Hi all, As many of you know I do have a YouTube channel which contains many offride perspectives of both theme park and funfair rides. I am looking to create a wider range of videos including some onride videos of different funfair rides(and possibly theme park rides if the park allows). Currently, to film my videos, I will record by holding the camera without a wrist strap etc. What I am looking for is some sort of secure wrist strap so the camera will definitely not fall off. I am looking to take it onto the most extreme rides and improve my YouTube channel by having unique videos which others do not have. I will be off to my next visit VERY SHORTLY so w…

Hey all, I have been looking around the net and I have noticed that as early since the 80's rides have had ORP but I have been wondering how was it done back then before digital cameras? did they have to pay before to get your photo or did someone have to take it manually and how long did they take? Thanks Mr Fish

Now, not too far away, there’s something very sinister and very real awaiting us in the shadows. Outbreak Brighton is a new attraction hidden in the depths of the Sussex countryside. It promises an extreme, immersive, physical horror experience for anyone brave enough to enter its world. Described as Secret Cinema meets 28 Days Later, crossed with Tough Mudder all in one place, it’s the ultimate destination for anyone who wants their deepest darkest fears burst into life…

Attendance figures for parks around the world for last year have been revealed - http://www.teaconnect.org/pdf/TEAAECOM2013.pdf For people interested, the European figures are on Page 27. Merlin park's to feature in the Top 20: -Gardaland; 2.7million (8th) -Alton Towers; 2.5million (9th) -Legoland Windsor; 2.05million (10th) -Thorpe Park; 2million (11th) -Legoland Billund; 1.8million (12th) -Chessington; 1.5million (17th) -Heide Park; 1.4million (19th) Chessington had the biggest jump in attendance, going up over 15% (though I'd be interested how satisfied guests were with their experiences...), and Thorpe rose 11% (I guess that's what happens after a bad year a…

After many months of theme park visits, the 2015 season has come to a close and the parks are once again hibernating for the winter. Which parks did you visit throughout the 2015 season, and how many times? If you are visiting more parks over the closed season (some abroad ones are bound to be still open) then add them in as you visit. I'll start with: Blackpool Pleasure Beach - 33 Thorpe Park - 14 Alton Towers - 2 Oakwood - 1 Pleasurewood Hills - 1 Great Yarmouth Pleasure Beach - 1 Chessington - 1 Funland (Hayling Island) - 1 TOTAL: 53 2015 has been my best season yet for theme parks, with 33 visits alone to my favourite park as well as plenty to …

Which theme parks did you visit in 2017, and how many times? Still no abroad parks for me, but that will be rectified next year! I did however reach my 100th coaster, the Rittisberg Coaster in Austria; https://rcdb.com/13066.htm I'll start with: Blackpool Pleasure Beach: 28 Thorpe Park: 6 Alton Towers: 2 Oakwood: 2 Fantasy Island: 1 Paultons Park: 1 Adventure Island: 1 Dreamland Margate: 1 Legoland 1 Bottons Pleasure Beac…

I'll start with my count below (referring to the number of days spent at each park); Blackpool Pleasure Beach x18 Thorpe Park x5 Alton Towers x4 Liseberg x3 Phantasialand x2 Chessington x2 Toverland x1 Efteling x1 Oakwood x1 Lightwater Valley x1 Dreamland x1 Brean Theme Park x1 Funland Weston Super Mare …

Hi guys. Often, parks will have a large-scale consensus opinion that most enthusiasts seem to have about them, and in many cases, you might conform to that opinion. However, there might sometimes be cases where you think differently to the hive mentality. For instance, there might be that highly rated park you don't get the hype for, or that panned park that you don't get the hate for. So my question to you today is; what are some parks you like more than most and parks you like less than most? I'll get the ball rolling with my answers: Parks I like more than most Thorpe Park - Thorpe Park is the unloved step-child of the major UK parks, and it's almo…

What pin badges do you have? Do you collect them? Looking to sell them? Pin badges here! Okay, to start it off, I have a limited amount of pin badges right now but I'm looking to collect all of the chessington ones. Whether I visit the park and find them on the floor or buy them for a good price here I'm willing to at least try and get them all.

I'm sorry if this is the wrong thread, I didn't know where to post it So in May I'm headed to Texas to stay with a friend for a month in San Antonio, then staying for a week in Arlington, we want to go to six flags, probably both Fiesta, and Over Texas, but we want to go multiple times, so we're thinking of just getting season passes as we will most likely go 5+ times during my stay, Because I'm from England, there won't be any issue with me getting a season pass for six flags will there? Just checking if anyone has any insight on this, I don't think there would be an issue but I'm posting here to make sure (:

Ok, recently I've been thinking about rides in slightly different terms. It's probably Disney still on my brain but I kind of see the way parks run in different lights now. When I rode Space Mountain I was intrigued and amazed that in that building were two identical coasters running side by side. I'd never seen that before and it got me wondering what they were thinking when it was being built. "This rides throughput isn't high enough, lets build two of them".And it got me thinking further about rides like Spinball Whizzer, Rattlesnake, Samurai and other low throughput attractions throughout the UK. Is spectacle and making an impact more important then just getting peopl…

Vekoma madhouses are a well loved ride type for UK enthusiasts, because, yknow, Hex exists. Arguably the best example of its kind. And in the UK we're treated to 2 other pretty decent ones too. But is it actually your favourite? And how would you rank the others you've ridden, be they Vekoma or from another manufacturer? [Basically I'm just trying to come up with some sort of thread to kill closed season/covid blues which isn't that ride game... ] Here's mine... 1. Hex, Alton Towers I'll be honest, I'm not as fond of this as many others (not even my favourite dark ride at Towers...), but it's still the best. 2. Le Palais …

So due to boredom I have decided to make a thread to rank the Merlin Parks. This will be by recent investments and just how each park fall in the hierarchy. I think this will be a lot harder than Cedar Fair and Six Flags as Merlin is pretty even with their parks tbh. I'm gonna be ranking all of the abroad parks but I will lump the Legoland's into one category because ranking them individually would take a while. A Tier: Alton Towers Easily the most loved Merlin Park. When this park receives a coaster, its usually very high quality and unique. They usually have good in between years to boot, with constant money being thrown into their hotels, t…

Mod Edit : went way off topic,so split from Dragon Fury topic to a shiny new one... Didn't realise there was a rule on only being allowed to ride twice in a row before having to get off and go back through the queue to health and safety!? We asked the Batcher to go for a 3rd time and she was fine... Then we got to the final section before being sent off and one of the other people on the platform said we cannot ride again and had to stop the ride and get the key to unlock our seats and made us get off. Apart from that annoying rule.. The ride was running amazing and spinning fast!

So I'm not sure if this counts as a game, but here is what you have to do: Pick a ride from each UK Merlin park, and retheme it! You must tell a name, and a back story. You can keep the ride's original name if you want. Here goes: Thorpe Park: Rumba Rapids New name: Rumba Rapids I would retheme Rumba Rapids to fit in a bit more with Nemesis Inferno. Add lots more water effects, and more wave machines throughout the ride. As for the indoor bit, I'd slow it down in there, have orange lights shining on the waterfall, and on the right have a volcano, that also has orange lights on it, and sprays water and mist everywhere, so the orange lights would make it look li…
