September 22, 201311 yr comment_168967 I never got to ride the old Samurai, but I've rode speed wave at flamingo land which is alot faster, but it does something similar to that where it stops in the middle, which is so fun, probably the best part. Couldn't help but notice saw stuck, don't even know how it stops there?
September 22, 201311 yr comment_168982 I've been on a fairground circuit one at Funderworld called Top Buzz a couple of times, and it's run on such an intense setting, it doesn't become fun because it feels like you're being dragged sideways out the seat, whist forcing yourself to try and keep your legs in, as it hurts letting them fling outwards (well it hurts either way) - and actually prefer samurai on a tamer setting... but admittedly since riding it for the first time in 2009 when it was amazing, it has got worse every year unfortunately :/
September 28, 201311 yr comment_169421 Can we have the return of the piano theme please Thorpe? I know it doesn't really suit samurai but the piece of music is amazing and I really enjoyed it while people were boarding. Now there is no music and I think it is boring without music! Please bring it back or bring a new tune Thorpe
September 28, 201311 yr comment_169424 Someone posted last month to say it had returned. If its gone again I agree. Bring it back Thorpe. Much more atmospheric during the loading procedure. I think it does fit actually James. Its like the calm before the storm.
September 29, 201311 yr comment_169503 It is actually my favourite ride at Thorpe, with a good cycle it can be great. Fun, fast and intense. Although the parallel parking they do to land the thing again has taken a while at times. I wouldn't mind it just landing the way it already is when it finishes the cycle, but I guess it's down to health and safety.
October 7, 201311 yr comment_170113 Don't know whether it was just because it was night. Or because the ride had no queue. Or because I had a pod to myself. But Samurai was kicking major butt after about 6pm last night. Really good ride after some 'ok' ones earlier in the day.
October 13, 201311 yr comment_170501 Samurai was closed all day today, no engineers working on it either. Was exited to hear the fright nights theme but no
October 13, 201311 yr comment_170508 It's clear it can't handle being run on a decent setting as on FN preview night it was running one of the faster settings and what then happens? The thing breaks again. What's the betting it doesn't reopen at all between now and end of season?

October 13, 201311 yr comment_170535 No work was being done on it today! It was just sitting there all alone by itself... Poor samurai
October 13, 201311 yr comment_170543 so it's been broke since friday - as it failed to open then, after a few hours of testing / trying they gave up, and stuck a sign at the entrance. if they haven't bothered doing anything a few days later, I'm not keeping my hopes up that it will be open for my trip on friday, or even when I go in half term - reckon it will be closed for the season now! (if only it broke earlier, like last year then they could do major maintenance and then open it back up in time for fright nights haha)
October 13, 201311 yr comment_170544 99% of the time if a rides sat there closed with no work being done to it will most likely be awaiting parts!
October 15, 201311 yr comment_170661 Seeing as thorpe have put a picture of samurai on their homepage, I presume it's reopen? Otherwise that is just purely false advertising...
October 16, 201311 yr comment_170682 It's not really false advertising they don't need to remove every trace of a ride when it's closed.. Although I'm sure it will be bank open soon

October 16, 201311 yr comment_170685 The thing is, the park are covered by their T&Cs, which say all rides are subject to availability. Not saying it's the best thing to do, but the park aren't doing anything technically wrong.
October 16, 201311 yr comment_170707 Yes I know, I didn't really mean it like that. I was just saying it will be very misleading as people will go thinking they will be able to ride samurai in the dark but then they won't be... Sorry for double post!Samurai is still closed, as my friend went yesterday and it was still shut. Hope it reopens soon! Edited October 18, 201311 yr by Tommy Double post, easily rectified.
October 20, 201311 yr comment_170922 Samurai was also shut last night, with no apparent signs of life. I have no idea what's up with the ride, but having two rides down at peak time in the park, definitely isn't a good thing.
October 25, 201311 yr comment_171229 It will be closed all season now as they waiting on a part that will take 2 weeks to arrive
October 26, 201311 yr comment_171269 Just because trust me unless they can grab or make shift the part it won't reopen this year
October 27, 201311 yr comment_171304 Apparently It was back open today according to someone who visited today on facebook dunno if its true though anymore thoughts on this ?
October 27, 201311 yr comment_171309 I'd like to think that news is true, considering it's been closed on my last 2 visits, and really want it to be open on tuesday!
