Now the hotel is open have created it a new topic separate to the one following its construction / Plans. Am quite impressed with it so far, the Reception area is themed well, like the little touches of the Thorpe Park signage. The style of it all reminds me of Alton Towers in a way, which is a good thing. The rooms are of a good quality, slightly bigger too but that may be only noticeable if you've stayed in the old Crash Pad. Quite impressed with the TV system, probably one of the better ones I've seen in a hotel.

dont know if anyone has noticed, there has been an update to the thorpe park app with the new 2014 map.....quite a change!

Seeing as there's already 6 MoS nights planned this year, I thought a topic should be made..! (That's if there isn't one already?? Maybe move this to General Discussion if not) It's great to see these nights becoming an integral part of Thorpe's calendar! Information on the new "Waterfront Hotel" has been released. http://www.thorpepark.com/waterfront-hotel/ This is definitely pushing the family market much more it would seem. Also, loving the use of the wingrider at Heide Park for the canvas in the room, new ride for 2014 sorted.

Seeing that the Swarm came tops, I thought I'd do another poll similar but this time which coaster everyone likes the best in the dark/night time at Thorpe. Things to consider your choice/s are Coherence to the theme Lighting (as too much ruins the effect) Interaction to surroundings (at night)

Thorpe Park have released another live band performance in the dome, Anttix. This is a free event included in the ticket (I'm assuming this apply's to Annual Pass holders as well). Whilst I'm sure I'm not the only one who has never heard of this band (or single player judging by one the videos I have watched. On stage 4pm - 6pm. Thorpe Park have just posted on their facebook page: Picture this…the gates close for the day, but we’re not done yet! If THORPE PARK reopened exclusively for late night summer riding on our top six coasters for a strictly limited number of guests at a bargain price…would you come? Could this suggest that they are planning this in the future? Discuss my unicorns!

Now I for one do not believe that this is true, however it does seem to have alot of weight behind it. Many people over on Towerstimes seem to believe that Sonic Spinball will be relocated to another Merlin park. Most think it will be Thorpe Park. Weeks ago I would have just laughed it off, but since the removal of the "fat heads" and the realization on Merlins behalf that Thorpe Park need more family rides...it could be true. We now that Alton Towers plan to move Sonic Spinball anyway as documented in their LTDP published 2 years ago or so and I personally would say it would be a waste of money to move a roller coaster like that to a different location within the same…

Today at THORPE PARK they are filming their summer advert, is this a thing they usually do because I don't remember them having a separate one? They tweeted earlier that they have just finished filming on Depth Charge, this could be trying to show how THORPE PARK is suitable for all ages as they have changed their target audience recently. If anyone has any pictures/videos of the filming post here please.

The Discovery Channel documentary about John Wardley that was filmed last summer at Thorpe Park is being shown next month on the UK Quest Channel (Freeview channel 38). It is in the "World's Strangest Jobs" series. Provisional dates and times are 17, 19, 21 or 22 July, but this might change. It is the documentary that John mentioned in his autobiography, and features Emma Bassett, whose life was saved by a ride on Colossus!
