Project LC
Oh I never said they treated them well, I just said they offer rewards for good performance.

AstroDan
Alton Towers have really upped it since opening day. Yesterday was the best day I have had at the park for at least 2 years. Operations were amazing. Coaster and Kerfuffle
Weeksy
Not sure I'd get straight back on it... personally think they'll have a struggle reopening. Its a shame because its a great ride, but its really hit the press. Â Although, I suppose that's mainly the times we live in - all the twitter feeds and live updates do build the story more than it would have in the past. Â Such a sad day, do hope these people have a quick recovery - last thing you expect on a pleasant day out.

Matt 236
Whilst it's been a very gloomy couple of weeks for Towers, there's finally some good news! The food Loop style restaurant proposed for Forbidden Valley has now been approved at the park as well as a hotel extension (which I'm not sure what's happening there). Source Towersstreet Can't wait to see this restaurant launch at the park next season.

AstroDan
The patch Alton Towers is going through at the moment is very difficult. Â A lot of rides are suffering, not least The Smiler. Ripsaw, Th13teen, Rita and Nemesis Sub Terra all have technical issues at the moment. Â - Th13teen has problems with the hydraulics and has only been using 2 of 3 trains. - Nemesis Sub Terra has had the restraint redesign which means too many people can't ride. - Rita is just throwing a hissy fit. Quite rare for Rita as she's quite reliable these days. - Ripsaw... no idea. Â It's so unusual for so many rides to have problems at AT!I hope they get back on track soon. JoshC.
Worth noting that Th13teen was on three trains yesterday and was running well for most of the day. Handled the lack of Rita in the Dark Forest.
OldFarmerDean
Worth noting that Th13teen was on three trains yesterday and was running well for most of the day. Handled the lack of Rita in the Dark Forest. Â One of the trains was going round empty all day though, or at least on the occasions I went on it, and was around the dark forest. AstroDan
Rita re-opened today. It just wouldn't launch yesterday.
OldFarmerDean
Rita re-opened today. It just wouldn't launch yesterday. Â what about sub terra or ripsaw? didn't check ridetimes today... was annoying we spotted sub terra was open for a little bit in the morning and then closed the rest of the day yesterday! pognoi
Rita re-opened today. It just wouldn't launch yesterday. Â Rita was launching well for the whole last half hour or so yesterday. There was lots of activity in the area which was good, but a shame they couldn't get it open to the public.
Matt 236
Ripsaw is closed and currently covered in scaffolding, random essential maintenance or beginning of the end? So many ride problems at towers at the moment. Aside from Smiler sbno, enterprise, thi3teen,Rita and sub-terra are all having technical difficulties apparently. Mitchada04
Not exactly uncommon. Rita is like Stealth, has massive stretches of little downtime then gets hit by something. Ripsaw is just old, like Rameses, it's long overdue departure. Enterprise was meant to leave instead of Submission as it was more problematic and the older but stayed. Sub Terra has got the new restraint thing which will be settling in and 13 is always an odd one because the ride is plagued with problems from the word go (good job Intamin). Not great, but for those rides it's not unheard of.
Benin
We're looking at a period now especially where flat rides are being ignored as potential additions... And when they get removed, we end up with fewer rides overall... Look at Dark Forest as an example of how bad this can make an area... Â The ABC attractions in Merlin have been part of an over-arching experience, which is fair enough, but there's still places for flats in the industry... holtjammy16
AstroDan
Sub Terra is down due to the restraints being too restrictive. They need to work on them.
Project LC
Hope it is the beginning of the end for Ripsaw. It may encourage them to invest in some sort of flat ride, something the park needs.

Matt 236
Unfortunately, flats by generally all main parks at the moment are being ignored or even culled, give thorpe 10 years and it'll probably be just quantum & detonator left. At the moment Towers ride strategy seems to be to build roller coasters, kids rides, roller coasters, kids rides and the odd dark ride. Kerfuffle
At the moment Towers ride strategy seems to be to build roller coasters, kids rides, roller coasters, kids rides and the odd dark ride. We haven't had a proper dark ride since 2001 with Hex. Nemesis Sub-Terra is as good as quadruple lifts inside a shipping container.
