January 22, 201312 yr comment_148800 Actually the website just says the swarm HAS mutated. So I think it will still be called the swarm... I am actually excited about this, I have never been on a backwards rollercoaster with inversions so this should be good The only problem is everyone will be queueing for back row meaning that you will have to wait for ages to get on or you can buy a back row fastrack for £8! YEY! When I visit on an empty day(hopefully) this year, I still think that the swarm will have a long queue but life goes on. I really wanna go in the very back row because you will be able to see where your going, but backwards! I am so excited for the swarm!
January 22, 201312 yr comment_148803 I love how this has COMPLETELY overshadowed The Smiler's Name reveal. This act of so called desperation has got all of us talking so thorpe got the publicity it wanted and now the GP who have seen this will now want to ride it. Yes the queue system will probably be a nightmare but this gimmick almost certainly means more Dosh for Thorpe. Hopefully thorpe would have known Enthusiasts would disapprove so they will try and make it the best experience they've created so far... Even though the main reason behind it was to bring more customers in.
January 22, 201312 yr comment_148821 Backwards Oblivion? New for 2013 at the Alton Towers Resort , BACKWARDS OBLIVION
January 22, 201312 yr comment_148822 Backwards oblivion I think would be epic, just imagining plunging into that hole backwards But saying that, that would be taking this backwards thing way too far...
January 22, 201312 yr comment_148826 I was just thinking, you don't suppose this "New Near Miss" is just going to be the fire effect, but actually working at full capacity for once? Sounds like the Merlin way of doing things to me...
January 22, 201312 yr comment_148827 Be dragged backwards into a blind 127ft drop before hurtling through the wasted landscape in a series of gut-wrenching near misses, including, new for 2013, the mangled metal of a devastated billboard. It is definitely a 'brand new' piece of theming! I don't quite get why people have said that that is redundant though? 5/7 of the train will still see it, and it will no doubt help add to the overall atmosphere and visual impact of the ride. How can that be redundant?
January 22, 201312 yr comment_148828 I love how this has COMPLETELY overshadowed The Smiler's Name reveal. Not particularly, we are on a thorpe park forum though.
January 22, 201312 yr comment_148829 Its good that they are adding to the theming but never in a million years did I think that a mangled billboard was going to even be publicised as a "new addition" for 2013. It just makes them sound like they are really clutching at straws here... I mean really they added a new water pump fountain (which didn't last long) onto Rumba Rapids, where was the "new for this season" advertising for that? And then when they changed the Vortex restraints to blue; such missed advertising revenue there
January 23, 201312 yr comment_148830 A mangled billboard AND some shipping containers. What do you mean?, it is a great year...
January 23, 201312 yr comment_148831 Aslong as they invest money into the general infustructure of the park too, I think it should be a good year pretty good year really.
January 23, 201312 yr comment_148832 I hope they've added a near miss like this... Think it'd look awesome but don't quite know where they would put it!
January 23, 201312 yr comment_148834 Aslong as they invest money into the general infustructure of the park too, I think it should be a good year pretty good year really. A very big "if" when it comes to Thorpe though... Infrastructure does not mean high numbers of Fastrack either...
January 23, 201312 yr comment_148839 I hope they've added a near miss like this... Think it'd look awesome but don't quite know where they would put it! Not the most effect head/foot chopper there, although I agree with you that it is visually appealing.
January 23, 201312 yr comment_148852 Suggests X is most definitely getting a refurb then. Please give some of that TLC to Colossus and the whole park too!
January 23, 201312 yr comment_148893 Scott Pollard I'm just waiting for the Colossus re-paint That's the most needed thing. Supports, track, and give the station a little more life.

January 23, 201312 yr comment_148905 Good point Ryan I still hope X No Way Out has some improvments made this year
January 29, 201312 yr comment_149200 THORPE PARK Official Tuesday trivia! Do you know what the theme is for our iconic ride X:\No Way Out? They do it on purpose to tease us, I swear!
January 29, 201312 yr comment_149202 They sure know how to get us enthusiasts ruffled. This is either a clue, or they are just doing it to wind us up. (fingers crossed))
January 29, 201312 yr comment_149204 I think they've just forgotten what the theme is. To which the answer is: There ain't one thorpe, there just aint one.
January 29, 201312 yr comment_149208 The thing is, I don't think "Tuesday Trivia" was ever a thing the Thorpe facebook page actually did. Seems like a weird subject to start it off with.
