February 6, 20169 yr comment_227650 The swarm's always been moving forwards... Just the back seats are facing backwards
March 3, 20169 yr Author comment_228930 Thorpe have posted a video on Facebook showing Swarm testing; all rows seem to be facing forward!
March 17, 20169 yr comment_229900 It's also got new mist effects under the planes engine. Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk
March 17, 20169 yr comment_229901 Technically Swarm still has still never had a full day closed, seeing as AP day was a preview day and today is the first day of the season! Go Swarm!

March 17, 20169 yr comment_229912 Anyone know the reason why they have turned it back round? I'm assuming it's cheaper somehow.
March 17, 20169 yr comment_229914 Anyone know the reason why they have turned it back round? I'm assuming it's cheaper somehow. I don't see how it would be cheaper? Swarm would still require the same amount of staff in the station. Assume it would just be down to lack of demand? Or could of been causing problems/easier maintenance wise.
March 17, 20169 yr comment_229924 It's a stupid decision, it means less ways to ride... At least backwards added a different experience to stop getting bored of the ride... Never mind, just as well I'm not visiting as many times this year as last aha
March 17, 20169 yr comment_229927 Anyone know the reason why they have turned it back round? I'm assuming it's cheaper somehow. I'm not sure if your being serious but if anything the loss of the more expensive fastrack sales etc will if anything lose them a bit of money.
March 17, 20169 yr comment_229928 I'm not sure if your being serious but if anything the loss of the more expensive fastrack sales etc will if anything lose them a bit of money. It seems an odd move to remove something which seemed to be making them money. My only assumption was that it must make maintenance easier/cheaper or able to remove staff members.

March 17, 20169 yr comment_229930 It's a great decision. It was a mess as it was, and the best seats are the rear ones facing forwards. They were forceless in comparison when reversed. Looking forward to getting back on those seats!

My only assumption was that it must make maintenance easier/cheaper or able to remove staff members. It won't make any difference to maintenance nor require any less staff- if anything turning the rows round will have been more work.
March 17, 20169 yr comment_229934 "I want to make another cheap dig at Thorpe, so will complain about something which I wouldn't normally complain about". I was actually asking to know what the answer was or am I not allowed to be curious and ask questions any more. At no point was I going to complain about something which I think is a good idea. I don't just complain at merlin for the sake of it contrary to your belief.

At no point was I going to complain about something which I think is a good idea. I don't just complain at merlin for the sake of it contrary to your belief. So why assume it's cost cutting? There's literally no logical reason why it'd be more expensive to run backwards than forwards. So it just felt like you were just trying to make an easy moan again. Apologises.
March 17, 20169 yr comment_229950 It's because it was a stupid decision in the first place in the short term because Swarm was deemed a failure... Now that no one cares anymore about the backwards part, we can go back to things being sensible on it... Bar the bag drop of course
March 17, 20169 yr comment_229959 I'm not sure if your being serious but if anything the loss of the more expensive fastrack sales etc will if anything lose them a bit of money. It's still chump change for a company that uses quite literally any opportunity to grab your money. I'm sure they'll be fine
March 20, 20169 yr comment_230108 Heard quite a few people today in Swarm's queue say "where are the backward seats?" "I thought this went backwards!" "Do the seats spin around once you get going?" Also didn't help that the the board advertising queue times was still showing the Swarm Forwards and the Swarm Backwards as separate times.
March 20, 20169 yr comment_230109 They definitely need to fix that! I'm all for looking at how rides can be tweaked and worked upon, but on a ride of which one of it's key features being near misses, backwards seats makes all those near misses redundant. I think removal of the backwards seats was the right way to go.
March 20, 20169 yr comment_230110 Out of interest has the station been changed back so there is no extra queueing space for the back two rows?
