Project LC
I'll just stand in this dark corner of the forum and wait for paramount park. jjh123horry
Cal
About capacity, people on Facebook have been complaining that it's been taking over 5 minutes to unload and load Octonauts. Over 5 minutes to get 14 people off and on a ride is ridiculous.
Matt 236
When Paramount opens, I hope Merlin fail epically (unless they learn from their mistakes). Towers is going down hill fast Thorpe is still in the centre of its normal issues (though lots of cheeky price picks now) Chessington seems to be between a rock and a hard place. Legoland seem to be the only one doing the right decisions this year, increasing driving & boating schools capacity (with a refresh) and retheming the town area (which was dated) plus diggers getting replaced by a disko coaster potentially smoke gat other things. Ian-S
About capacity, people on Facebook have been complaining that it's been taking over 5 minutes to unload and load Octonauts. Over 5 minutes to get 14 people off and on a ride is ridiculous. They must have drafted in the Brainiac half term operators of Flying Fish from Thorpe Park then, cos they were that bad back then. AstroDan
Octonauts had 20 dispatches per hour and completed 2 circuits.
Benin
I wouldn't be surprised if it would take 5 minutes to unload/load, between the new staff on it AND the randomness that young children bring to a ride (parents taking photos of child on ride, child refusing to leave ride, etc)... Â Hopefully over the year they'll find a way of telling parents to bugger off and buy the ORP if they desperately want a pic of little Timmy on the ride... AstroDan
It definitely wasn't taking 5 minutes when I rode. Around 3 it was.
Mark9
Appalling day today. Terrible capacity on some rides, masses of late openings and removal of SRQ in some cases. Not managed to do anywhere near all the coasters. This place is going down. Â pluk, Liam T, Whiteknuckle and 1 other
Whiteknuckle
Going for my birthday next month on the way back from flamingoland and Blackpool. Hope standards have raised a bit by then.
holtjammy16
Making my way up tomorrow and leaving on Wednesday, not sure which thread the thing about nemesis being closed when it first rains at the beginning of the season is in but does that mean if it's raining tomorrow it'll likely be shut?
AstroDan
It is not likely to be closed. One of the trains was running in February so it has probably run itself in now. It might have to go to low capacity, or they might close certain rows. Â
holtjammy16
ah well that's alright, it's the first time I ever heard about the rust thing so wasn't sure, to be fair I went the same date last year and it was running fine

Liam T
I don't have the energy to rant about how disappointing every season is becoming. Â I'm starting to question by I pay stupid amounts of money for a MAP every season to be greeted with attractions opening half way through the day, broken effects and running rides on half the capacity they're capable of. EC!
From Towers times.   After the recent outcry over operational changes for the new season, Alton Towers have amended some of their staggered openings. On weekdays: Rita, Th13teen, Skyride, Cloud Cuckoo Land, Hex, Ripsaw, Congo River Rapids, The Flume, and Nemesis: Sub Terra, will all open at 11am. At weekends: Ripsaw, Congo River Rapids, The Flume, and Nemesis Sub:Terra, will open at 11am with all other rides opening with the park. However, opening hours for this weekend have been reduced, with the park now closing at 5pm on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, instead of the previously advertised 5:30pm. What are your thoughts on these latest changes? Source:  I think it is terrible this, the fact that so many rides will have staggered opening and the fact it is now closing earlier. Its just not acceptable...
Mitchada04
Yeah, the Park over easter holidays was originally 5:30 close but it's all 5 close now. I hope the weekend opening times of only Flume Rapids Ripsae and ST is also the case for school holidays so 13 and Rita open at 10.
pognoi
I'm not sure how true this is but my brother went to Alton Towers on Monday and told me Th13teen was shut. he went on to say the attendant outside it said it was going to be closed until October. this is probably a pile of dog poop my little brother said to stop me from taking him to AT to ride it, however I just want to confirm this isn't true? Coaster
5pm on Easter Holidays? Â That is absolute rubbish!
Matt 236
Whilst it's good they've u-turned this petty staggered openings to what they should always be, still think it's disapointing we're seeing only 5pm park closings over the weekend, should be at least 6pm. AstroDan
Alton Towers has had poor closing times for many, many years apart from the last 3 weeks of the season when it extends to 9pm. Â They obviously don't get KPI issues with them otherwise they'd open later.
Mattgwise
A minor fire had supposedly started earlier in the forbidden Valley fish and chips restaurant according to towers times Facebook page. Mitchada04
Maybe it was just trying to help the clearing of land for SW8... or was purely meant for the skyride and missed. Kerfuffle
