Matt Creek
Well whatever it is, I’m sure it’s not a repaint, retrack or new trains. Continue, as you do! Ringo

08newmanb
I wish Colossus would be rebuilt with new trains, just like Altair. But still keep the theming, with a new storyline, similar to Colossos at Heide Park. Edited November 1, 2019 by 08newmanb
08newmanb
Just imagine, if Colossus can have a pre-show and storyline, but similar to Colossos at Heide Park Resort in Germany. But with an Atlantean storyline, in which the beast protects the remains of the Lost City. Also, I would like to put in, an onboard soundtrack, And even also, I would put in a giant statue at the tenth and final inversion, it will appear as if it's destroying the track! Fire effects are also welcome, like on The Swarm, and like that, every ten minutes! Feel free to comment. PS. I do wish the track, or the trains would get replaced with new smooth and comfortable ones.
LK_
More chance of the ride being demolished than anything else being done to it tbh Kerfuffle

1729
Repeating the same request over and over wont make it happen. The ride isn't going to be re-tracked any time soon, plus due to design differences of first and second generation Intamin 10 looping coasters, it means custom track and trains would likely be needed for the ride if major parts like that are replaced. Some promotion. Would you wish for more comfortable trains as well as I do?
Ivsetti
Does anyone know what this cable at the end of the Colossus lift chain is for? It's been there since the park opened in 2019 and hasn't been removed since. There also appears to be quite a bit of oil that's leaking from the end of the lift chain as well. RobF
It could well be an oil drain for excess oil
Matt Creek
This level of upkeep is dream material. gotta love that oil!
MarsLlama
I'm sure many posters will already know most of these facts, but I had an interesting Thursday researching Colossus's history for an article: http://themeparkaddict.co.uk/ride-history-Colossus RobF
Benin
Am I that old that people on here weren't alive when Colossus was being built? Time to dig my grave then. Mattgwise, RobF and Ringo

I was alive of course, but 17 years ago I certainly wouldn't have been tall enough to ride Colossus!
Matt Creek
Colossus was being built during my park hiatus years, which is probably a pity really. I am old enough to remember riding Tidal Wave during opening year with it’s fireball effect and then returning to witness the damage after the fire. Twenty Years ago, wow! The barriers on the sides of the trains you mention only existed for a short while too, the restraints ended up being replaced as a long term fix. They allow minimal movement of the legs and they are awful.
SteveJ
The article isnt criminal but let's be honest, the world record was only there to have something gimmicky to boast about. It actually makes for a boring second half of the ride and always did. So it's the ride's own fault that it wasn't as good as Nemesis Inferno the next year really... Colossus and Inferno were both planned more or less the same time too it must be said. With the water infilling, the biggest knock came much earlier when the queue was filled in and Saw The Ride built so that you no longer felt close to the lakes at any point in the ride. Shame really because it added something—and Saw Alive was rubbish!

Gotta love sitting on the brake run waiting for the other train to be dispatched, legs pinned in place and cramping up like they're about to explode 🥰
Ivsetti
Colossus when it first opened in 2002. Also interesting to see someone in the ride area without locking off (on the lift hill) something I doubt Merlin would allow nowadays. JoshC.
