Just a bit of fun, but when do you think rides will go? Put a year next to when you think the roller coasters will be destroyed or SBNO and a reason! My guesses Saw - 2025 Make space for a new ride because theres rides with steeper drops! Colossus - 2020 Will get too rough and old so will be removed! Stealth - 2030 There will be a new height restriction so they can build a taller and longer ride! Nemesis inferno - 2022 It will get boring and be replaced by a newer inverted coaster! Swarm - 2035 Will get boring because lots of other parks will have a better one! Flying fish - 2017 No one will ride it and it's really old! X - 2018 Destroyed to make space for …

Fright Nights finishes on 31st October and the season ends on 2nd November, does it? Nope! Saturday 5th November is 'services day' with the park open 10AM to 10PM with full ride and Fright Night maze line up, free parking, limited tickets so minimal queues and no fastrack, and tickets only £18.50! This is for emergency service (including NHS staff) and armed forces personnel only run through 'blue light card' and 'defence discount service', but they can take their families so if you know anyone in these professions it may be worth being friendly to them around about now!

As Colossus is one of the old rollercoasters in the park that was the first 10 looping coaster in the world and was opened to public March 22nd 2002. Well I was thinking that THORPE PARK RESORT and Merlin Entertainments should upgrade Colossus by getting rid of the loud noise of the chain lift and repainting the whole track and making Colossus be a stand-up rollercoaster, this means you would have a bit more leg room and it will be the first 10-looping stand-up rollercoaster. This is just my opinion, you might not agree with me at all but this is just my opinion on what THORPE PARK RESORT & Merlin Entertainments should do to improve Colossus. …

I think that THORPE PARK RESORT and Merlin Entertainments should add a new woodie to THORPE PARK RESORT in the Old Town and I think that THORPE PARK RESORT should place this Wooden coaster at the location of Saw - The Ride And Samurai and I think that they should move saw and Samurai to the island behind stealth and I think there should be a new area and this will include The Swarm as well and that they can make this area like the Dark forest at alton towers.I also believe THORPE PARK RESORT should Expand the hotel and this could be by knocking down the thrill workshop and replacing it somewhere else in the future, I think they should expand because the rooms are tiny an…

The other day I had one of those google searching days, and ended up looking at ariel views of Thorpe on googlemap, and then ended up researching the Cemex site, and actually its history is very fascinating, It was originally owned by RMC (former owners of Thorpe park). It seems the site has been up for sale since 2011, with housing proposed for the site, which Thorpe have questioned as its so close to the park! And since then It seems things have gone quite. Cemex basically want to relocate as the offices are now to big for them! see this article on the issues http://www.getsurrey.co.uk/news/local-news/thorpe-park-questions-wisdom-ne…

Conversation about the Dome and what people would like to see done with it in the future always seems to crop up now and again in loads of threads, so thought I'd set up all for itself.. It's quite obvious that the Dome itself is quite dated these days (not surprising given it was built almost 40 years ago!), and the décor inside feels quite old and worn itself. So what do you think the park should do with the Dome now? Should they knock down the upper half and just replace it with a welcoming plaza area? Completely rework the indoors and bring it up to speed with the modern Thorpe Park? Replace it with a new building entirely? What should be in the Dome too - sh…

Just thinking about the on ride DVD's which are now available on Thorpe's newest attractions. What do you think the possibilities are of more of the rides having the feature installed? I know that places such as Canada Wonderland and various USA based parks have installed the system where possible on their attractions. Some of the rides which I think could have it installed: Colossus Nemesis Inferno Stealth Slammer Flying Fish? (good for the family but I appreciate that the cost of installing the feature may not be worth while) Any ride I've listed above or haven't probably has each of their own limitations which may make it more difficult to install on certain attract…

With the new season fast approaching what addition would you add to the events calender for 2012? For me a 'Fourth of July' fireworks and late night event would be good as although it is an American event it would still add a good feature to the calender in a time with little else on.

The islands have been infilled and we have Swarm and it's possible we'll see maybe 1-2 more coasters (Treasure Island and long strips) and (Crash Pad + Depth Charge area). Does anyone think we'll see new dark rides or flat rides, new or relocated ones on the new infilled islands? There was some rumour about Vortex being enclosed but I think that's made-up.

I was wondering if in the future the park remove samurai what would they replace it with? My idea for a good ride is a Tivoli Extreme (6 arm version of course as the 4 arm version would create terrible queues and you'd have to have a very short ride time!) they are really good fun and have sort of a low height restriction (good for kids to have their very first extreme ride as its not a huge ride height) and if thorpe really wanted to improve safety they could add seatbelts onto the restraints) what do you think of my idea?

Since we all know the showcase live event at thorpe park this summer has been hugely popular and I was thinking for next year the park could bring in a £10 - £20 wristband/ticket to actually meet the star and get a picture taken with them. This is a win win for the park and the guests. For the park means it brings in more money and the guests and fans would be happy to meet the singer. Bit like what adventure island are doing but do it in the summer instead? What do you think?

Quite a few parks have had or do have an upcharge attraction for example at six flags many years ago they had a Zamperla Turbo Force and a Slingshot at the park and many of them still have a slingshot that you pay to ride. Do you think an upcharge attraction should be installed at thorpe park or not?

Rumours abound of a substantial rebranding of Thorpe, that in some ways has already started. As noted by 'T' on ToweersStreet - where are all the fatheads? They have vanished from the website, and this is supposed to be the start of a change of direction in who they are appealing to. Would seem Thorpe have suddenly realised that trying to appeal almost exclusively to a group of people with nearly no money might not be the best decision financially. So what would you like to see them do with the design and direction of the park. Could it see the return or installation of more family type attractions? How do you appeal to a wider market with what is already on offer? How d…

I was thinking that maybe the arena (where the spiderman show was many years ago) could be hosted as a concert venue if it was expanded a bit? What does everyone think about this happening in the future?

there has been a lot of work and confusion about the arena and the area around it but what I really want to ask is, what is up with all this changing of the game stalls? They seem to be moving around large game stalls. E.g. The bouncy walkrope has been moved from its original situation next to the arena to over by the monkey boat. I have also noticed the other large shooting gallery has been removed. Could this be to do with something in the arena? as all the entrances have been blocked off with security fence and signs (That I forgot what they say)

I was thinking about thorpe getting a starflyer it would be good because it caters to everyone (if thorpe park is planning to change the market they want to appeal to) it could go where storm in a teacup is? That would bring more people to that area.

Hi, I have been going to theme park in England now for a while and I love rides and anything to do with them. The problem is I am 6'6 and just about fit into most rides at Thorpe, Blackpool and Alton due to leg room on the rides.. Rides such as Colossus at Thorpe hurts even more than it normally does as I am very tightly fit. Rides at Blackpool and Alton seem to have much more room and leg room for taller people and the more over weight people; whereas Thorpe seem to have very little leg room for taller people. I hope in the future rides that English parks put in have more leg room and cater for taller people.. Thanks

(cannot place this in General Discussion) On the Thorpe Park site now, TP Annual Passes £55.60, that's gotta be good value if you don't envisage going to any other Merlin attraction, or even doing two others at full price....? http://thorpepark.com/prices/annual-passes.aspx?tabnum=2

Seems worthy of it's own topic... Thorpe Park have submitted plans for an extension of the Crash Pad units...until 2024, as read here: Source - http://planning.runnymede.gov.uk/Northgate/PlanningExplorer/Generic/StdDetails.aspx?PT=Planning%20Applications%20On-Line&TYPE=PL/PlanningPK.xml&PARAM0=183854&XSLT=/Northgate/PlanningExplorer/SiteFiles/Skins/Runnymede_AA/xslt/PL/PLDetails.xslt&FT=Planning%20Application%20Details&PUBLIC=Y&XMLSIDE=/Northgate/PlanningExplorer/SiteFiles/Skins/Runnymede_AA/Menus/PL.xml&DAURI=PLANNING A quick look at the plans, submitted this time last week, states the reason for this is: A few more bits of info whic…

Hi all It's come to our attention that members from the forum are going into off limits areas of the park to photo updates of the new maze construction. Whist we understand your all excited about what the park have in store for us it's important members DO NOT enter areas off limits to the park or take cameras onto rides to get images. Doing so is against both park and H&S rules and any members found doing so may not be permitted to attend special exclusive TPM events. On that note we have some exciting news to release soon Thanks for your understanding and if you have any questions please contact me. Marc

Here's an interesting question, what does everyone think Thorpe Park will be like in 10 years time, barering in mind how far Thorpe has come in the last 5 years since the opening of Colossus, do you think we'll have many more coasters and thrill rides to look forward to in the next decade?? And do you think Thorpe Park will be much larger in area than it is now with newly themed areas & gardens?

Is there any consideration by TP to utilize the large area of water remaining? though boats have smaller capacity, there always seems to be a need to build on land and as recently, reclaim water areas to build. Even a ride going into the water area?

So, for years and years, the rumour mill has been rife with these woddie shenanigans. Thorpe have now just whipped them all up again by posting a picture of a woodie on their Facebook page, asking if people would ride it... Just before planning applications are due for the 2015/2016 coaster and after they were apparently seen snooping around the CGI and intamin wooden coaster stands at the expo.. So, does this mean that wood is on the cards? Discuss

Hi guys, Yesterday I was on park and was asked to take part in a focus group. The main aim of the focus group was to get our opinions on the parks food offerings and also the future. We had to first give our opinions on the current park offering, we said it was okay but there is a lack of undercover eating spaces and also we said it had to be more immersive with themes I.e. a restaurant to fit in with The Swarm a little like disney or universal (obviously nothing to that standard though!). Then we were asked about the thoughts of KFC and Pizza Hut being replaced by the inhouse brands. In our opinion as long as the in house brands rivaled those of the high street then pe…

During my visit to thorpe park yesterday I took many pics of Game and Nintendo signs around the park (these are below)! Also all the queue lines were playing Nintendo adverts! In the Lake View Marque they had a projector with the Nintendo logo on and around the walls were at least 40 3DS... I forgot to say the doors were shut... this is what I could see from outside! I also done some research online and Game are doing a offer: ''Want to have even more fun with your gaming? Well for every order of £50 or more*, we'll give you a 2-for-1 Thorpe Park Voucher! The 'Nation's Thrill Capital' is home to Nemesis Inferno, Colossus, SAW: The Ride and more - the perfect outdoor a…
