August 31, 201311 yr comment_167427 But, I think the point rOsSwA28 is trying to make is why has it stopped at that specific point? It does seem to stop there a lot? Is there some kind of sensor there that causes it to stop meters away from the end of the chain hill?
September 1, 201311 yr comment_167430 If I were going to guess I'd say that would be the last point of no return for stopping a boat, so if the ride thinks the boat in front hasn't cleared the run off (whether it actual hasn't cleared it or a sensor error makes it think that's the case) or the water level is out it'll stop to avoid a collision or dangerous drop. Once it goes over that lip there ain't no stopping it till it hits something, and that really has to be a pool of water!
September 1, 201311 yr comment_167507 You only need to look at the amount of rubbish at the bottom of the lift hill when you go up in Loggers, Tidal must experience the same, so it only takes a plastic bottle or some other rubbish to jam a sensor I guess.
September 4, 201311 yr comment_167717 according to the website, tidal wave is currently unavailable... I swear someone said it wasn't open on the summer nights event - has it been broken since?

September 5, 201311 yr comment_167739 It had to brake on us just before the last spell of summer didn't think this was one that prone to braking, must be the lift hill right?
September 5, 201311 yr comment_167741 At least it didn't break down during the peak of summer season and the heat wave. Is a shame to see it closed though.
September 5, 201311 yr comment_167793 Anyone know whats with Tidal Wave and stopping at this particular point? The most common shut down for this to stop there, is a 'high water alarm'. It's nothing major.
September 6, 201311 yr comment_167797 I can't be the only one who finds that a bit ironic, especially considering Amity Cove's theme...
September 6, 201311 yr comment_167800 Typical, the day after Tidal Wave reopens the weather turns crap again... Break down you stupid ride! I want the hot weather back
November 1, 201311 yr comment_171570 What's happening with the water on this at the moment, 1 min you look at it it's got no water running down it, the next it does, and the next it's only got a little bit?
November 17, 201311 yr comment_172089 Doing some research for a project at college I came across this image. Following the link took me to this page: http://www.artem.com/portfolio/552 This company produced the gasometer, water tank and the church steeple. Some decent images of both effects in use and the creation/installation of them. Excuse me for going slightly of the Tidal Wave topic here, but the whole portfolio is worth a look as they've done many notable projects such as the props used in the opening ceremony, Brian the Confused. com robot and a replica rig that tilts Air's seats for the TV advert. Definitely worth a look!
November 17, 201311 yr comment_172091 What a find, nice one! I'm certain I've ever seen that before. That company looks pretty amazing really. I wonder if they and others are still considered for new projects or if they try and keep it completely in house with Merlin Studios, who seem to make a fairly successful line in things that don't work often or for long.
November 17, 201311 yr comment_172096 Considering the amount of money Merlin Studios demands, I wouldn't be surprised if external companies are still used (Chessie did so for Wild Asia)...
November 20, 201311 yr comment_172201 Merlin Studios only really create the concepts and waxworks, almost the entirity of every project is made with external contractors.
November 24, 201311 yr comment_172380 I honestly love Tidal Wave because it is simply one of the best and wettest rides ever! I also find the queues are normally at 0 minutes which is an extra. I wish Chessington could do a ride like that, even though they have no money!

November 24, 201311 yr comment_172392 That is true, I haven't ridden Valhalla at Blackpool pleasure beach, but heard it is good.
November 24, 201311 yr comment_172401 I also find the queues are normally at 0 minutes Yes for most of the year but if it is one of those rare warm British summer days, the queue is easily 75 mins! Which I find strange for a ride which such a high throughput and which has the ability to soak every guest on and off the ride!
November 24, 201311 yr comment_172406 It was 3 hours at one point when I went in the summer (mind you it was bloody boiling!)
December 4, 201311 yr comment_172895 Just two random and pointless questions that came to me yesterday. Is the water just filtered water from the lakes, and, is there a maintenance depot to maintain the boats? If so, where is it? I've never seen it.
