Coaster
Not open today.Too many rides shut for such a busy day - Slammer and Samurai both down all day, and Loggers was also down for a lot of it.
InfernoMartin
So sounds like its gonna be out of action for the rest of the season unless the part comes quicker than expected that's a shame pretty good ride when its on a decent setting
Worthy9992
Not open today. Too many rides shut for such a busy day - Slammer and Samurai both down all day, and Loggers was also down for a lot of it. Slammer will also be closed till further notice they are already stripping it down for winter works also logger is having problems because there not enough water level in the lake at the moment to pump round the ride
Cal
I had to be evacuated of loggers haha

GladiatorFanKyle
Does anyone know why Samurai's safety bars wobble so much? When I went on Top Buzz 2 they were very rigid so I dont know how samurai's can be so wobbly.
dragon2000
Fingers crossed 2014 is the season that Samurai can make it through an entire season at Thorpe: 1. Working 2. On a decent setting all the time... Coaster, GladiatorFanKyle, StealthRider and 1 other
GladiatorFanKyle
This has bugged me for AGES! I wanna know why does Samurai's safety bars shake so much! The other mondial rides ive been on (Gladiator turbine, Top Buzz top scan) the safety bars are very rigid and dont shake.
pluk
Because it is almost certainly the oldest mondial ride you've been on and therefore the most knackered. It disturbs me too, I'm sure they shouldn't move side to side like that. But it must be safe...

Benin
I would say the restraint wobble is an age thing tbh, 15 years is a long time for ride advancement or improvement... Mondial probably looked to create a fully locked restraint when they realised this issue... Doesn't effect me mind, as it's clearly safe and has been for longer than the lives of some on this forum...
Mark9
The bars did the wobble when it was at Chessington. It's nothing to worry about though, no ones plunged to their deaths yet.
pluk
They were rock solid when it was new and for many years, was only at the very end of its life at Chessington they started to move and nothing like they do now. Of course it is safe but I do find it unnerving, there are a hell of a lot of forces on those restraints and it's always in the back of my mind that I'm likely to be the heaviest thing they've had to deal with for a while when I ride, if one of them is ready to give up my bulk might just tip it over the edge! Marc
I'm sure if it was a problem atall it would have been fixed when mondial referbished the ride in 2004? I thought they were meant to do that!
GladiatorFanKyle
I knew it was safe but it's just extremly unnerving! Some other non mondial rides restraints wobble but they are designed to do that a little due to forces.
JoshC.
Christ, weird to think Samurai's been at Thorpe for 10 years now... Marhelorpe and Inferno
Benin
Same amount of time Chessie has been drowning in a pit of despari and non-investment... If not slightly longer... MattyMoo
