So, the new movie themed park is well under way now! I know it's a little late but here are some photos from May 2013, showing the newer style Colossus taking shape: Looking Similar: New style of drop: Moving on to June 2013 now: And for some reason the final inversion is through a tunnel I've got to say, the new style of the clone is much more pleasing to look at, the inlines seem much more open with a fraction of the supports and I can only assume that to be down to the tri-railed track making it strong? Or Intamin realised it looked somewhat ugly to have a support every 5 foot! Photos used from TheParks.it, the rest of th construction galllery can be fo…

Six Flags do like announcing everything at once don't they? Following on from Magic Mountain's Lex Luthor, and the trend of ugly American rides comes Zumajaro: Drop of Doom!

Surprised after yesterday's announcement of the new coaster (replacing Son of Beast, which I'll forever hate the park for closing for good shortly before my visit back in 2009)... Banshee is an Inverted B&M and will apparently be the longest in the world... And it looks like they've taken inspiration from the excellent OzIris at Asterix with the layout... Here's a few videos to tide you over... HYPE! Especially over the colour scheme

A weird mix of the American counterparts and home of the delightfully unique Space Fantasy Mack Spinning Coaster, this park have recently debuted a Resident Evil (Biohazard) variation on the scare maze genre with the addition of guns... Groups of 8 enter and do the usual stick of destroying whichever class virus this one focuses on... Sounds like an interesting idea and a neat addition to the park... It's also led to this food offering... Source - http://kotaku.com/a-frightening-look-inside-japans-newest-resident-evil-833310331

This photo has caught alot of attention by the international coaster community. Dollywood representatives have been spotted in Europa Park owned by Mack, riding all the rides, there is strong suggestions that they will be building a Mack launch coaster, backed up with the blast slogan above and the fact they don't have a launch coaster whereas their rival park Silver Dollar City do in the form of Powder Keg. Although that some think it will be another woodie. This information was initially found on coasterforce who inturn, found the Europa information on Screamscape. Even if it isn't a launch coaster something big is coming. Lets Discuss! (would love to this park it look…

Tripsdrill's new Gerstlauer launched coaster 'KARACHO' is looking mighty fine! The coaster has been marketed as having the lap-bar trains and features a rolling LSM launch. All images thanks to Coasterfriends.de. Looks like a nice layout, and damn, it looks like it will have some good spots of airtime... And whilst I mention that, I really think that Gerstlauer could build a really good twisty hyper coaster sometime with nothing but a range of ejector hills and curvy twists and possibly a beyond vertical drop with the vertical lift too. On all of their coasters that I've ridden, the spots of airtime combined with the dinky little trains always end up being my favo…

Heres some news on the new rides for 2015. As much as I love Funfairs a giant loop does not count as a coaster! Its a flat ride! http://www.coaster101.com/2014/08/28/multiple-six-flags-parks-add-larson-giant-loops-2015/

firstly I'm really surprised theres not a topic on these epic coasters!!! but after recently visiting Universal's Islands Of Adventure I managed to ride the dragons with only a maximum queue time of 15 mins. I'm not sure where to really start with this, the theming was absolutely amazing, along with the rest of the park, but walking through the castle, with ice and candles round every corner, finally reaching the split in the queue, left for fire, right for ice.I got more images but will save them for later........

  12. Couldn't find a topic, so I started one. Shanghai will be Disney's next big stand alone park, which will feature a lot of different takes of the classic Magic Kingdom design such as no Main Street, a Tron themed motorbike coaster (instead of Space Mountain) and a whole area dedicated to Pirates Of The Caribbean. Above is construction of the new pirates ride, which so far looks hugely impressive (as you'd expect from Disney really). The parks opening in the first half of 2016, which has seen a delay from the originally planned December 2015 date.

Has anyone done any Halloween events in Europe, and if so any recommendations? I did Asterix last year which was great so I’m keen to try some others this year, looking at potentially doing Walabi Holland and Belgium but any thoughts would be appreciated If anyones done either of the Walibi parks at Halloween what did you think of them?

I had a look and apparently we don't have an IoA thread? How? I'll just drop this leaked concept art of the new Potter coaster that's replacing Duelling Dragons, and maybe fill in some more details later...

  15. Movie Park is perhaps one of Germanys lesser known parks, being home to a top quality indoor gerstlauer, a terrible woodie, marmite SLC amongst others. However for 2017, the park is set to gain another star attraction, in the form of A Mack launch coaster which will be themed around Star Trek. Source- Movie Park Facebook. Certainly looks an interesting and exciting coaster.

  16. Grona Lund is small'ish amusement park located in Stockholm which is probably the 2nd biggest park in Sweden [after Liseberg]. For 2017 the park will be building a giant new drop tower called Ikaros. The ride will be 95 metres tall [aprox. 311ft] and will be similar to Falcon's Fury as it will be using tilting seats.

Adventure World is a small theme park in Perth Australia that is getting something rather large for November this year. A Gerstlauer Eurofighter which will be almost identical in layout to Saw. The guy from Adventure World clearly loves Saw as he has ridden it a few times and feels it will offer a great thrilling experience. A little video on the new ride, some nice clips of Saw plus the music, and a look at the manufacturing process at Gerstlauer. The indoor section (I'm guessing it will be enclosed) is already complete and does replicate Saw's (pictures from Adventure World's FB page). All very interesting and if they can make it so that there is no jol…

Over the past few years, China has very much burst onto the theme park scene, with many parks being built from the ground up and seeing substantial coasters added. It's probably fair to say that some of B&M's, Intamin's and GCI's best-looking coasters over the past few years have ended up in China. And that investment doesn't seem to be slowing down, so here's the thread to discuss all things China! I'll start with a few good looking things... (All images sourced from VHCoasters on Facebook/Twitter unless said otherwise) Daxing East / Great Xingdong Tourist World Guizhou, south-west China Opening in 2018, this park featur…

  19. I'm surprised this isn't a topic so thought I may as well create it. This park is currently home to 3 B&Ms, and arrow looper, 2 Zierer coasters, a Premier Sky Rocket II, a predictable drop tower (you can say otherwise if you've ridden it) and some other rides I cannot be bothered to mention. This is said to be a very beautiful park which I could't agree more with after seeing images and videos. I'm not an expert on this park and I've never been so there's no point asking questions aimed at me (unless you're not a roller coaster fanboy/girl). 1 more thing; There's something big coming...

OK, so I am going to Florida in May, with a pass for ALL of the parks.I am wondering, in your opinion, what is the BEST attraction over there? I think it may be Kraken, or the new, rethemed Dueling Dragons in the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. What would it be for you?

After visiting today, I thought that a topic about this impressive park wouldn't go a miss! This park is mainly Simulators and walk through attractions - but still a park not to be missed!I'll spark some rides to talk about...The Mummy Returns - Amazing ride! You're on these crate kind of trains which embark on a journey into the depths of the tomb, where Imhotep wants to capture your souls to gain imortality. The special effects in here are extremely extensive and Universal have really gone the 'extra mile' to make this a ride and a half! You have several transfer tracks within where you will go backwards. There's also turntables and a launch hill! I'm trying not to spoil …
