There's no doubt that Chessington is one of the best themed parks in the UK, full of quirkiness and beautiful design, each area transporting you all over the world. Here you can talk about anything to do with Chessington's themed areas. Got any pictures? Post them here! Shun the non believers.... shunnnnnnn.

Sorry, but I need to have a rant and rave on this. Last week I went up to London for the day. I went to the Science Museum to find that attractions that I am waiting to see are still closed and may never re-open.Firstly, level 2 of the "launch pad" has been closed since about November last year. It was called digitopolis and is being refurbished. It was meant to open about April this year. Nothing has happened in almost a year. They have taken everything out of the floor, taken the "box sign" down that was hung up and lit. Why change this? This was fascinating, yet useful and knowledgable for kids!Secondly, the Food For Thought exhibition has been closed since the summer …

Another Mack powered ride, and this is a great one! Its located in Mexicana sitting near the Rattlesnake, and personally I think its on of Chessingtons most enjoyable rides. Its like the Flying Fish, but with the theme of RMT, its really a completely different ride! (Now I'm starting to do random blabble )Discussion on one of Chessingtons better rides here!

Hello there. I applied for my first job last week, a Guest Experience Assistant Weekend role at SEA LIFE. Was very pleased to receive an email today saying I've been invited to the assessment centre. Does anyone have any idea what sort of things they will ask in the interview? I'm pretty confident with the team working exercises, just not too sure how to prepare for the interview as it'll be the first I've ever had. Any help people could give would be greatly appriciated.

Today the Some friends and I went to the Merlin Annual Pass Preview Day at The Trafford Centre, Manchester. I have done an annotated picture review of it. The photos arent as good as my usual photos. My camera is rubbish inside. The Sea Life itself is in a section of the Trafford Park. It is pretty well hidden. It was only when I moved closer I noticed it. Inside you are greeted and pay your entrance, get your photo. Then you go into 'The Turtle Experience'. Inside you are greeted by the above lady who explains to you all about turtles, starting with that they have been around since before Dino's existed. They use projection mapping on the floor to s…

Opening 2009 at the Alton Towers Resort is Sharkbait Reef, a new SeaLife centre for Mutiny Bay. It will be themed around pirates and will feature a 10 metre walkthrough tunnel. Below are some images advertising the new attraction...What do you think about this new attraction for Alton Towers? The SeaLife centre at Chessington has proved a huge success and a themed one at Alton Towers would hardly be a bad thing in my opinion...

So so this is all coming up soonish! Tickets have gone on sale for July already so opening very soon! I was surprised a topic had not been started about it in all honesty From what I have read and seen it looks very similar to what the London Dungeons provides but with a different theme and possibly target audience, it will be interesting to see what it has on offer when it finally opens! Here is the current site for those interested https://www.shreksadventure.com/london/

Quite inevitably, here is the ultra super, duper, amazingly cool poll and the choice is simple. What is your favourite (so in other words, the best) rollercoaster at Alton Towers. Make your choice and then you can discuss it if you wish or not. Or whatever. I chose Nemesis because its just pure relentlessness from start to about 2 seconds after the vertical loop. But you may choose differently. And below are some pictures of those rides, just in case you've forgotten what they look like. Edit - I totally forgot Rita. The Smiler - The Worlds first rollercoaster with three different opening dates. Air - So technologically advanced it got superseded by two other f…

I think Spinball Whizzer is an overrated ride that gets ridiculous queue times compered to the better spinning coaster at Chessington! It lacks theminmg and is incredibly slow loading! However you get some good air-time and a slightly different ride every time! 8/10

Not sure where to put this topic but going to put it here for now anyway! Was reading around on some other forums and a discussion started about whether you think there should be or shouldn't be actors for SW7? Personally I think I'd like to see roaming area actors rather than queueline actors similiar to what Thorpe Park did with The Swarm on the first couple of opening days. With The Swarm actors it really created an atompsphere when you walked up to the island and had army officers shouting at you and you had the vicar walking around and of course the injured people. I'm not sure what they could do with SW7 though other than what they did at Scarefest with the Dr wal…

Hi guys. It's been 4 years since Alton Towers' 8th Secret Weapon, Wicker Man, opened, so I thought SW9 deserved its own speculation thread! I made this thread, however, because we've now had confirmation as good as any that SW9 is well and truly in the pipeline; Nathan Graveson, a designer who worked for Intamin and designed the likes of VelociCoaster, Toutatis and the Parque Warner Madrid launch coaster, has announced that he is now a project director for Merlin Magic Making, and has stated SW9 to be one of MMM's upcoming projects. He said the following, and the bolded explicitly references SW9: "I also have a massive announcement. Since my recent depart…

It's something we'd all like to see I'm sure. It's been 6 years since we've had a secret weapon, do you think anymore are planned for the future? If so, then what?!Personally I'm hoping for a giant, flying pair of GHD's. but that's just me

According to Towers Times, Merlin have filed a trademark for the name 'The Alton Towers Dungeons'. Taking it very much at face value, that suggests Alton Towers are certainly planning on getting a Dungeons-style attraction. If true, it wouldn't be the first attraction to get a Dungeons within it - Warwick Castle does have the Castle Dungeons, which is a 45 minute ish experience. I'm... intrigued by the idea. There's enough real history, and scope to embellish the truth (see Hex), to create a fun and unique Dungeons style attraction. But would it really work in a theme park environment, especially at a park where it's a stretch to do everything of n…
