April 11, 20169 yr comment_232103 Unfortunately with how merlin operates there is bo easy answer to providing accurate queue lenghts as there are far to many variables I could say that with every ride operator in any theme park in the world.
April 11, 20169 yr comment_232104 They are currently looking to employ somone who's job it is to Maintain the information on the LED boards - job is on the Merlin job site.
April 11, 20169 yr comment_232105 It probably doesn't help accuracy when the operators wait until everybody has exited the station before opening the air gates to let the next lot on, we sat on the brake run for 4 minutes while they unload and loaded the other train yesterday.
April 11, 20169 yr comment_232124 Colossus wont allow dispatch unless all the bars are in the raised position together so its not as simple as some other coasters to just open the gates straight a way
April 11, 20169 yr comment_232134 Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.... But didn't Colossus's train restraints used to go up by them selfs? Or is it my old age playing tricks on me
April 11, 20169 yr comment_232140 Once you push them they'll go up by themselves, sometimes, if you push hard enough, it's the others (Inferno, Swarm and Stealth that go up by themselves, assuming you've undone the belt buckle beforehand). Yesterday one of the trains had the rear two rows of seats completely shut off and the restraints were permanently tied down, so explain that one lol.
April 11, 20169 yr comment_232141 Infernos restraints do not go up themselves as it is a simple ratchet system while stealth, swarms and saws are a hydraulic based system.
April 11, 20169 yr comment_232142 Inferno does however use hydrolic rams similar to a car boot they just need changing
April 11, 20169 yr comment_232148 I thought Stealth has a double ratchet system? I'm pretty sure you have to push up Stealth's restraints
April 11, 20169 yr comment_232152 I thought Stealth has a double ratchet system? I'm pretty sure you have to push up Stealth's restraints Incorrect, they raise automatically.
April 11, 20169 yr comment_232153 Stealth restraints raise themselves. I should make it clear that I simplified the systems a lot. They are far more complex than a hydraulic cylinder or a ratchet.
April 11, 20169 yr comment_232155 Incorrect, they raise automatically. If you are patient enough to let them do so by themselves
April 11, 20169 yr comment_232157 If you are patient enough to let them do so by themselves But non the less, they still raise automatically
April 11, 20169 yr comment_232168 Stealth's restraints raise automatically, but if you sat and waited for them to rise all the way up then everyone else would be out of the bag drop and halfway down the exit!
April 11, 20169 yr comment_232175 Stealth's restraints raise automatically, but if you sat and waited for them to rise all the way up then everyone else would be out of the bag drop and halfway down the exit! Be that as it may, the question wasn't whether most people riding have the patience to wait for the restraints to raise. The question was whether they raise automatically or not, which again, they do. Question answered, don't know where patience comes into this query

The question was whether they raise automatically or not, which again, they do. Question answered, don't know where patience comes into this query It explains why some people may remember having to push the restraints to exit rather than the fact that they open automatically.
April 11, 20169 yr comment_232188 False memories caused by impatience are not fact Find me anywhere where I have stated it is a fact? I said that it explains why some people may remember pushing up the bar, not that it doesn't go up automatically. I really feel as if you're splitting hairs over nothing with this. Also, it's not impatience, I push the bar up so I can be off the train quicker leading to less congestion at the bag hold and ultimately higher throughput!
April 11, 20169 yr comment_232190 Can we take all the kerfuffle about restraints to another thread? It's great to hear Colossus' throughputs have soared since the return of two train operations!

April 11, 20169 yr comment_232194 Can you please restrain yourself from backseat modding? But we all know the backseat is the best
