I didn't know if there was a topic for this or not but I am wondering something anyway! Guys if you have a merlin annual pass is it free to access chessingtons zoo days or is there a £5 event fee? If you don't have to pay do you need to pre-book or do you just go and scan your pass on the turnstile as normal? Thanks

Hi everyone, I am new to this forum, and I wanted to start by asking a quick question about the trip I am planning to Chessington on the 14th of December. I have been to the park once before during the summer time and it has been really busy - should I do expecting this for my trip in December, or is it going to be much quieter? Also, it would be useful to know which rides to do first, queue times expected, and places to eat. I hope it's going to be a great trip! Thanks!!

It looks like there is potential for a UK Universal attraction. Taken from Attraction Source: Universal have registered the domain names “universalstudiosgreatbritain.com” & “universalgreatbritain.com” using the same registrar as their other park website domains around the world In September. Comcast, the owner of Universal, recently acquired a construction and development company on 31st August called Cloud Wing UK Limited. Cloud Wing UK was itself already the parent company of two UK subsidiaries, Kempston Hardwick Developments Ltd and SC Collection Ltd, meaning Comcast indirectly acquired these companies and their assets. F…

Just something what I've noticed more and more recently on not just these forums but various forums about the UK's parks is the slating of Merlin and it got me thinking are they really that bad? I know people don't like things such as paid fastrack but these are things which have been around way before Merlin got involved with Thorpe / Alton / Cwoa, and what business sense would it be for them to come in and but that what must be fairly high revenue stream? I think Merlin have actually done a pretty good job with "The big 3" of our parks since they took over.. At Towers we've had: Mutiny Bay - Much better than what was previously there, well themed and good area IMO …

I used to visit here all the time when I was a kid for one reason. It is designed for children. All the enclosures have viewing points designed for children and activities at each enclosure (like how loud can you roar even though they have no big cats ). Drusillas is also well known for having a set of large and good play areas. Many of the places I visited as a kid I can't remember very well but Drusillas is one I clearly and fondly remember! Park map for those interested. Anyway, opening this Saturday is a new land with a few rides, Hello Kitty Secret Garden. Included will be a tea cups, car ride and a frog hopper. It's not much but for a family zoo of this size i…

Hi all, I have been inspired to join this forum by the unprecedented threat to our nation's theme park heritage by Rameses Revenge being taken out of service. As the UK's only top-spin ride, it is clear that it is an 'endangered species' in the theme park industry. I propose we launch a campaign to save the ride. There are four steps: 1) We need to contact Historic England, and inform them of the loss to our culture and heritage that is underway. We should draw parrellels to historic rides that are already listed. Historic England have listed several already which creates an obligation on the owners to preserve them. Don't …

I am going up to Alton Towers for a couple of days and was wondering if any of the coasters are rough and give you a banging headache e.g. Like Colossus at Thorpe. As if possible I will leave them to last so as not to spoil the day as only have two days there as live to far away. I have not been to Alton for many years so any advice great fully received..

Londons Death Trap is the newest of all the horror maze/shows, things. And I was wondering is it different from any of the other horror mazes? Reviews online suggest you really get into the action by putting your hands into holes and searching for missing keys an so on and so forth.Has anyone visited? If so please share reviews and comments.

Considering I haven’t really gone out of my way to research it, I’ve read & watched a few things this week that has made me realise how much trouble Merlin seem to actually be in. With a large restructure going on across the business in the coming months, redundancies in Merlin Magic Making which is confirmed to be shutting down soon, the closure of Bear Grills, new projects shelved, 2 brand new Legoland parks having devastating low attendances, the operational cuts we have seen in the UK this season, and multiple midway attractions closing their doors around the world, Merlin seems to have found itself in some trouble. Clearly I am absolutely …

After having visited many theme parks across the globe I just can't seem to understand why are parks are so badly maintained eg dirty faded tracks, worn out theming and effects etc... Places like port aventura coaster tracks are gleaming all year round year after year but ours are either faded or rusting anyone know why? I am aiming this more at Thorpe as Alton are sorting some of their coasters tracks slowly

Located near Kidderminster, WMSP's main draw is of course the car safari, but it also has a few coasters and rides to supplement the day out... NOW, they're applying for permission to build an indoor water park and hotel to improve the offerings, images below: It does look very good, whilst the ride selection (and ticketing system) is a bit poor, this will hopefully give the place a bit of a kick-start at least, especially as they're apparently also looking to later expand with a Spa and Conference Centre... No plans for the hotel as of yet, though I suspect it'll have rooms overlooking parts …

Hello there. I applied for my first job last week, a Guest Experience Assistant Weekend role at SEA LIFE. Was very pleased to receive an email today saying I've been invited to the assessment centre. Does anyone have any idea what sort of things they will ask in the interview? I'm pretty confident with the team working exercises, just not too sure how to prepare for the interview as it'll be the first I've ever had. Any help people could give would be greatly appriciated.

As this is a kind of general topic, I was unsure where to put it, I decided upon Chessington as I feel they are the biggest offender.Does anyone else find the opening times of the majority of our parks really frustrating? The whole month of August Chessington closes at 6! The likelihood is that opening will be extended but even so, that is just ridiculous. This is happening at the same time, as Legoland, with a younger target audience is closing at 8!I just find it irritating how early the park closes...

The Trocadero isn't a place I ever went to, but hearing from all the attractions that used to be there such as Sega world, have made me interested in what this place was like. Here's a promotional video of the park, just before it opened in the mid nineties. Looks like it was quite an interesting place, shame it no longer exists.
