Latest construction update now up at the usual place, although I expect many of you have already seen during FN visits the progress made .

 

Building is certainly taking shape, but how have we got to October and still not really have the first clue as to what's going inside?! Bravo, Thorpe .

 

That's a very tall maintenance door.

My thoughts exactly.  A way for getting some very tall screens in (and out) possibly?

Screens come rolled up, that would be for something that needs removing regularly such as a ride car. A robot arm perhaps. 

Well if its trackless it may just need sensors and foundations.

Ooh, most of the building is done, I'm getting a little bit excited here, Thorpe's marketing team are doing a great job so far.

Looking at the building, it is definitely looking much more of an orangey red now compared to the similarities of the light brown it appeared to have earlier on.

Really not surprising to see a large doorway back there tbh. Those (few) who've been round the back of Atlantis Submarine Voyage would've seen it coming.

All dark rides have a large access point. Large pieces of equipment you wouldn't have expected and potentially vehicles have to go in and out of even your average dark ride. It's not a real indication, in fact judging from that photo (!!!! NB: don't judgee scale by anything you see on the internet!!) it looks relatively small.

Not Necessarily, the door is mainly used for maintanance for when the ride has been built. Most most rides have access to them but due to this being in a shed it means that access is limited therefore they have put a large door

There was a video from Legoland Germany when they were putting in the massive Lego X-Wing in their Robo-Arm ride building which showed off a massive maintenance access door as well...

 

Given that usually the building shell is built first before any ride mechanisms, of course it'll have a giant door so that construction vehicles can enter it...

 

There's so much desperate jumping to conclusions for this thing, don't people know how much the trackless technology costs?

Anyone else noticed that there is new merchandise for the 2016 ride/attraction in Sweets & Souvenirs and also in the Megastore?

It doesn't give much away, but it's kinda interesting. I'll try to get photos next time I'm in the park.

Nope you all have it wrong, the ride will be themed around Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and this is obviously the entrance for the Oompah-Loompahs.

 

Its going to be called
