  2. Hi guys. Scare season has well and truly begun here in the UK; theme parks have embraced the Halloween spirit, scare parks have opened, and YouTube and social media are filled with nothing but scare event vlogs and reports. Two popular UK events, based at two of the UK’s most popular theme parks, are Alton Towers Scarefest and Thorpe Park Fright Nights. These events are similar in some ways and different in others, but they are often compared due to them both being based at Merlin theme parks. So I’d be keen to know; which event do you prefer? Are you an Alton Towers Scarefest person, or are you more of a Thorpe Park Fright Nights fan? I’m not a scare fan at a…

Angry Birds Land has officially arrived in the UK - Sundown Adventureland opened it yesterday! Yesterday sees the first Angry Birds activity park hit the UK. Sundown Adventureland, located in Nottinghamshire have placed an order with the Lappset Group, a large manufacturer of playground equipment for the UK’s first Angry Birds activity area, due to open to the public this weekend. The £250.000 investment for the park, who exclusively look of attractions for under 10′s, reviled the world will include several large play units, a mixture of themed swings and roundabouts and a giant dummy catapult to replicate the Angry Birds world. Paul Tomlinson, Park Manager at Sundow…

It seems Paramount isn't the only new park heading our way http://www.thenorthernecho.co.uk/news/11121960.__100m_historical_leisure_park_with_stunning_nightshow_planned_for_Auckland_Castle/?ref=var_0 OK, it's not in the same sort of scale, but it does sound interesting. Especially the show aspect. Anyone been to Puy du Fou?

Avon Valley Adventure & Wildlife park... It really isn't usually a noteworthy place at all with 0 creds, and no actual rides (it's located between Bristol and Bath)... But there's recently been a cool Segway company based there and they took us through a maize maze on the segways which was amazing! But anyway the whole reason for this topic, is basically only recently found out they hold a Halloween event, apparently it ran last year too, can't believe I didn't know about it, as it's literally 5-10 minutes drive away from my house! Looking at the prices and stuff, is £12.50 good for an evening of 3 live action mazes and side attractions? Also has anyone heard or se…

Today, I went to Beaulieu Motor Museum for the first time in about 15 years. I really enjoyed it. I love how the monorail goes through the museum!I went on the ride Wheels, all about cars through the years. It's not how I remember it as far as scenes go, yet it's still a classic. It smelt really funny in there, a bit like rubber. Nice smell, but it was nice to get away from it after a while.

Hi does anyone know what’s happened to Cliffhanger now it’s departed Blackgang Chine? I hope it has been bought by my local Theme Park Camel Creek in Cornwall. Camel Creek’s signature Rollercoaster has been incredibly unreliable and will likely be scrapped. Cliffhanger would be a great replacement. I wouldn’t be surprised if the replacement for Cliffhanger is Enterprise from Alton Towers,Spinball Wizzer from Alton Towers,Rocky Express from Thorpe Park,Apocalypse from Drayton Manor or Floom Of Doom from Funland Hayling Island. Please can you all share your opinions and hopes for the future of Cliffhanger and it’s replacement? I hope the replacement is …

I thought there was a Brean topic, but can't seem to find one so thought I'd make one! The ex-Hastings "Speed Wave" Mondial Top Scan is open at the park until September. Unknown if it will return to Hastings, or go travelling again after it's temporary stay at Brean. The ride is still owned by the Hastings owners but is on loan to Brean.

Broadditch Farm plays host to an array of seasonal events. It is best known, however, for its amazing Halloween Event, Broadwitch Hauntfest. Nominated on numerous occasions for Screamie Awards, this humble farm near Bluewater, Kent is seriously making a name for itself in the Scare Industry.2010's Spooky Castle was arguably the best Scare Attraction in the UK, with amazing attention to detail in set, props, actors and their make-up. Michael Bolton- respected figure within the scare industry and also the man behind Scare Tour, stated that Spooky Castle was his personal favourite Scare Attraction of 2010, calling it, "perfect". As well as four, unique, intense "haunts" …

Saw this scare event near Bluewater in Kent. Never heard of it before, has anyone been or know anything about it? Seems to have several mazes and won some awards a few years back. I guess it’s a smaller version of tulleys. Cheers! https://www.spookycastle.co.uk/

Carters Steam Fair is the most wonderful travelling vintage fair. It's set up in Maldon today, if you find yourself nearby I thoroughly recommend you go. The rides might be ancient and powered by steam, but don't let that fool you! The Steam Boats are probably the most genuinely dangerous (and therefore properly thrilling) ride operating in the UK, they are incredible. Unfortunately the Divebomber and Giant Octopus aren't touring this year, I'm really going to miss them. Little facebook video from today in Maldon gives a good idea of the set up. <iframe src="https://www.facebook.com/plugins/video.php?href=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.facebook.c…

I couldn’t find a thread for Coney Beach, so I’ve started one. Not sure how many people have even been to Coney Beach here, but it’s somewhere I’ve been quite a few times since I was little and they have my favourite KMG Afterburner I’ve ever been on: Beach Party! I started this thread because I noticed that Beach Party looks to be up for sale online *cries* (so if anyone wants to buy it for me, I’ll give you free rides on it in my garden ) Jokes aside - if Beach Party really does leave Coney Beach, I will be so sad!

So their new Twister (crazy mouse) ride is open, was supposed to be open back in May, but I think it only just opened end of last month! So found this video off ride, and they're building wooden barriers around the ride, while the ride is open, surely that's safe right!? And I wonder if it's actually going to be themeing, or if they're doing what they probably had to do to the other big rides to block the sound of screaming for the locals.

Hi guys. While it’s probably one of the lesser known defunct UK theme parks these days, I’m led to believe we have quite a few people on here who grew up in the UK in the 1990s, or were more generally around in the UK in the 1990s for that matter, and know about Mr Blobby and Crinkley Bottom in Cricket St Thomas, Somerset. So I was intrigued to know; did anyone ever visit this park in the brief period it operated? And if so, what did you think? I must say it’s a park that looks intriguing, and quite a strange one to imagine as someone who wasn’t alive in the 1990s. As someone who mainly knows Noel Edmunds as the host of Channel 4’s Deal or No Deal, I can never…

So I'm sure a few of you might have heard whisperings about a new attraction coming to Greenwich in London at the end of this month. At Scarecon Deathcell was heavily featured and teased after a hugely successfull kickstarter campaign. Looking at the website and announcements the following information is avalaible... Approx. 30 minute live-action Escape Room experience. Combining immersive theatre where the guest truly decides their own fate, mixed with a classic intense ‘horror maze’ experience. Those curious enough to undertake Deathcell will be pushed to their limits, forced to make unprecedented choices that will affect everyone in the expe…
