back to the saying of "We'll add the second train when there's enough demand". Yeah, the trouble is I've seen them say that when there's a 90 minute queue, there clearly is demand but they can't see that. Too many parks in this country go by gate figures rather than looking at the actual queue with regard to ride capacity, but that's just my opinion.
