International Attractions

Discuss news and information about the international parks and attractions here

  1. not sure whether anyone has ever been to ocean park but does who have here is the discussion. Ocean park is located in Hong Kong, for those who don't know, and it has two parts to its park. One up in the mountains, and one below. To get up to the mountain, there are Cable cars, and those who are a bit scared or like a different experience can go on the train. heres a POV of there newest ride, Hair Raiser a B&M Floorless Coaster, (not taken by me): And in my opinion the best few rides there: There log flume is very good, better than loggers in terms of thrill. it has two hills as much as I can remember. First one is very similar to the one in loggers, howeve…

  2. So Sod it, I've never been and think its about time I took myself off to Orlando - the home of theme parks! Basically I just want some advice from those that have been. Core park essentials for me are to do all the Disney parks (although possibly excluding the water parks/ the water parks aren't a priority) and Universal studios and Islands of Adventure. BONUS parks would be seaworld and BUCSH Gardens! but Id rather spend multiple days at the other parks to get all the the attractions done than fitting too much in/rushing! So in terms of where to stay - where is the best to do a Disney and Universal combo? Can you stay at a Disney hotel and easil…

So, it looks like there's a new theme park on its way in the USA: https://www.google.co.uk/amp/www.al.com/articles/19595697/roller_coaster_rivaling_longes.amp?client=safari The 520 acre development is in Alabama and will contain a 14 acre lake, a 150 room hotel and a theme park. The theme park will have 3 large scale thrill rides - one of which is claimed to be the second longest in the USA and looks to be manufactured by zamperla. Nice fly through: The concept art looks amazing and incredibly highly themed too. Reminds me slightly of the concept art for paramount because of the grandness:

Again I find myself following an European park building a brand new B&M, so let's have a topic about the park and ride...I visited the park for the first time last year, and throughly enjoyed the rides and atmosphere, with the classy Tonnerre de Zeus being backed up by Goudrix (not as bad as people say) in the current big coaster stakes, and some excellent theming and rides dotted around the park...See my TR in the link below for some pics...http://forum.maniahub.com/topic/7404-paris-parc-asterix-et-piscines/And next year, a B&M Inverted will arrive...http://www.potionmagix.fr/forumix/nouvelle-zone-attraction-2012-parc-asterix-t1271-430.html#p33432Hopefully this n…

I don't think we have a topic (I searched) for this park yet, and we're gonna need one... Why? Because it's getting a wooden coaster next year, is generally fab, and is only 45 minutes away from Calais! I visited yesterday and was lucky enough to get to chat to two management staff and try and coax SOME information about the planned wooden coaster for next year... Unfortunately we couldn't, but found out some interesting information about the park and the Plopsa brand (they own 5 parks, including Holiday Park) in general... As for this year, they're theming up their Teacups to a new IP of their own (Studio 100 own the Plopsa parks, so they are filled with thei…

PortaVentura is a Theme Park based very similar to Alton Towers but with the rides of Thorpe Park (not exactly). First of all is Dragon Khan, a 7 looping rollercoaster that was similar to Colosus but very intense. Then my favourite ride was Hurukan Condor the exact same as Detonator but 300ft tall (that's taller than Stealth) and it also has a ride photo just as it realeases you from the top. I stayed at The Hotel PortaVentura but there were two other hotels except my Hotel was the only one with direct entrance into the park. The park also had a double wooden rollercoaster what was called Stampida (Stampede) which was themed to be a wagon race. For anyone who goes make su…

Has anyone seen this show at Islands of Adventure?. I love it, and must see it everytime I go. I think the effects, the storyline and even the setting is realistic.

If you ever get a chance. This is a very small family park in Connecticut, North America, with a great water park and lake, but a fabulous woodie named Wooden Warrior. This has a very small footprint, only cost one million dollars and is a fabulous wooden roller coaster. http://www.wfsb.com/video?autoStart=true&topVideoCatNo=default&clipId=10278178

  14. Couldn't find a topic, so I started one. Shanghai will be Disney's next big stand alone park, which will feature a lot of different takes of the classic Magic Kingdom design such as no Main Street, a Tron themed motorbike coaster (instead of Space Mountain) and a whole area dedicated to Pirates Of The Caribbean. Above is construction of the new pirates ride, which so far looks hugely impressive (as you'd expect from Disney really). The parks opening in the first half of 2016, which has seen a delay from the originally planned December 2015 date.

Felt we had a SDC topic because of Outlaw Run but obviously not... SDC are building a Mack coaster for 2018. Not much is known at the mo (an announcement is due on the 16th), but rumours are suggesting to will be called Time Travellers and that it will be a launched spinning coaster. But to add a twist to the rumour, track has started to go up and poses more questions... Source - http://www.midwestinfoguide.com/2017/08/time-traveler-construction-sdc_3.html Yep, a 90 degree drop out of the ride's station - nice way to start any ride, but a spinner? Who knows. So yeah, definitely one to watch...

Interesting vid about Six Flags, and the endangered amusement park. Six Flags & The Endangered Amusement Park Was thinking that Thorpe Park was on the ball back in 2008 for the SAW IP, seeing the future trend of IP in parks. Saying that, Six Flags did have WB IP in the parks in the early 2000's. I suppose parks in the UK don't directly compete with the likes of Disney/Universal, whereas in the States Six Flags kind of do.

Along with every other chain in the world, Six Flags is opening a park in Dubai! Concept art shows a Mack Boomerang Splash like the new Pulsar at Walibi Belgium, as well as a potential Zacspin or S&S Free Fly Aside from a huge air-conditioned area (a necessity I'm sure!) and the potential dark ride sported by Six Flags Fiesta Texas, it screams Six Flags very very much

Six Flags do like announcing everything at once don't they? Following on from Magic Mountain's Lex Luthor, and the trend of ugly American rides comes Zumajaro: Drop of Doom!

Yet another park in the Six Flags chain, it used to house the other S&S Sky Swat (Catapult) which was recently removed and currently has the world's tallest Sky Screamer, several wooden coasters and Bizarro. It's just been announced that just like Colossus at SFMM, Cyclone will be closing on the 20th July after 31 years of operation (opened in 1983). Does anyone think this will be given the RMC Treatment or is it just the end for Cyclone considering the park has a few other woodies?

Mega Zeph looks like it could have been fun.Strange how they seem to have managed to achieve the look Thorpe have been going for without even trying.

Thought I would create a Topic for Slagharen, a particularly interesting park with a particularly funny name. Pretty under the radar for us brits but have announced a new Gerst coaster that will be replacing there old "Thunder Loop" coaster (https://rcdb.com/907.htm) It's a pretty interesting ride that looks rather fun, here's a CGI POV: The park also has some interesting other rides and a Water Park with some interesting sounding slides. Now as I am visiting Europe on a theme park road trip next year, I'm going to squeeze this in as it is kind of on route.
