c1hrisin
Thats so close to the car! also how doesn't it vibrate the nest out?
MattyMoo
I don't think there will be any conservation orders in place for a humble magpie... more probably get killed on the M25 each day, whilst they are gorging on some roadkill themselves, ironically
HeavyMetalPirate
Went on Colossus for my first ever ride yesterday after missing it before because I didn't think I'd fit! Me and my girlfriend easily fit into it and I'm not small atall. I'm so happy! Coaster
Cal
The birds nest is still there, and looks to have got bigger? Found this image on Thorpe's facebook page, someone posted it.
Mitchada04
Must be for the Easter egg hunt they've got going on over Easter weekend. And I bet the tickets to the premiere screening of Angry Birds 4D are in there OldFarmerDean, JamminGamer, alexander and 3 others
Olistjj
couldn't see any sign of the nest today although I wasn't looking for it, also 2 trains were running which meant the big queue moved unusually swiftly! My ride was extremely rough though, left me with a bit of a headache -.-
Mattgwise
Yesterday I didn't see the nest either, but did notice between Samurai and Saw plaza a Swan sitting on its large nest. So it's not just the bird!
Ricky
The nest was removed for the birds safety, in fun news a duck has layed eggs behind a fence in The Swarms queue! MattyMoo
coaster_monkey
Ugh!! Instead of wasting money on unwanted re-themes why can't Thorpe Park pull their finger out and give Colossus a bit of love? This is a coaster that put Thorpe Park on the map and now over the years it has just deteriorated. It's sad to see a coaster that once frightened the life out of me turn into a roller coaster frightening the life out of me at the risk of tetanus... It's sad. Is it just not possible for new trains and a clean up? dragon2000
holtjammy16
We'll probably still be asking for Colossus to be shown some love for the next 10 years
Matt 236
Whilst Colossus currently looks a mess (with its dirty paint faded track and messy queue line), the ride has been running at its smoothest during the last couple of years. Apart from the cobra roll, I've found the ride pretty smooth on all my five rides this year. dragon2000
alexander
But guys, a clean and freshly painted Colossus wouldn't fit the area, it fits the theme better when it's all rusty and dirty.
Whiteknuckle
And the fact some areas are getting quite overgrown. It's called "Lost City" for a reason. I'm loving it the way it is.
Marc
Id like to see the track painted but I'm not to sure if it really needs new trains. Sure It could make loading / unloading easier but I don't think Colossus is really as rough as made out and if new trains would make much difference
Tom
I think being older and therefore taller I don't find Colossus rough anymore (also having Saw to compare it to...) but it sure is uncomfortable in those seats and my legs often cramp up. Definitely the most uncomfortable ride I've been on, except maybe topspins and their crushing harnesses.
OldFarmerDean
I think the theme Lost City is fine... But they seriously need the lake/pond under the cobra roll cleaned out and actually filled with water as it actually looks vile, and could look so good - as for the rest of it, I'm liking the overgrown look, and the paint isn't too bad I guess. But new trains (with more leg room which is possible achieved by the new lap bar trains) and the pond is a must!
paige
Without wanting to sound completely stupid, I felt that Colossus was slower when I went the other week? I felt I got a lot more hang time on the inversions, especially the heartline rolls, but it just seemed to dull the general ride experience besides that? Toby Tidal Wave
To be honest, Lost City is a lot better than it was when the area was first created. The shrubbery is great and would be a big mistake if it was all cut back. Think Colossus's area needs a tidy up however. c1hrisin
I've never heard someone say that Colossus' seats arent small enough before Gggggggg
Marc
Thought would mention the Colossus station music has been fixed - the loud ambience plays with the automatic dispatch announcement with the whispering playing - it sounds great in there! Ride On Review
I'm not a particularly big or tall man. I wear size 33-34 trousers and at a height of 5"11 but I'm finding a hard time to fit in the first row of each carriage. New trains would really benefit so much, even if the seats were a little higher (which I know they'll have to use a clearing frame thing) but it's starting to becoming harder to fit in without doing a gymnastic position in the seat!
