Was planning on putting this in the 'Parks / rides / news' topic but then realised it's locked So here's a new topic... The 226ft Mellors Starflyer has returned to the South Bank as of today and will be residing there until 29th September as part of the Wonderground. So if you're around the area pop on for a ride! The spinning mouse coaster has not returned for this year. Starflyer was priced at £7 last year though I am unsure of prices this year. Never have I seen it less than £6 at other locations.

Londons Death Trap is the newest of all the horror maze/shows, things. And I was wondering is it different from any of the other horror mazes? Reviews online suggest you really get into the action by putting your hands into holes and searching for missing keys an so on and so forth.Has anyone visited? If so please share reviews and comments.

Star Struck? well just head down to madame tussauds in London! Start your day by sneaking past the paparazzi and attend a photo shoot with Kate Moss. Then mingle with Brad, Angelina and all the other stars in your very own premiere party before taking your challenge in the Big Brother Diary room. And theres so much more...But wait! its not just London - Madame Tussauds New York, Madame Tussauds Las Vegas, Madame Tussauds Amsterdam, Madame Tussauds Hong Kong and Madame Tussauds Shanghai.

Just something what I've noticed more and more recently on not just these forums but various forums about the UK's parks is the slating of Merlin and it got me thinking are they really that bad? I know people don't like things such as paid fastrack but these are things which have been around way before Merlin got involved with Thorpe / Alton / Cwoa, and what business sense would it be for them to come in and but that what must be fairly high revenue stream? I think Merlin have actually done a pretty good job with "The big 3" of our parks since they took over.. At Towers we've had: Mutiny Bay - Much better than what was previously there, well themed and good area IMO …

Considering I haven’t really gone out of my way to research it, I’ve read & watched a few things this week that has made me realise how much trouble Merlin seem to actually be in. With a large restructure going on across the business in the coming months, redundancies in Merlin Magic Making which is confirmed to be shutting down soon, the closure of Bear Grills, new projects shelved, 2 brand new Legoland parks having devastating low attendances, the operational cuts we have seen in the UK this season, and multiple midway attractions closing their doors around the world, Merlin seems to have found itself in some trouble. Clearly I am absolutely …

Just a quick one Does anyone else think the name of this category should be UK Attractions, rather than parks? As places like Sealife, Dungeons, Shreks Adventure etc aren't parks.

Link below to a brand new scare event in Hampshire. It's the first year this event is happening and it would be good for all lovers of frights for Halloween to go along. Go to their Facebook page like the page and please go along if you can to support it. The link below gives more details on the event plus booking tickets. It's only £7. https://www.tickettailor.com/checkout/view-event/id/65045/chk/1639

Plans have been submitted for a 20 acre theme park in Llanelli, Wales. It would Neighbor Oakwood and have 26 rides and around 7 rollercoasters. See http://www.themeparks-uk.com/other-parks/news/new-theme-park-in-wales-with-26-rides. One of these coasters would be the first of it's kind in Britain, built by Vekoma. From the look of it on the map( see link) it looks like a Vekoma Stingray!

I was wondering if anyone here had been to Paradise Wildlife Park. Its a nice little well themed zoo in Broxbourne with a train ride (used to be Thomas, not anymore) around dinosaurs and real wolves and foxes, as well as some nice little play areas. It has lions, tigers, leopards, cheetahs, all that sort of stuff then it has goats, pigs, sheep, rams, it also has birds bats and it has the World Speedway Museum (FIM Speedway, Google it if you dont already know it, it's a great sport). I've been there many times, quite a few when I was quite small, it's brilliant and I would recommend it. Sent from my SM-G361F using Tapatalk

  13. Pasaje Del Terror is a Horror maze franchise which started back in 1988. there are many in Europe and South America. there is one in the UK at Blackpool Pleasure Beach and there used to be one in London at Piccadilly. There used to be one in the USA called Terror on Church Street. the original creator of Pasaje was a man named Fernando Quenard and the very first Pasaje was located in Mar del Plata, Argentina. The Thompsons bought the Pasaje franchise in around 1993-1998 and has been running for about 20 years now(the Blackpool attraction). the Pasaje usually lasts about 10-15 minutes and has many famous horror movie characters which try to scare you during the journey. it…

http://www.grimsbytelegraph.co.uk/pleasure-island-theme-park-to-close/story-29738706-detail/story.html Sad news, it's always a shame to see a park close and yet another bad sign for the UK industry. Gutted that I never got to visit, and unless a miracle happens I won't get to.

So QUEXTREME is returning for its 3rd year this year at Quex Park in Birchington. Having done it every time I can safely say it is probably the scariest of all the horror events I have done. Theres only 3 mazes however each one lasts about 15-20 minutes and you’re sent in small groups. They’re all outside with one being in a cornfield, one a forest and one big one which incorporates different areas and a big, theatrical storyline. Last year one of their mazes was nominated for a scare tour award for most innovative ending; this involved everyone being bundled into a London Black Cab with a stunt driver who flung you around in a field w…

Sorry, but I need to have a rant and rave on this. Last week I went up to London for the day. I went to the Science Museum to find that attractions that I am waiting to see are still closed and may never re-open.Firstly, level 2 of the "launch pad" has been closed since about November last year. It was called digitopolis and is being refurbished. It was meant to open about April this year. Nothing has happened in almost a year. They have taken everything out of the floor, taken the "box sign" down that was hung up and lit. Why change this? This was fascinating, yet useful and knowledgable for kids!Secondly, the Food For Thought exhibition has been closed since the summer …

Hello there. I applied for my first job last week, a Guest Experience Assistant Weekend role at SEA LIFE. Was very pleased to receive an email today saying I've been invited to the assessment centre. Does anyone have any idea what sort of things they will ask in the interview? I'm pretty confident with the team working exercises, just not too sure how to prepare for the interview as it'll be the first I've ever had. Any help people could give would be greatly appriciated.

Today the Some friends and I went to the Merlin Annual Pass Preview Day at The Trafford Centre, Manchester. I have done an annotated picture review of it. The photos arent as good as my usual photos. My camera is rubbish inside. The Sea Life itself is in a section of the Trafford Park. It is pretty well hidden. It was only when I moved closer I noticed it. Inside you are greeted and pay your entrance, get your photo. Then you go into 'The Turtle Experience'. Inside you are greeted by the above lady who explains to you all about turtles, starting with that they have been around since before Dino's existed. They use projection mapping on the floor to s…

So so this is all coming up soonish! Tickets have gone on sale for July already so opening very soon! I was surprised a topic had not been started about it in all honesty From what I have read and seen it looks very similar to what the London Dungeons provides but with a different theme and possibly target audience, it will be interesting to see what it has on offer when it finally opens! Here is the current site for those interested https://www.shreksadventure.com/london/
