Just imagine, if Colossus can have a pre-show and storyline, but similar to Colossos at Heide Park Resort in Germany. But with an Atlantean storyline, in which the beast protects the remains of the Lost City. Also, I would like to put in, an onboard soundtrack,

And even also, I would put in a giant statue at the tenth and final inversion, it will appear as if it's destroying the track! Fire effects are also welcome, like on The Swarm, and like that, every ten minutes! Feel free to comment. PS. I do wish the track, or the trains would get replaced with new smooth and comfortable ones.

Repeating the same request over and over wont make it happen. The ride isn't going to be re-tracked any time soon, plus due to design differences of first and second generation Intamin 10 looping coasters, it means custom track and trains would likely be needed for the ride if major parts like that are replaced.

Some promotion. Would you wish for more comfortable trains as well as I do?

I'm sure many posters will already know most of these facts, but I had an interesting Thursday researching Colossus's history for an article:

Err this article is a mess.

Colossus has never (and could never) run with three trains as it suggests.

The barriers on the sides of the trains you mention only existed for a short while too, the restraints ended up being replaced as a long term fix. They allow minimal movement of the legs and they are awful.

The article isnt criminal but let's be honest, the world record was only there to have something gimmicky to boast about. It actually makes for a boring second half of the ride and always did. So it's the ride's own fault that it wasn't as good as Nemesis Inferno the next year really...

Colossus and Inferno were both planned more or less the same time too it must be said.

With the water infilling, the biggest knock came much earlier when the queue was filled in and Saw The Ride built so that you no longer felt close to the lakes at any point in the ride. Shame really because it added something—and Saw Alive was rubbish!

Gotta love sitting on the brake run waiting for the other train to be dispatched, legs pinned in place and cramping up like they're about to explode 🥰

Interesting footage and amazing how so much has changed in that time (for better and worse).

0:00-0:12 would never be allowed now, due to strengthened safety such as lock-offs. Doing similar now would no doubt result in the immediate dismissal of the operator and staff involved.

Think their safety procedure was strengthened around the late 2000’s when an employee was killed when entering the ride area at one of their Legoland parks.

That POV really shows how much Colossus has changed. Obviously there's water in the cobra roll pit, but there's the inline twists too, where the Saw / Saw Alive land has been infilled, along with the concrete that's appeared around the bottom of the drop too.

And yes, the person on the lift hill during operation of the ride is something which would no longer happen at a Merlin park. Those sorts of thing do still happen in parks (usually ones abroad), but in general, it's not something that happens much these days. Different times and all that

Apparently, due to the fact this is sinking, some of the Colossus supports are filled with Helium.

And that's something, you might not know.

Indeed, that's why Thorpe stopped selling balloons - all the helium budget went to Colossus.

(It's a little early for April Fools; think you've been had)
