Quick Questions

Got a quick question you need answering? Post it here and somebody is bound to give you an answer!

  1. I know that the majority of the major rides have bag storage areas where you hand your bag to the ride attendant in exchange for a wrist band, or you put them in a lockable cabinet (with Colossus). However, I was curious as to whether the water rides have this option? Last time I went, Loggers Leap never had a storage section. Is X also a problem as I haven't been since the refurb and haven't been on it in a LONG time.

I'll probably sound pretty stupid, and I think I already have an answer anyway but just wanted to check. The seat belts on rides like Nemesis Inferno and Colossus, what are they for? My guess is extra safety for if the top-restraint fails, but I'm pretty skinny and, looking in the station at a seat with its belt still attached, doesn't look very safe for me xD

I'm really wary of leaving my bag in theme parks whilst on ride. It's okay when they have wristbands and lockers to pickup your stuff at the end, but for some rides, you just chuck your possessions in a box. If I wore a bum bag (The fitted ones round the hip) would I still be asked to take it off on rides or would I be able to get away with it?

  8. I have recently created a youtube channel covering the UK's theme park rides. Up until now I have been using still photos in my videos. Is there an official policy as to whether video cameras are allowed on rides at Thorpe Park? If I use my camera, is there a chance of it getting confiscated?Any help will be appreciated

Hi there everyone, I am planning to write a letter to Thorpe Park & Merlin in hope of Storm Surge's top frame to be themed. I think we can all agree it would improve the look of the ride & help it blend in with Amity Cove. After recent petitions on TowersTimes to remove the Fanta sponsership being so succesful I think it is worth a try. The frame currently looks very bare & sticks out like a sore thumb. Let's try and help the ride blend in better beccause I myself feel it lets the rest of the park down.http://www.fotowhizz.com/thorpe/stormsurge003/023.htmhttp://www.fotowhizz.com/thorpe/stormsurge003/015.htmPlease State your name and a comment including suggesti…

From my first visits to fright nights this year and discussions with employees the normal level of security has been decreased around the mazes and particullary the rear of the park. ( Monks Walk ) Now dont get me wrong from literally 100's of visits over the years I'm not saying that we all risk death! lol but the invasion of the chavs and rude boys that we always see to increase this time of the year ultimatly will ruin things for those true customers like ourselves! I saw no visible security like in previous years ( normally blokes in black jackets etc ) around the entrances of the mazes, just 17 year old girls in high viz! Now what on earth could they do if / when it …

  11. Hello, I'll be visiting Thorpe Park tomorrow and need to know quickly (in the next few hours) whether the ban on "cameras and phones on rides" which know exists at the majority of theme parks run by Merlin applies just to while on the rides, or does it extend to the whole park (lets say photographing a ride, family photo or attraction from the ground)? It would be good to have an answer as soon as possible...

  12. Okay, I realised I typed slightly too quickly and mods tried to fix it and it sounded strange. Heres the question agian edited. If you've been on X:\ you'll know that if you look closely into the centre of the enclosure while riding, you can see what looks like rollercoaster cars covered in web? Strange? Can anyone shed some light?Cheers

Hi guys/girls. I have actually been thinking about getting a Thorpe Park annual pass for some time now but am really not sure weather it would be worth it. I have been researching all the various annual passes to find the prices and the best benefits, unfortunately most sources seem to say different things. So my question to you guys is, do you think it is worth getting an average Thorpe Park pass for the new year? I visit approximately three times a year though I could try and make it more if I were to have a pass. I live about an hour away so getting their is not easy. It could be difficult for me to find people to go with. Am unaware of the actual price for one a…

Random question of the day!...I was just wondering if any of you lovely people on here have recently bought a lovely enamel Thorpe Park pin badge recently? I know that this may sound like an add request but if you did, would someone mind messaging a picture of the back of the packaging please (I told you it was an odd request!) Lots of thank yous in advance!

Hi all, Just wondering, if entering with a Merlin Annual Pass do you have to queue in a special queue to enter the park instead of the usual makeshift zig-zag queue set up at the beginning of the day. Also, can my non annual pass holder friends enter the same way as me with their regular tickets as I don't really want to split up from them. Many Thanks

Something I’ve wondered on and off over the years… Does anyone happen to know the sort of figures that visit Thorpe per day? For example, how many guests are usually there on average? What is the capacity crowd levels on the busiest sell-out days? How many people are there on the quietest of September weekdays? I’d be interested to see how the numbers compare to things like stadiums etc, as it’s so hard to visualise since people are spread out across the park.

  21. Hi all, I'm planning on taking some friends to Thorpe Park & Legoland, and am planning to use the family and friends discount through the Merlin pass. However, I was wondering how many people maximum you are allowed to use it for as I'm planning to bring two people with me (neither of which are pass holders).

Hey guys, I am planning to go to TP on mid-May with my parthner. Based on your experience with the park, do you think we could possibly do most of the park in one day (either a Thursday or a Friday)? I was wondering whether we should spend 2 days at TP or 1 day at TP and 1 day at Chessington / Legoland. Really unsure what queue times look like.

I'm told to report at 'cast reception' (no idea where that is) at 9.30AM for an interview. What can I expect? Should I dress up formally? What questions will they ask me? And where in the park is 'cast reception'?Haha I have so many question but I'm just going to stick to those 4 since this is my first job and I really want to get it!Any help is much appreciated! (p.s. I'm 17)
