  1. A surprise recently when I got the chance to ride the Boulder Dash at Lake Compounce. Always had wanted this and suddenly, there I was. This is a brilliant wooden roller coaster that ascends a climb hill through trees across boulder strewn terrain, to then descend around the wooded hill then hug it's contours. Racing between the trees, and bobbing around corners reaching speeds of 60mph. Great airtime and with speed at low level it creates a fantastic ride. Hope I'm allowed to post this link?

If you ever get a chance. This is a very small family park in Connecticut, North America, with a great water park and lake, but a fabulous woodie named Wooden Warrior. This has a very small footprint, only cost one million dollars and is a fabulous wooden roller coaster. http://www.wfsb.com/video?autoStart=true&topVideoCatNo=default&clipId=10278178

Yet another park in the Six Flags chain, it used to house the other S&S Sky Swat (Catapult) which was recently removed and currently has the world's tallest Sky Screamer, several wooden coasters and Bizarro. It's just been announced that just like Colossus at SFMM, Cyclone will be closing on the 20th July after 31 years of operation (opened in 1983). Does anyone think this will be given the RMC Treatment or is it just the end for Cyclone considering the park has a few other woodies?

  4. Bit of a long shot... but off to Sunny Beach in Bulgaria in less than 3 weeks now (excited is an understatement), and was pleasantly surprised to find out that there is a fun park there called Luna Park with a rollercoaster and some other rides. Just wondering if anyone has ever been before and know what it's like, as well as price wise etc. as I've heard from reviews it's pretty dear, but they haven't said prices.

  6. I didn't really know where to put this tbh, but seeing I couldn't find an existing/ appropriate topic, I thought I would create one. Sad news has been announced at Universal Singapore today it's been confirmed their roller coaster Battlestar Galactica will be closed for good. The ride, the tallest duelling coaster in the world, has been plagued with operational and technical problems since day one when it opened in 2010 and will be replaced with a new ride at the end of the year. Full details about the article can be found here https://sg.news.yahoo.com/blogs/what-is-buzzing/troubled-universal-studios-singapore-ride-battlestar-galactica-closes-084334087.html

  8. This relatively unknown park, is getting incredibly hyped up by people in Sweden for a project to be announced on the 8th of April. All we know at the moment is that this ride is called Wildfire and the ride will open in 2016. I know I am using a Robb Alvey quote and bladi-blah but he has said: I hope he is right about this one but for him to say this when, looking at tpr has slated quite a few of new projects in the past, especially those of the wing rider variety, this sounds promising! I'm remaining skeptical though as its Alvey He is the fantastic preview trailer for this ride, which looks AWESOME!

I couldn't find a topic about Parc Bagatelle, a small theme park in North France. Anyone ever been? What are your views? I went there a few years ago. I loved it, but their main ride, Le Triops, an inverted boomerang was closed EDIT: Changed the location from West to North

Located in Germany and home to Over-rated Ge-Force, this park (now owned by Studio 100/Plopsa) is getting a Vampire themed coaster from Premier Rides as well as retheming their Log Flume area to Wickie the Viking... Lots of pics ahoy! Sources are Holiday Park Facebook/Blog and Coasterfriends.de

Yes this is a park which its sole theme is the Irish crisps company that own it. They are planning to install the 2nd biggest woodie in europe for 2015. Stats: 1.4kms long (4593ft) 32m high (104ft) 105kph (65mph) 2 trains with 12 seats each 700pph 8.5million Euro It will take up 2.8 acres of space. The only coaster bigger then it will be Wodan at europa in dimensions (I think they have forgotten Colossos at Heide) Fingers crossed this goes all to plan as it will be Irelands first big coaster. Nigloland is a theme park in north-eastern France. From the looks of it, there's nothing particularly 'special' about the place; just your standard, fun theme park. However, next year sees the addition of a Mack Megacoster - Alpina Blitz. I expect most people are aware how awesome Mack's Megacoasters look, and this one is no different: (All images from Nigloland) Looks like another fun coaster from Mack!

Flying Turns is probably one of the more infamous bobsled coasters to come from America. A custom made ride by Knoebels in Pennsylvania, the coaster has been plagued by problem after problem after problem, and has been under construction since 2006. However, yesterday, pigs flew after the ride had finally opened! A couple of pictures from Coasterforce member ECG - http://www.coasterforce.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=878648&sid=90193fa8b270753674326da256230a72#p878648 Also, here's a night time POV: http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=oPULFIcUhuk Actually looks like a fun ride as well, which is great to see. It's great to see that the rid…

Six Flags do like announcing everything at once don't they? Following on from Magic Mountain's Lex Luthor, and the trend of ugly American rides comes Zumajaro: Drop of Doom!

Surprised after yesterday's announcement of the new coaster (replacing Son of Beast, which I'll forever hate the park for closing for good shortly before my visit back in 2009)... Banshee is an Inverted B&M and will apparently be the longest in the world... And it looks like they've taken inspiration from the excellent OzIris at Asterix with the layout... Here's a few videos to tide you over... HYPE! Especially over the colour scheme

Adventure World is a small theme park in Perth Australia that is getting something rather large for November this year. A Gerstlauer Eurofighter which will be almost identical in layout to Saw. The guy from Adventure World clearly loves Saw as he has ridden it a few times and feels it will offer a great thrilling experience. A little video on the new ride, some nice clips of Saw plus the music, and a look at the manufacturing process at Gerstlauer. The indoor section (I'm guessing it will be enclosed) is already complete and does replicate Saw's (pictures from Adventure World's FB page). All very interesting and if they can make it so that there is no jol…

A weird mix of the American counterparts and home of the delightfully unique Space Fantasy Mack Spinning Coaster, this park have recently debuted a Resident Evil (Biohazard) variation on the scare maze genre with the addition of guns... Groups of 8 enter and do the usual stick of destroying whichever class virus this one focuses on... Sounds like an interesting idea and a neat addition to the park... It's also led to this food offering... Source - http://kotaku.com/a-frightening-look-inside-japans-newest-resident-evil-833310331

  22. not sure whether anyone has ever been to ocean park but does who have here is the discussion. Ocean park is located in Hong Kong, for those who don't know, and it has two parts to its park. One up in the mountains, and one below. To get up to the mountain, there are Cable cars, and those who are a bit scared or like a different experience can go on the train. heres a POV of there newest ride, Hair Raiser a B&M Floorless Coaster, (not taken by me): And in my opinion the best few rides there: There log flume is very good, better than loggers in terms of thrill. it has two hills as much as I can remember. First one is very similar to the one in loggers, howeve…

So, the new movie themed park is well under way now! I know it's a little late but here are some photos from May 2013, showing the newer style Colossus taking shape: Looking Similar: New style of drop: Moving on to June 2013 now: And for some reason the final inversion is through a tunnel I've got to say, the new style of the clone is much more pleasing to look at, the inlines seem much more open with a fraction of the supports and I can only assume that to be down to the tri-railed track making it strong? Or Intamin realised it looked somewhat ugly to have a support every 5 foot! Photos used from TheParks.it, the rest of th construction galllery can be fo…

This photo has caught alot of attention by the international coaster community. Dollywood representatives have been spotted in Europa Park owned by Mack, riding all the rides, there is strong suggestions that they will be building a Mack launch coaster, backed up with the blast slogan above and the fact they don't have a launch coaster whereas their rival park Silver Dollar City do in the form of Powder Keg. Although that some think it will be another woodie. This information was initially found on coasterforce who inturn, found the Europa information on Screamscape. Even if it isn't a launch coaster something big is coming. Lets Discuss! (would love to this park it look…
