Fred
Subway was obviously heavily thought of in the past, because it even appeared in the T&Cs of where we couldn't get discount on park. Just don't think you'd ever be able to get the volume right for a theme park subway.
Ricky
They would indeed need a lot of staff and a monstrous amount of stations, I personally don't think it ever would of worked in a busy park, although their breakfast menu is the bomb! JoshC.
Imagine the busiest Subway you've been to at lunch time, ten times busier. That would be a theme park Subway all the time... *shudders* Inferno and MattyMoo
BigBobJones
Well if not Subway, then a branch of Greggs! Who can resist their sausage rolls :-) Whiteknuckle, FrightNights04, StealthRider and 1 other
Altitude
^ I can. They're full of gristle and the meat tastes disgusting a lot of the time. I even prefer the ones at Morrisons.

Kerfuffle
Just a thought, was this announcement ever used in the station? (This is one of my unlisted vids BTW): http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=KYpHD0BHr1o Coaster
Ricky
Yes! It was the first launch soundtrack, I think it was removed due to lack of safety information during the launch or something.
pluk
This is absolutely what the launch track is in my head, what does it say these days then?
Ricky
It's - " Place your head's back, face forwards, ......... 3 2 1 go go go!" That one is " Ready to go, looking good, heads back hold tight.... 3 2 1 go go go" C'mon pete it's been like this since like 2007! pluk
Haha, I'm really observant huh? I guess my brain just wants to remember the clearly superior original announcement. I wonder if it shorter because that better fits the time it takes the ride to actually launch? Otherwise why not just replace the 'hold tight' with 'face forwards', if that was what was required safety wise.
SteveJ
I didnt realised the change when it happened but I remember that now. The voice is barely any different but the little feedback whine instantly takes me back to standing in the Stealth queue in 2006. The familiar new one is slightly longer and doesn't always have time to play the whole way through. It's: "Place your heads back, face forward, hold on tight and brace yourself!" With lots of revving sounds.
Ricky
The hold on tight and brace yourselves is the station ambience while the train is being loaded Tom
Whiteknuckle
Thought that sounded familiar
Fred
Wonder if it was for safety, when considering Ritas now says: Keep your heads back. Hold on tight. You must escape. Go Go................... *sips some tea*... GO. Altitude, Ricky, StealthRider and 3 others
pluk
Ritas should surely now say: Keep your heads back. Hold on tight. Protect your face from the red hot splinters of metal shrapnel. You must escape. Go Go GO. Whiteknuckle, Inferno, EC! and 5 others

GladiatorFanKyle
Stealth should be open when I go on the 27th right?..... I didn't get to go on it last august as they had replaced the launch cable and it was being silly!

Matt 236
There's a 99% chance Stealth will be open on the day you're visiting. Although the ride was closed for a hefty time towards the end of the 2012 season with Colossus (due to maintenance work I believe), the ride seemed very reliable last year and was up and running each time I visited with no major downtime on any of those days. OldFarmerDean
Just a thought... I wonder why thorpe didn't seize the opportunity to have the highest coaster in the UK when they built stealth, with the big one only being a few feet taller than what stealth is!?
