February 8, 201213 yr comment_131575 Really hope there is a smoke/mist effect under the plane wing now.
February 8, 201213 yr comment_131576 Thats where I can imagine it! Just thinking logically and safety, fireballs out of wing were unlikely as its so near paved areas and really dangerous. So the logic is the fire truck gets struck with water puts out flames, however we have smoke billowing out of the fuselage and the wings :owhich will look so epic OMG can't wait deffo going on the 16th to just go on the ride then go to work at 4
February 9, 201213 yr comment_131607 SRQs are a faff magnet, glad they've chosen to go without. If only they'd go without the Farce Track queue line too.
February 9, 201213 yr comment_131608 Dunno about peoples obsessions with SRQs. I hate them as a staff member, I hate them as a guest.
February 11, 201213 yr comment_131759 Well according to the Jonathan Ross show tonight, The Swarm will go 100 miles per hour and he is going to be one of the first to ride it! LMAO.
February 11, 201213 yr comment_131760 He angers me; all he said was untrue and the fact he gets to ride it first angers me further
February 11, 201213 yr comment_131761 Well according to the Jonathan Ross show tonight, The Swarm will go 100 miles per hour and he is going to be one of the first to ride it! LMAO.Personally can't wait to stand outside the gate watching him go round and round again. It gave Thirteen that certain Je ne sais quoi on that rides opening day.
February 11, 201213 yr comment_131764 Personally can't wait to stand outside the gate watching him go round and round again. It gave Thirteen that certain Je ne suis quoi on that rides opening day.I assume he just meant that he'll be riding it at the celebrity preview event, but we'll soon find out
February 12, 201213 yr comment_131770 For anyone who missed Jonathan talking about THE SWARM last night...http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bYNOwS9hWAg
February 12, 201213 yr comment_131771 I like Jonathan Ross, I just wished they had done a bit of research before hand.Any way, <3'ing the picture at 0:24 under the wing!
February 12, 201213 yr comment_131772 The trim brake on bottom of first drop is active however at a minimal strength in accordance with speed sensors on the first drop. Depending on train entrance speed, it can make the whole trim and brake run from between 5 seconds to 30 seconds. Massive difference!
February 12, 201213 yr comment_131780 Here's the best I could do in getting that picture of the train going under the wing.
February 12, 201213 yr comment_131807 The trim brake on bottom of first drop is active however at a minimal strength in accordance with speed sensors on the first drop.To be honest, I'm not too fussed on how powerful the trim brake is, just as long as it isn't painfully obvious a la Th13teen. Hopefully, minimal strength won't do that..As for that picture...And there's people saying that the left side will end up being a short straw... Probably looking at a mere couple of inches clearance there surely?! Add in a mist / smoke effect around it, and people are going to be terrified about going through it, let alone putting their arms up...
February 12, 201213 yr comment_131813 So if you was to put your arms up then that plane would be like a giant landscape guillotine
February 12, 201213 yr comment_131816 Isn't it obvious? Something that low would, at best, chop the area above your elbow off. At worst, you'd lose your entire arms.
February 12, 201213 yr comment_131819 Yeah obviously the ride will maim as many people as possible... Cos you know, B&M are bored of Intamin getting all the injuries and incidents on their rides and want in...
February 13, 201213 yr comment_131825 Yeah obviously the ride will maim as many people as possible... Cos you know, B&M are bored of Intamin getting all the injuries and incidents on their rides and want in...At least, it will maim only those who are stupid enough to stick up their arms before the wing, and think they'll come out unscathed. I'd say the injury rate of the ride is going to be pretty much 50-50

I'd say the injury rate of the ride is going to be pretty much 50-50Yep, because one of the Uk's biggest theme parks is going to open a ride which has the possibility to maim people who only do so much as put their hands up...You're ridiculous.

I'd say the injury rate of the ride is going to be pretty much 50-50Many people put their hands up on rollercoasters and rides, it's just how it is and it's got nothing to do with being stupid. If someone gets their hands maimed by SWARM, it won't be the guest/rider's fault. The riders should be able to raise their hands without getting their hands maimed and its down to Thorpe to prevent that. If the coaster has the slightest chance of maiming riders, then it will create huge problems for Thorpe and we can only hazard a guess as to what would happen... Edited February 13, 201213 yr by Marc
