JoshC.
Whilst I agree the experience of Oblivion is great, the 'track and train' element just doesn't do it for me. As such, that reflects on my overall judgement of the attraction. Probably haven't explained any of this that well, but can't think how to word it. Oblivion as a whole attraction is okay, as the experience is great, but the 'track and train' element lets it down. I guess it boils down to how we separate rides from experiences, and how we're judging attractions.
Fred
Doesn't need a layout, it does exactly what it says on the tin. It's amazing. Mark9
pluk
The gentle but startling stinging on your face as you fall into the hole on a cold damp Scarefest night. Bliss. MikeC and Luke_A
AstroDan
Whilst Oblivion is short - it does, as has been said, exactly what it sets out to do. It's better value for riders than a drop tower, in any case. Although. I do feel that the Oblivion experience is sometimes hampered by the maintenance. Tom
Being such a young thing I have only remembered Oblivion as being grey. It looks so much more menacing in black! Liam T and Cornflakes
Liam T
But seriously, this is fantastic. Oblivion is BLACK! And looks fantastic, comparing the gray & the black together, super excited. holtjammy16

RideAddict
Now this repaint has started it's not looking as bad as I first feared. I'm assuming they'll repaint the supports too?

pluk
Now this repaint has started it's not looking as bad as I first feared. I'm assuming they'll repaint the supports too? Feared? It will always be a massive improvement when they bring a coaster back up to the standard it once was and something people like us have been calling for for years. It is going to look superb, as it was designed to. What was you fearing?

Mer
Oh wow My first time to Towers was 2007 so I only remember it being grey. The pictures so far are superb Will they be sprucing up the cars too? I believe the restraints have faded, would be nice to see them lovely and orange again (and any other parts of the cars if they're faded)
pluk
They did a couple of the cars last year (or maybe the year before?), which was nice but it just made the old knackered ones look even worse! Hopefully they'll referb the rest as part of this.
Mark9
Just waiting for Colossus repaint It's always Colossus isn't it. What about rides like Vampire which have been screaming for a repaint for 23 years... SteveJ and RideAddict
Benin
Probably because Colossus isn't just faded, it's covered in oil as well... Therefore looks filthier... Then again, Runaway could do with a repaint, when was the last time that happened?
MikeC
RMT doesn't need a repaint - It's one of the few rides in the park that gets away with having zero attention. Real world mine trains don't look that colourful and new, after all

MikeC
Ah, well that's different. I can't say I've noticed any foam, either.
Mattgwise
Very nice. Lets hope it lasts longer, they say they are using a better quality paint. Colossus can get away with looking old and run down, after all it themed to an old ancient lost city. The only thing I hate is the large amount of rust all over the ride which makes it look worse
Doc
I think some people (including me sometimes), are just afraid of change. So long as they weren't going to paint it Bright orange, I was more than happy for it to receive a repaint. It can't stay that rusty grey forever. Coaster
It's always Colossus isn't it. What about rides like Vampire which have been screaming for a repaint for 23 years... At least Vampire looking old and rusted sort of fits in with the theme. Colossus is supposed to look spectacular and stand out etc, not rusty and covered in oil. To be honest I would like to see the whole Colossus area cleaned up, not just a repaint.

The pictures so far are superb Will they be sprucing up the cars too? I believe the restraints have faded, would be nice to see them lovely and orange again (and any other parts of the cars if they're faded) The ride cars have been gradually sorted out over the past year or so. They attempted, badly, in 2011 (ish) to paint over some of the more worn restraints, but long term, they have ended up looking worst as paint has cracked off, leaving the faded mess behind anyway. Some of the cars already were looking good, with all new restraints. Hopefully, they'll sort the remaining few out, and possibly tart some of them up too - like where guests put their feet, a lot of the paint was going. Colossus is supposed to look spectacular and stand out etc, not rusty and covered in oil. To be honest I would like to see the whole Colossus area cleaned up, not just a repaint. By that logic, it's supposed to be a lost city. Generally things that have been lost through time, aren't in tip-top condition.
