TPJames
Result, I might actually get to ride it on Friday for the first time in years! I have never been on slammer myself but I am desperate, I will hopefully get a ride on it when I visit this month! It has always been broken whenever I visit! Matt 236
If Slammer is running next time I visit Thorpe, I may pluck up the courage and try this worlds only ride.
jmgpannal
Seemed to be running well today too, most I saw was 10 people on it! Queue time of
MattyMoo
If it's open, face your fears (oops, wrong ride) and ride Slammer whilst you still can As I say - it's been quite some time since I've ridden, I'm hoping all is well for this Friday. If Stealth misbehaves herself, then I'll cry Though my luck with avoiding Stealth downtime seems to be pretty good!
RideAddict
Yes and seemed to be running well too, didn't see it go down once.
Marc
Glad its working, although it now takes an age to get to the top, the musics almost at an end before it actually starts spinning! c1hrisin
BigBobJones
Saw them testing it this morning and it was spinning at twice the speed as normal and spinning for a good 20 turns. We saw it working, so when we went to ride it "It's unavailable for the next 30 minutes".....
Tom
We saw it working, so when we went to ride it "It's unavailable for the next 30 minutes"..... They seemed to close it for 'maintenance' on friends and family day! Even though it was operating fine. Engineers checking a few things! Marc
I noticed the majority of Slammers paddle / booms have been repainted too, its looking much nicer now MattyMoo
Mark9
I truly admire Thorpes engineers on their determination to keep Slammer working. Sidders and Coaster
Fred
Same. It does show that thorpes engineers do care about the place, as much stick as they do get on these forums. Let's hope it pays dividends. Probably doesn't though.
Mark9
http://sfneonline.org/2013/03/05/six-flags-catapult-removed/ Just the confirmation of the end of Catapult for any doubters out there. It has been cut up and is likely to be heading to the scrap yard. Slammer is officially the most unique ride at Thorpe Park. alexander
I imagine they'll grasp the opportunity to advertise it as the 'world's only', I can't say I'm a massive fan of Slammer, I'd take a ride on Rush anyday but I admire the work they put in to keeping it. RideAddict
Sorry Alex, you admire Rush or Slammer? http://sfneonline.org/2013/03/05/six-flags-catapult-removed/ Just the confirmation of the end of Catapult for any doubters out there. It has been cut up and is likely to be heading to the scrap yard. Slammer is officially the most unique ride at Thorpe Park. I wonder what the scrap value is? I assume it's all gone to be scrapped - surely some parts could've been salvaged and sold to Thorpe, even if Catapult did have maintenance issues too? Stokesyboy
Great ride on Sunday, missed this! Nice to see it back up and running even if it did take a while to load and un load.

I love Rush, it's one of my all time favourite flats. But I admire Thorpe Park for the continuous work they've done on Slammer to keep it going. Emma1980
Slammer wasn't working when I went on 14th March - they appeared to be testing it but it never actually opened. Was gutted as I haven't been on this for a long long time due to be being closed for ages! Oh well hopefully next time!

Emma1980
Really Ryan? I saw it being tested when we were there at 10ish and a few Thorpe Park people hanging around the entrance turning people away - can't say I looked again to see if it was working.... I do want to ride it again its been ages!
Ricky
I rode it that day too, it opened for about 45 minutes around 1pm roughly? After being stuck upside for a while In other news, is Slammer still Slamming or has it died yet?
